You ate the eggs he gave you, and the two of you headed into the woods to find out more of the creatures in Gravity Falls.
"So...tell me about yourself," you said, trailing alongside of him. You were sure to not step on a root this time, so your eyes were glued on the dark ground covered with dead leaves and twigs. A few large pine cones here and there.
The trees that dimmed out the suns light made the atmosphere very calming.
Especially Ford. The way he stood aside from you. The way his dark eyes would stay locked onto the forest mess in front of him, made you think he's determined to uncover the secrets of the falls.
You felt your cheeks suddenly flush while thinking about him.
"Hm? Oh..." Ford started, and filled the gap with a chortle. "Well, I used to live in New Jersey...with my ma and pa-" he hesitated. "and twin brother. That's all." Ford gritted his teeth, and you could easily tell.
"That's all? Come on. There's got to be more to that...like, where is your parents? Especially your brother? Does he live here in Gravity Falls?"
"No! I mean...I don't want to talk about it. Not about my brother, anyway," Ford retorted, and turned towards you, his eyebrows creasing. This only made your eyes narrow at him.
"So, I'm going to stay with someone that I won't know as well?!" Your fists clenched as you faced him.
He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. "See?!"
Your eyes were glued on him, but suddenly you caught something in the corner of your eye. Something rather green, and it travelling towards Ford's side. You didn't clue in.
Ford sighed and rubbed his temples. "Look, (y/n). It's been really hard-"
"Ford! Look out!" You screeched, pushing him out of the way while the green oval hurdled towards you. You were slammed against the ground. Again. Well, this time both of you were.
Ford was opposite of you, and he was struggling to get up and find his glasses.
"Huh?! What is it?"
You blinked, and searched your body for the green object. It didn't hit you...but a nearby tree.
The green object was more of a slime, and it was sliding off the large pine tree slowly until it fully disintegrated into the trunk. Then, the smell.
A wave of nausea swept over you, and you toppled to the ground again.
It smelled of the insides of animals, as if they were torn open and left out in the forest area.
You heard Ford's footsteps coming, and it stopped suddenly.
You felt your (f/c) shoe being engulfed by a cool liquid...
