The golden city was sprawled out before her, dots of white could be picked out among the amber streets as prospitians went about their business. A young girl stood on the ledge of her window, gazing down at the buildings her tower overlooked. She let her hand fall from the elegantly carved crown poised above the head of a kneeling pawn, held by a carving of Prospit's luminous queen. She took a small step forward, her slipper encased toes hanging over the edge, and jumped. Her hair whipped behind her as she plummeted headfirst towards the paved streets below. Everything was a blur of yellow around her, roofs passed by and moments before hitting the ground she gracefully pulled out of her dive and curved upwards in a fluid and swift movement. She stuck out her arms as she spiraled upwards, a grin lighting her face and her glasses threatened to fall. Suddenly changing direction, she swooped past a balcony of one of the many ornate buildings that made up the golden planet. Street after street she gradually slowed until she was floating along the street and waved at a carapacian passing by. Landing on the amber colored streets, she turned her head towards Skaia's clouds, depicting a flurry of colors clashing against each other, sparks of red flying off the frantic clash of metal on metal.

A sleek, black sword abruptly slashed through the image and the scene changed to a checkered battlefield, pawns of opposite sides sacrificed themselves in the throes of battle, rooks bludgeoned those that stood in their way, the bulk of their body serving as a shield for other soldiers from the onslaught of projectiles. The white king towered over his army in the middle of the fray, brandishing his scepter against those who opposed him. The ground shook as an obsidian black siege titan crossed the field, archers positioned themselves on the parapets that crowned the rook's castle-like head and sent loose a volley of arrows onto the white army. The ember eyes of the genetically engineered soldier glowed, glaring down at the pawns before it, then, lifted its foot and crushed the unlucky trio of sword bearing carapacians. The archers perched atop its head stumbled and clung to the parapets as the siege titan's mass shook. The burning eyes of the giant shifted to an oncoming knight and the cloud mirage swirled and faded, colors lacing together like threads to form a new scene.

The young girl slowly came out of her dreamlike trance as the clouds above weaved themselves into a new vision of crimson and orange that blended serenely with the iron gears it flowed from. She turned her head and let her sight fall on the nearby tower that resembled her own, the smooth golden sphere that sat atop a tower of the same color held a room of which could be viewed from a single, masterfully carved window.
