:tyler:
i thought kissing him in his backyard would get him to notice me.
i thought wearing my mom's fucking floral kimono would get him to notice me.
i thought making up a lie to his parents would get him to notice me.
i thought getting a girlfriend would get him to notice me.
i thought stalking where hangs out/works he was would get him to notice me.
not sneaking out with him at 1am to his friend's house would be the winning option for him to notice my fucking existence.
i was sitting outside the front of his friend's house because "he needed to talk to me."
i sat up against the brick wall, staring up at the moon that was slightly being blocked by a couple of trees, waiting for this kid to get his ass out here.
"hi tyler!" the red head waved at me.
"hey?" i was not looking forward to this at all.
"so how's your love life?"
i tried my best to not make the wrong answer but i will break up with jenna, if it gets me to josh.
"nothing exciting. i just broke up with my girlfriend and i'm lonely."
"do you like anyone at the moment?"
"yes actually, he's out in your yard right now." i smiled.
he sat closer to me "so you do like josh?"
"yes, i've loved him since the day i saw him. he doesn't lik-"
the blinding red head put his finger to my lips "he likes you too, don't worry."
i cheered "yay! now what to do we do?"
"since both of you are in on the plan, i want you to ask him out when we get back. don't make it public and extravagant, just nudge him."
"sounds good to me!" i wanted to burst out of my shoes, smiling until the day i die at this point. he finally likes me back.
i followed him through the house to meet everyone back outside again.
i sat back down in my chair directly next to josh, when do i make the move?
i waited a good 10 minutes before even letting another word slip out of my mouth and there it began.
i poked josh's arm and asked him to follow me outside the gate.
josh nodded his hand as we slipped away from the table into the pure darkness, behind the fence.
"so josh, you like me?" i questioned.
he shrugged "i would assume you feel the same to me, don't you?"
"that's why i took you back here, dipshit."
"well did you actually mean that kiss in my backyard or was it another one of your 'plans' again."
"josh, i told you already. i don't know what got into me, i regret it."
"do you really, tyler? you're happy with a girlfriend, you're better off without me."
i lied "josh, you don't understand. i was forced into that relationship."
"how do i know you're not being forced into this one?" he began to whimper.
"josh, i promise. this is coming from my heart. just please, i love you."
"then why did you kiss me in the backyard, if you didn't mean it."
i sighed "you don't understand. i lov-"
"say you love me all you want, i don't think we're ready yet." josh turned away and started to walk by.
i grabbed his hand and yanked him back towards me "josh, i mean it."
i wrapped my arms around him and lightly pushed him against the shed wall behind us.
my lips smushed onto his own and i kissed him, i really meant it this time.
josh went with the program and wrapped his arms slowly around me.
he pulled away "do you mean it? or will you regret it again?"
"i won't regret being with you for the rest of my life, are we cool now?"
"fine, i like you. i don't want to be heartbroken by someone like you. i'm too attached to you to be let down."
"i won't do an-"
"tyler, you can be my boyfriend." josh clasped my hand as we hopped our way back into his yard again.
before we knew it, the time was 4:30 and the sun was about to rise in less than an hour. josh told the red head that we had to go and we blasted out of there.
luckily i had my house keys with me so i snuck back into my house and went straight to bed.
i can go to bed happy knowing that josh finally noticed me in a good way.
