Clarke's POV
Lexa takes me into her arms and hugs me tight. I strangely feel safe and warm, forgetting the horror of what had happened tonight with my mum.
We both walk into Lexa's house. It's small but homely, it has a warm atmosphere to it. You can almost hear the laughs bounce of the wall.
The decor inside is very modern but classics at the same time. Hard would floors with one colour walls.
I follow Lexa down the hall way and into the kitchen, she switches the light on as we walk in. As The light flickers on I see that the kitchen is quite large and has all the necessities. It also has a dinning table at the far end near the back door.
As I turn to see Lexa she's holding a pot of hot chocolate mix with a warm smile on her face.
"With milk or water?" I get asked.
"Milk, who uses water with their hot chocolate? That's just weird!" I chuckle back.
"I suppose I'm pretty weird." Lexa says winking.
"Wait you use water?" I frown. Lexa nods and turns around to make the cups of hot drinks.
She leans up against the kitchen side as she reaches up to the cupboard above her. I see her trying to reach for a box of small marshmallows.
"Aghh." I hear her wince as she turns around.
I notice her hold her fore arm, there's a small burn just appearing.
I take Lexa's arm and look at it. "It's a surface burn, just run it under the cold tap for 30 seconds then pat it dry." I say letting go of her arm and turning the sinks cold tap on.
Lexa stares at me, question in her expression. "My mum owns her own private health care. I used to help out." I explain.
I take Lexa's arm and place it under the tap. Her face not displaying any discomfort as I do so.
After almost a minute I take her arm from under neath the water and check it. I then pat it try with my hand.
"All good" I smile.
Lexa looks at me signs something at me. She takes her hand, palm down and pulls it from her chin and down in a 90 degree angle.
"What does that mean?" I ask curiously, still looking in her eyes.
"Thank you. " is all Lexa says.
----
After making the drinks Lexa takes me upstairs and shows me the rooms.
She points to the two doors on the left.
"That's my parents room and the cupboard" she says. "And this is the bathroom" she continues and point to a room that is on the back wall.
"And this" she says as she opens the door "is my room."
As I walk in I turn around in a 360 circle. I notice that her walls are a slight pastel pink/cream colour. There's also wall paper on one wall that is a grey metallic colour and has a pattern that looks like a book case.
On this wall there is a slightly larger than normal single bed with plain white sheets. Stood next to the bed there is a small set of draws with a lamp and some books.
Across the room on the opposite side there is a desk, kind of like a school desk. It is covered in books and paper, pens and colours.
"Your rooms nice!" I say to Lexa as she closes the door.
"Thank you" Lexa smiles back.
We both sit down on Lexa's bed, sipping at our drinks. In silence. But it's not the sort of silence that's uncomfortable, it's a relaxed silence with no heavy weight on in.
I look up at Lexa and catch her yawn. It was cute the way her nose wrinkled slightly.
I tap her knee. "Do you want to go to sleep?" I ask.
"Do you want to talk about what happened tonight with your mum?"
"Um..." I reply "Maybe tomorrow. Are you sure it's okay that I crash here?"
"My parents are asleep and should be fine with it. They won't turn you away at..." Lexa paused to check her phone "5:34 in the morning. I'll talk to my dad tomorrow." She smiles.
"Thank you." I reply, "You didn't answer my question though?!" I persist.
"I'm a little tired but I can stay up with you if you want."
"I'm tired as well to be honest. Can I borrow some pjs?" I ask. I'm not really tired but I don't want to keep Lexa up any longer.
"Borrow what? Sorry?" Lexa asks as she stands up.
"Pyjamas." I smile back.
Lexa goes to her closest and pulls out a pair of black three quarter length pyjama bottoms and a long My Chemical Romance tshirt.
"This okay?" She asks as she hands them to me.
"Perfect. Thanks"
Lexa's POV
I pass Clarke the clothes and we both just stand there.
"I'll leave you to get changed." I say, slightly awkwardly.
"Just turn around if you want. I don't want to kick you out of your own bed room." Clarke chuckles.
I turn to face my door and wait for Clarke to change. After a few minutes I turn around and realise Clarke isn't finished getting changed.
I see her struggling with her tshirt. Her hair is caught in the buttons.
"You want help?" I say slightly startling Clarke.
She nods through her tshirt. As I untangle her hair I can feel the vibrations of Clarke laughing on my hands.
It's such a wonderful thing to experience. The feeling of a genuine laugh.
After I untangle her hair I take a step back out of her personal space. I take a moment to just admire her. Her body, her eyes, the slight curve of her mouth as she smiles.
"Take a picture it'll last longer!" Clarke jokes.
I stick my tongue out at her and walk over to my draws. I take a blanket out from the bottom draw.
"You take my bed, I'll take the floor." I say as I go to lay the blanket out on the floor.
Clarke grabs my hand. "Lay with me?" She half asks and half pleads. "Just until I'm asleep."
"Of course." I say pulling the covers back on my bed to get in. "Are you sure you're okay Clarke?"
"I will be," she says as she climbs in next to me. "I am right now and that's all that matters."
I smile and place a small kiss on her check.
I then sign to her.
She looks at me and I know what she's about to ask.
"It means good night princess." I say.
I sign it again.
Clarke watches my hands with every movement with fascination and amazement.
"Goodnight Lexa." She whispers.
She then turns around and puts her back on my stomach, pulling my arm from my side and over her stomach.
She's trying to keep herself protected, keep herself safe.
I pull the blanket up to Clarke's chin slightly. I watch her as she slowly drifts of into sleep, her breaths becoming more slow and steady. My eyes become lazy and I to begin to sleep.
