Ethan was just born when he was left on the doorstep of an orphanage. The name 'Ethan' was scribbled across a piece of paper that laid on him in his little basket. Before the lady came to the door, a beautiful being appeared next to him. She smiles softly at the cute baby. He giggles.
"You are special." She whispered to him. She lays her hand on his head. "You'll be the one to bring everyone together." She closes her eyes and Ethan was tied to five different beings souls. The being disappears as elderly lady opens the door. She spots the small child on the doorstep and lifts him into her arms.
"Hey, little cutie." She hums to the bundle in her arms. He makes baby noises and the lady coos. She takes the child in, giving him a home and food.
Ethan was never adopted or taken in as a foster kid. Eventually, he gets a job at 10, helping pay for stuff at the orphanage. He helped as much as he could. At 12, the lady who owned the orphanage passed away. Ethan ran away, scared to be put into the system. He lived on the streets until the age of 14 when he got a job at The Red Eye and built his way up from there.
Ethan saw the good in every being and was friends with just about everyone he met. Although, he didn't know many beings personally. He has met many through his work. Ethan lived in the main city; all beings work equally together here. Other cities and towns can be mainly a being, though.
The Red Eye was a very popular restaurant. Everyone went there, especially if they had money. Ethan was lucky to get a job there. He was flirted with every day, by both genders. It brought in more customers, which made the manager think of him as good luck.
A blaring noise sounds through the small apartment and a groan escapes a bundle under some blankets. His hand hits the top of the alarm clock. The annoying noise turns off and the human sighs as he pushes the blankets off. Ethan runs a hand through his orange red hair.
He stands, heading to his bathroom to change and clean himself. He was tired, beyond tired. But he still pushed through. After putting on his uniform, which was a button up shirt, slacks, and a cute black vest, he headed out of the apartment. He greets his landlord, Jack, with a simple hello.
Jack smiles, watching the cute kid make his way down the street.
Ethan enters his work and his friend, Kevin, stood at the door waiting on him.
"The door is open." Ethan comments.
"I only want you to serve me."
"Everyone knows you wait on me." Everyone knew a lot of customers waited until Ethan showed up to work. He was cute and energetic even this early in the morning. A lot of beings appreciate it.
The two enter the fancy restaurant, Ethan heading towards to back to put on his apron and to clock in.
"Morning, sunshine." His co-worker, Jeffery, says. He's one of the main cooks.
"Good morning, Jeff. How are you this morning?"
"I'm doing good. How are you?"
"Tired, but good. It's just been a long weekend." Ethan gets one day off a week and typically it's Wednesdays. He works throughout the weekend, which is the busiest time.
"I know, kid. Now, get your cute butt out there and get to work." Jeff winks at Ethan who cheekily smiles in response. Jeff has been trying to get in Ethan's pants ever since he turned 16, which is the legal age in their new world.
"Your eyes are like the burning amber color when the sun sets at dusk. Your hair is as soft as a feather as I run my fingers through it." The poet of the day goes to Ethan's regular, Gilbert. Gilbert's favorite activity is to make poems about Ethan until one day, Ethan falls in love with him for it. It's been two years but he hasn't given up yet.
"Thank you, Gil. Want the usual?" Ethan asks as he flips open his notebook.
"Yes, please. And I'll eventually convince you to love me." The younger male chuckles.
"Sure, whatever you say. I'll be back with your drink."
"Thank you." Ethan hears the faint mumble of the warlock as he tries to think of another poem to woo the human.
Humans, in this world, are a rare find and to love. Humans don't have the typical mates and soul-bounds like other creatures do. Unless it's Ethan's case, in which he's soul-bounded to five different creatures. He doesn't know that yet, but he'll learn.
Ethan goes from table to table, getting flirted with here and there. A few hands slip numbers into pockets, where he smiles and throws them in the trash after walking away.
Not everyone is soul-bounded to someone so they get their fix, most of the time, from humans. Vampires and demons love to have their way with humans. Vampires love the taste of human blood more than any other creature. The best kind of blood for a vampire is the blood of their soulmate.
"Rick, please don't attempt it." Ethan says as he sets a plate on the counter.
"Just a bite never hurt anyone." Ethan went to disagree but he decided against it. He didn't precisely feel like arguing with the vamp.
"You're here early."
"Thought I could clock in a couple extra hours."
"Really?"
"Fine. I just really missed you."
"You missed my smell."
"You're not wrong." Ethan rolls his eyes and gets back to work for the long day ahead of him.
Ethan runs a hand through his hair, pushing the hair out of his face. His hand was tired from holding the tray all day and his body was slowly wearing down. There was nothing he could do, though. He still had three more hours of this shift to go. He does try to work overtime as much as he can. Any money he could get was better than none.
The young male smiles politely at the couple sitting at his table.
"Hello, what would you like to drink?" He asks them, holding his notepad to take down their order. They inform him what they would like and he excuses himself to get it.
Everything he did was basically engraved into his brain. He had to be perfect. It was a well known fancy restaurant with many strict rules and guidelines.
"Thank you so much for coming. Please come back again." He says, handing the card back to the man.
"Thank you, we sure will."
Ethan breathes out in relief as his last costumers exit the place. It's been a busy day.
Ethan starts to clean the table; Rick greets the beginning of night shift customers. After they were both done, Rick stops him in the back.
"Ethan, you look exhausted. Head home. Your shift is up."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Thanks. You're a lifesaver." Rick chuckles, pointing towards the door.
"No problem, now go home and sleep!" Ethan nods with a laugh as he removes the apron, heading into the back to throw it in his locker. Rick smiles, thinking about how cute the kid is.
Ethan fixes himself before entering the streets. Unlike how the world used to be, day time was when everyone was awake and nighttime was when everyone was asleep or partying.
Here, each part of the day is used. Vampires and demons like to hang out during the night. Werewolves like to shift at night as they are moon children. Angels, werewolves, and warlocks hang out during the day. Anything in-between choose a time they like. Humans, like Ethan, hang out during the day. It's safer. Vampires and demons like to prey on humans often. Humans are protected during the day. But at night, they're free range and most humans out at night are feedbags or vampires whore who get high off of the bite of a vampire and demon whores think demons have the best sex.
There are occasions, like Ethan's case, of humans being out because of their work.
He rushes down the street, avoiding multiple vampires and demons. His blood was a rare type of blood and it sometimes attracted vampires. He also has a cute body, which attracted many demons. He had a huge target on his back. That was the main reason Rick sent him home early. Not many vampires and demons who prey on humans are out at the beginning of the night. Most are working at this time. Ethan, a usual of paying attention to his surroundings, accidentally runs into a tall man while he was weaving through the streets.

Alright! So this is a bit rough. I tried to edit it a bit from younger Bella bc I'm too lazy to rewrite it. *y'all know I suck at introduction and first chapters. ✌😔*
Anyway, Izzy here with a whole new book. *cue the applause and booing*
I know I suck. Don't tell me. Anyway, I've been stewing on this idea for a while. Lemme know what y'all think? Does it suck? Probably. Will it get better? Hopefully. Stick around and see how it goes.
I think Ethan is adorable and if anyone wants to work as my artist, I'll pay you. *I need to see your work first beforehand but seriously, lemme know y'all.*
I LOVE YOU ALL, MY WACKY PINEAPPLES!
