I scribble some random stuff down in my notes before math class ended. The bell rang and everyone was excused to go home. I looked in front of me to see that Jennie had her stuff in her bag already and was about to head out.
"Jennie, wait for me!" I shove my notebook and ran over to her. We walked towards the door but I suddenly realized,
"Jennie, I need to go to the library to get this one book. Can you come with me?" I asked. She shook her head.
"I need to go to sport practice, but I'll see you tomorrow," she winked at me and head off in a different direction. I looked away and walked off to the library. I began brainstorming for the class project coming up... I hope Mr. Shin lets us choose our partners.
"Class, listen!" Mr. Shin raised his voice. I twirled my pencil and looked up.
"Since no one can follow the class's simple rules, I will be putting you guys in partners," he spoke. I slam my hands onto the table.
"What? Mr. Shin!" I protested. He looked over to me and sighed.
"Ms. Y/N, since you spoke up first, you will be partnered with Xiumin," Mr. Shin grinned. I looked over to Xiumin who was writing the notes down on the board. I got partnered with the class president... time to make myself look stupid. Every girl liked him for his looks and his brain... all the girls looked at me and then silently looked glum.
"Does everyone have a partner?" Mr. Shin asked. I snap back into reality and the bell rang. I slowly put my math notes away into my backpack and as I took my pencil, I realized it wasn't on my desk. I looked up and realized Xiumin was standing in front of me with my pencil in his hand.
"Ms., you dropped this," Xiumin handed me the pencil with a bright smile.
"Thank you," I nodded. I placed my pencil into my backpack.
"I guess we're partners," he spoke. I nodded and zipped up my backpack.
"You get the concept of this project right?" I asked him. He nodded and handed me his notes. He had VERY nice handwriting and it was clear and looked as if he had printed the paper.
"Ah, I see." I nodded. He handed me his number on a post it note.
"We should start on it today and try to finish it in two days," he smiled proudly.
"Two days? But it's due next month," I asked.
"The concept is so easy that it can be finished in two days. I just need to get some graph papers, a construction paper.." he trailed off and I stopped listening.
"Is that okay?" He asked. I snapped out and nodded.
"Yea, sure," I replied to whatever he asked.
"Okay, see you at the coffee shop later today," he bowed before he left and walked out of the class.
"Wait what?" I muttered.
"Oh gosh, I'm ten minutes late," I began rushing with the papers in one hand and my phone in the other. I walked into the cafe and saw Xiumin sitting at a table alone. He was finishing the homework from math class... I wish I was as hardworking as he is. I walked over to him and bowed.
"I'm sorry for being late," I told him. He smiled brightly and shook his head.
"It's okay, I just got here. Sit," he said. I sat down across from him and handed him the papers he needed.
"Lets order the drinks," Xiumin cheered. I nodded.
Soon after the drinks came, we started doing our work.
"Can you cut this out?" Xiumin handed me a pair of scissors and the graph paper which he had sketch out. I nodded and started cutting but as I reach my hand over to the grab the scissors, my hand knocked over my coffee and spilled all over my pants and the papers in front of me.
"EKK!" I yelp and took the cup off my lap.
"Omo, Y/N, are you okay?" He rushed over to me and examined.
"I'm okay. It wasn't hot at all, but my pants smell like coffee now." I frowned. He smiled and took off his jacket.
"Wrap this around your waist and let's finish the work tomorrow. I can drive you home," Xiumin began grabbing all the paper and place then nearly in a folder. I took his jacket and wrap it around my waist.
"I'm so sorry Xiumin. I'll pay for it," I told him and reach into my backpack for my wallet.
"No, I'll pay. It's good to be a gentleman and pay first," he said and click his tongue. He walked over to the counter to pay. I sighed and zip up my backpack.
Xiumin drove me home in his car and I felt so embarrassed for my clumsiness.
"I'm sorry," I told him again.
"It's fine, beside, I think my brain is overheating," he chuckles softly. Why is he so nice to me? Is he like this to every girl?
We arrived at my house faster than I wanted to.
"Thank you by the way.. for everything," I smiled. He nodded.
"It's nothing. I'm glad I can be a gentleman for a cute girl," he laughed. I gave him a confused expression. Did he just call me cute?
"I'll return the jacket to you once I wash it-"
"Don't sweat about it. Return it to me whenever you want." I sighed and thanked him again.
"Oh by the way," he handed me a note that had English words that I didn't understand.
"What does it say?"
"You'll see. I'll see you tomorrow Y/N," he spoke. I nodded and walked out of his car with my back and the note. I watch him drive off and later entered my house...
It was 9 PM and I want to know what Xiumin wrote on the note.... I went on a translating app and type in the note and translate it into Korean.
"D.. a.. te, me... Did he just asked me out?"
