Laurel’s POV

“YOOOOOOO!!” I shouted, clearly announcing my presence. “GUESS WHO’S HERE?!”

Audrey and Sophie came in. I noticed that both of them had their mouths open and their eyes wide. I smirked.

Zayn’s head popped out from behind the door. “Sis, I like your place. But if you don’t mind, would you please stop blocking the doorway to let us in so we could admire it more?”

Oh. I was standing in their way. AWKS. “Um. Yeah. Sorry. Oops. Um.”

In the corner of my eye I saw Calum chuckle at me. Come on. It was my first time being a host. Cut me some slack, people!

“Ooookayy. So, a little introduction. These two beautiful ladies that you see in front of you are my best friends, Sophie and Audrey.”

Audrey laughed. “You know I’m not beautiful, Laurel.”

“Nonsense. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way,” I replied.

“So cheesy,” Audrey muttered while smiling.

“Was born in the cheese state, girly. You should be used to it,” I grinned. “Anyway, continuing the introduction. Those four hot Aussies you see over there is 5SOS, and the one that looks like an Asian is my boyfriend, Cal. These handsome five guys are the famous One Direction. Zayn’s my brother, so don’t offend them.”

“Wait. Why would they offend us?” Niall asked, confused.

  I smirked. “Ask them.”

“Okay fine, so we’re not big fans of you guys,” Audrey said, straightforward as usual.

“Your songs are okay, but just not our type,” Sophie added, probably ACTUALLY trying to not offend them, unlike Audrey.

“Hey it’s fine. We get that we can’t please everyone with our music,” Louis said, shrugging.

“What about our music?” Luke from 5SOS piped up.

Immediately, Audrey and Sophie turned red. “Um, yeah! It’s totally amazing. We love it, and I love y-.” Sophie cut off her sentence. “Wait. What? Um - I - um, gotta go check on my mom!”

  “Sophie’s MOM lives he -”

“Nope,” I said, interrupting Luke’s question.

Audrey and I looked at each other, trying to hold in our laughs. Her mom?! Soph could’ve done WAY better finding an excuse.

“Come on guys, into the living room! We’ve got some things to talk about. Oh and Luke, would you mind going to find Sophie and bringing her here? She’s most likely in her room,” I said, winking at Zayn. He knew what I was up to. MATCHMAKING. DUH. What else would Detective Love do? I spotted OTPs here.

Sophie’s POV

I ran into my room, can’t believing I just said that. Ugh. My mom? She didn’t even live here. And in front of LUKE. Ughhh. I’ll just stay in here, in case of me being more awkward, if that was even possible. I thought it over. Probably not. I dug my head in my knees.

“You okay?” A voice asked behind me.

I turned. And I saw this intimidating tall and hot guy. Luke. Well. This is going to be interesting. And by interesting I mean awkward.

“Oh. Um, yeah. Hey.” I managed to say.

“So Laurel sent me to get you,” Luke said, shuffling his feet. Was it just me, or did he seem a bit nervous…?

“Oh. Well, you found me pretty quickly,” I said on the spot. What the hell? Luke wasn’t stupid, he obviously knew that.

“Well, the house is huge, but I’m smart enough to figure it out,” He said, grinning cheekily.

Oh my god. His smile. It was so…. Perfect. Cute. Omigod. I had probably stared for ten seconds until I realized that Luke was waiting for an answer. Oh. How awkward.

“Um, we should, um, let’s go now,” I stuttered.

“Sure. Laurel said we had some stuff to talk about,” He shrugged.

I got up from my sitting position and started for the door. But apparently, I forgot to put away the book The Fault In Our Stars because I tripped over it.

“Woah!” I said in surprise, preparing myself for the fall, when I suddenly felt Luke catch me and put me upright.

“Are you okay?” Luke asked, his eyes full with concern.

“Yeah, but I hope my book’s okay,” I said. I realized that I sounded like a nerd, but….

“What book is it?” He asked, as I bent down to pick it up. It didn’t seem too damaged. That was good.

“The Fault in Our Stars. It’s really good,” I said. Oh. WOW. I just made myself sound like a bigger nerd there. “Have you read it?”

“Um… I don’t really read,” He admitted, looking at his feet.

“You’re missing out,” I said.

“What is it like?” He asked.

“Reading?”

He nodded.

“Um, I dunno, you forget about everything around you, and you just get really caught up in it and….”

“Sounds cool.”

“It is.”

“Any good books that you recommend? I kinda want to start reading,” He blushed.

“Well… I really like the Hunger Games.”

“Can I borrow a copy? You don’t have to lend it to me, just… I dunno. Um. Yeah,” He said. Wow. Now he’s the one being awkward. It was cute. Actually it was freaking adorable.

“Sure! I don’t mind. I’ll go grab it now,” I said, making my way to my bookshelf full of books and pulling out the first book.

“Here!” I said, handing it to him. “Tell me if you liked it after you’re done, okay?”

He smiled. “Of course.”

And with that, we made our way back to the living room.

Audrey’s POV.

“What are we going to be talking about?” I whispered to Laurel as we made our way to the living room.

She gave me that grin, the one that made everyone know that she was up to something. “Just stuff.”

   Well that sounded like trouble.

All twelve of us sat down on the couches, where I noticed that my Frozen movie was still paused.  Oops.

I was about the grab the remote and turn the TV off when Ashton screamed, “OH MY GOD IS THAT FROZEN?!”

“Yep,” I nodded.

“OMYGOD THAT IS LIKE MY FAVORITE MOVIE RIGHT NOW!” Michael screamed.

“YES I KNOW IT’S SO AWESOME!” I screamed back!

“Do you want to build a snowman?” Ashton sang.

Omg. His voice. Freaking amazing. Even though he was like screaming/singing. Who cares. It was still perfect.

“Come on let’s go and play!” I sang right back. I probably sounded bad. But YOLO, right?! You don’t get to sing with 5SOS every day.

Ashton stopped, stunned. “You know….”

“Yeah…?” I had NO idea what was coming next.

“You have an amazing voice.” He said.

Oh. I wasn’t expecting that. “Do you really think so?”

“Yes, it might even be better than my lad Luke,” Michael said in his adorable accent.

I blushed. “Thanks guys. But Luke’s voice can’t compare with mine.”

“What are you talking about?! I heard my name!” Luke said, coming in from the hallway. I noticed that he and Sophie were walking so close that they were bumping shoulders. I smirked. How very interesting.

“Audrey here has a wonderful voice. You’ve got competition, bro,” Cal said, playfully winking at Luke.

“THAT WAS AMAAAZINGG,” Calum sung the word amazing.

I caught Laurel’s eye and I noticed she was smirking. So. I guess the self claimed “Love detective” is at work again.

“So, Laurel. What important stuff did you drag us here for?” I asked, deciding to change the subject. Because God, how I hate being in the spotlight.

“We are going to decide rooms.” Laurel said.

“No kidding, there’s like twelve of us and you guys have, what, like five rooms?” Harry said.

“Well…. I was thinking that you five could go in the big room, there’s three bunk beds there. Probably could fit your fat butts,” Laurel said, nodding at One Direction.

“Hey. We are nowhere close to being fat. We’re all buff, man,” Louis said, flexing dramatically.

Oh God. I did not need to be seeing Louis’s muscles right now.

“Sure.” Ashton said, rolling his eyes. “Bet you that we’re stronger.”

Harry nodded. “Oh yeah? One day you and I are having an arm wrestle.”

“You’re on.”

“Alright, people, and I was thinking Michael could go with One Direction, Cal’s mine, Ashton can go with Audrey, and Luke with Soph. Cool? Okay. Glad we got that figured out,” Laurel said, not even waiting for a reply.

That was when reality hit me. Oh my freaking god. I was going to share a room with Ashton for like the next year.

“Everyone, go get your ass and your butt upstairs into your new rooms, kay?” Laurel said, bossy as usual.

And so all of us awkwardly shuffled upstairs, everyone with thoughts of their own new roomie in mind.
