Inferno's POV

"Oh...my lord," I pant, catching my breath. I'd just beaten five trainers in a row using only my Charmander.

It felt good to accomplish something so challenging using the bare minimum.

"Char!" Blaze cheered. I smiled at my partner, returning him to his Pokéball.

Up ahead were a few more trainers along with a house. I decided to check it out.

After beating the few trainers who blocked the path, Blaze began to glow. "Uhh," I mumbled, confused.

There was a huge flash of white light and when it cleared, Blaze was an entirely different Pokémon.

Suddenly, I remembered the same thing had happened to Atlas' Caterpie before it turned into a Kakuna.

Of course, I thought. "Blaze, you evolved!" I exclaim, joyfully. I pulled out my Pokédex and held it up to my newly evolved partner.

"Charmeleon, the flame Pokémon," it began. "When it swings it's burning tail, it elevates the temperature to unbearably high levels."

"Sweet," I grin. We walk towards the house, which I was curious about. I knock on the door, but receive no answer.

I walk inside and see a Pokémon on the floor attempting to use some kind of machine.

Before I could get my Pokédex, the Pokémon starts talking - to me.

"Hey, mind giving me a hand?" It asks. "What?!" I exclaim, jumping back.

"Confused? Please, just click that button," It assured, pointing at the table.

I remember seeing a Pokémon like the one here in Mt.Moon. Oh yeah, it's a Clefairy, I remember.

I click a red button on the nearby table, not thinking twice and the Pokémon becomes a person.

"Uhm, what?" I mutter astonished. "I'm Bill," the man says. "What just-," I start. "Ah, yes," Bill interupts.

"That was my invention. You see, I'm a scientist attempting to make a machine to make people into Pokémon."

After two sentances, I stop listening and stare at a lamp. "How much does it cost?" I ask. "Oh, it's not for sale," Bill answers.

"No, the lamp," I repeat. "Also not for sale, this isn't a garage sale," Bill shrugs. "Yeah, it's a house, not a garage," I smirk, annoying him.

"Well, I'm gonna go, cya," I shrug. With that, I left and head off towards the gym.

...

I arrived in the gym and stood in front of Misty, the Cerulean City Gym Leader.

"Go, Staryu!" Misty shouted, flinging her Pokéball. "Come on out, Blaze!" I exclaim.

Wasting no time at all, I had Blaze use dragon rage. Staryu took damage, but not enough. "Use water pulse!" Misty called.

"Dodge it, then use scratch!" I shout. Charmeleon could only win if he dodged every attack, so I had to be careful.

"Staryu, use rapid spin!" Misty called. That's not good, I shook.

"Jump on top of Staryu and use scratch, now!" I demanded. Charmeleon nodded towards me and ran towards Staryu.

Before Staryu made contact, Blaze leapt atop Staryu and began to use scratch. "Shake it off and use water pulse!" Misty shouted.

Staryu began to shake in all directions, but Blaze kept a tough grip. "Jump off, don't let it knock you down!" I called.

Blaze leapt off of Staryu, landing on his feet before Staryu could knock him to the floor. "Blaze, use dragon rage!" I called.

C'mon, Blaze, I believe in you, I thought. Blaze's dragon rage connected with Staryu before it could dodge the attack. "Staryu, use water pulse!" Misty shouted.

"Blaze, dodge it then rush up with scratch!" Blaze strafed out of the way of the attack then ran towards Staryu, landing the final blow.

"Go, Starmie!" Misty called. This is it, we can win, I hoped. "Water pulse, now!" Misty commanded. "Dodge it and counter with smokescreen!" I called.

Blaze continued to dodge the attacks and slowly advanced towards Starmie. When he was close enough he blinded Starmie using the black cloud of smoke.

"Now use dragon rage and follow up with ember!" I demand. Blaze attacked Starmie quickly, wasting no time.

It resulted in Starmie getting burnt and taking damage. "Starmie, use confusion!" Misty shouted.

The attack landed and Blaze started spinning around dizzily. "Blaze, snap out of it!" I commanded. Blaze didn't stop, he wasn't in control.

"Finish it off with water pulse!" Misty yelled. "Blaze, use Infernal Slash!" I called.

On Nugget Bridge we'd tried a move combo I called Infernal Slash. It's where Blaze would use ember on his claws then use scratch on his target.

Please, Blaze, I thought. We can win this. Suddenly, Blaze stopped shaking and dodged the water pulse just in time.

He spat a flame onto his claw and rushed up to Starmie at inhuman speed. The next instant, he uppercutted Starmie. A second later, Starmie was thrown back a few metres.

A flame formed around Starmie for a few milliseconds, meaning he'd taken burn damage. "End it with dragon rage!" I yelled. "Water pulse!" Misty called.

Both attacks collided with each other and began to push in opposite directions, attempting to hit their targets.

The purple flame clashed against the blue beam, but neither seemed stronger, until Blaze's dragon rage evaporated the attack and sped towards Starmie.

Without time to react, plus bad reactions, Starmie was unable to dodge the attack and fell backwards.

"Starmie!" Misty cried. She returned her Pokémon to their Pokéballs and handed me the Cascade Badge.

"You and your Charmeleon are great partners," she complimented. I nodded and exited the gym alongside Blaze.

"We did it!" I exclaim as soon as we're outside. "We're the only ones with two badges now, ha ha ha!"

Suddenly, Atlas, Ace and two others approach me. "I got my badge first!" He bragged.

"Cool. We made friends, real friends, not imaginary ones, so there's something to put on your bucket list," Ace replied.

"I still am the only one with two badges!" I continue. "Actually, we're the only ones," a voice spoke up. "Who, you?" I ask.

The blue haired boy nods, expressionless. "Eclipse, nice to meet you, Inferno," he shakes my hand. "You guys told him my name, right?" I question.

I'm shocked to see Atlas and Ace shaking their heads. Eclipse turns to the female.

"This is Luna, my sister. By the way, nice job beating Misty with just one Pokémon," Eclipse grins.

I sit there dumbstruck, realizing Eclipse is some kind of psychic fortune teller or something around the lines of that.

His black eyes seem to stare into my soul, like he knew my every thought.

"We had a battle, they won," Atlas adds. "A double battle," Ace corrects.

"Also, I have a fetish!" Ace exclaims. "Oh dear," Atlas rolls his eyes. "What is it, Ace?" "No, no, you say is it odd?" Ace retorts.

"Is it odd?" Atlas asks, sarcastically. "It's odd-ish!" Ace replies, sending out a Pokémon which looked like a plum which you'd grow in the ground. "Odd, odd!" it cheered.

"Kill me, please," Eclipse mumbled. Luna laughed at that, figuring it was sarcasm. "End my life," I cringe.
