Benjy's POV (14 years in the past)
Walking. I've been walking home alone since last week. Since the "Dark King" has stole my parents, my home, my life... And I don't even live in his kingdom! I would love to tell Queen Endy... But why would she listen to a 7 year old like myself.
But today, I can't find my way home. I've tumbled into a ditch. Into a small cave. How do I get out? Where do I go?
I started to slowly walk myself into the cave. Tears filling my innocent eyes. My throat dry and scratchy, dirt in my hair, scars on my skin.
The tears are flowing heavily now. They won't stop, no matter how much I whisper a please.
A light.
I climb out of the cave.
There is something wrong with the plants. Dry, black, almost ashes.
This is the Dark Kingdom. Where do I go? I'm trapped in the dark gates. Will I have the same fate as my parents?
Guards. I have to run. But where? I don't know where I'm going!
Tears are flowing faster, wind starts blowing harder, I'm pushed down. I can barely breathe.
"Human scum! Why are you here!? Are you a spy?" The guard screamed. I couldn't talk as my head was being thrown on the ground over and over.
"I...just.. Wanna go.. Home." I panted and pleaded.
I felt myself being dragged, as if I were a doll, from dirt, to cement, to a hard smooth floor.
"What have you brought to me?" Zelcan. This can't be... The Dark King's castle?
"A peasant from the other side. We believe him to be a spy."
"But... He's a child."
"The perfect disguise, sir."
"Hm... You're right. Throw him in the dungeon. He dies at dawn."
"Yes sire."
Dragged again. Across a smooth floor, down ragged stairs, and into a cage.
I just wanted to go home.
I cried harder then I ever had before... Until I started to laugh. So funny how a small misunderstanding can lead to incarceration. But the tears still flowed as the smile tugged at my lips.
A small sound.
Footsteps coming closer to me. Light footsteps.
"Peez, I think he's this way." Said a small whisper.
"Why are we doing this!? Dad is going to kill us." Said a high, but still deeper than his companions voice.
"You said it yourself; what he's doing isn't right! We gotta help. Are you still in or not!?"
"I mean... Yeah. I'm in."
I began to slide myself back to the corner, afraid of the voices that sounded not too older than me, but older. Maybe one or two years.
"Hello?"
I stayed in the corner.
"Are you in there?"
I still didn't move.
"Look do you want out of this hellhole or not!?" The older sounding one called Peezle sternly whispered.
I slowly made my way towards the bars that held me captive.
"Hi, I'm Chavo! This is Peezle."
Sons of Zelcan.
"What's your name?" The Peezle boy asked.
"Benjamin..."
"The fuck kinda weird ass name is that?"
"Peezle! Shush! Endys people have different names... I think."
"Yeah but I'm not calling him that! You gotta nickname, kid?"
I shook my head.
"What's a nickname?" I asked.
"A different, cooler name!" Chavo squealed with excitement.
"Okay Benjamin... We'll call you Benjy." Peezle said unlocking my cage.
"Won't your dad be mad?"
"Who cares," Peezle rolled his eyes, "Now come on and be quiet."
Potato's POV (PRESENT)
What was that sound?
"Hello?" I tip toed down the stairs.
A young boy was on my floor. He looked cold. He must've slammed the door.
"Are you alright?"
"N-no. Dark King. W-warning."
I widened my eyes. "Dark King... Zelcan?"
"Y-your daughter. Her fr-friends... Not safe."
I picked up the boy and carried him to the fireplace.
"Please, relax, what is your name?"
"TNT."
"Your name?"
"It was given to me after the passing of my mother. No parents, no name. I am nothing but a peasant now." The boy lowered his head in shame and disgrace.
"It's alright, please, tell me more about my daughter and... Danger."
Nala you idiot girl, why did you leave?
