There was once a little boy who was very lonely. Most boys his age would be out catching Pokemon, but he could never manage to catch one. No body wanted to be his friend. The more this continued, the more depressed and lonely he became.
To make matters worse for him, he was an orphan. He didn't even have parents to keep him company. He often went out into the woods and played in the trees by himself. Climbing trees was the only thing that could get the loneliness of his life off of his mind. He felt at piece, especially when he saw a rattata or a pidgy just hanging around. He could never manage to catch them, so he grew fond of just watching them play about.
However, playing in the trees could only take away the pain for so long. Eventually he had to leave the trees and go back into the real world. The boy always dreamed of staying in those trees forever.
Then, a very dark night appeared. The boy had decided that he wanted to sleep in one of his favorite trees. At least, that's what he told the orphanage.
The boy ran through the dark woods, with only the stars giving him any light. He ran and ran until he came across an old, abandoned shed. He knew exactly what he was doing. He quickly grabbed what he needed from the shed, before hurrying back over to his prized tree.
Once he had gotten there, he just stopped and stared right up the tree. The boy clutched the rope in his hands that he had needed so badly. His eyes began to water up as he climbed up the tree and tied the rope into the sturdiest branch on the tree.
He sat there for a moment, reflecting on what his life has become. All he wanted was friends, but he never even got the chance to have that. He then sighed, and grabbed the end of the rope. He had practiced tying plenty of old rope in the shed, so he knew that he had perfected his knot.
Once he was done, he looked down at his knot in his tiny hands, until he finally decided to climb down and stand on top of a rock he had placed.
He slowly stood on top of the rock, putting the rope over his head. He questioned doing this to himself, but he knew that no one would come and try to save him. He just bothered everyone. This would make things better, in his mind.
The boy then took one last glance inti the forest, before he closed his eyes. He then stepped off if the rock. He gasped for air and scratched at the rope around his neck. His body was in survival mode, but his mind was ready to go. This continued until the struggle had stopped. His body was now limb as his body swung from the tree.
Everything was dark, empty and silent. That was until he heard a sound. He slowly opened his eyes and looked out into the sky. As the boy tried to pick himself up, he realized his legs weren't there. He held out his arms in front of him, but all he saw was little black stubs for hands. Not only that, but he wasn't standing. He was floating. The boy hurried back to the shed where he knew there was a cracked mirror.
Once he had gotten there, he immediately looked at himself. He looked like a Pokémon, but he had never seen a Pokémon like this before. His eyes were pink, his body was that of a black ghost, and his head was just a tree stump.
The boy's soul had gone into the tree. That is how the Pokémon phantump was created.
