Marinette's POV
I don't know how long I've been sitting there on the cold cemented roof but before I knew it I saw light brightening the dull city of Paris. I look at Tikki and she laid awake but weak next to me.
"Tikki, spots on."
I gather all my leftover strength and sprint as fast as I can towards the bakery. I slip through the hatch into my dimly lit room and collapse onto the floor powerless. Tikki detransforms me and I give her one of the cookies in my nightstand.
I fucked up, more than I ever did and now someone knows my identity. That could mean the end to Paris, maybe even all of France.
I trudge towards the bathroom and lean against the sink in defeat and examine myself in the mirror. The bags under my eyes became more prominent with my pale complexion but the purple I saw earlier was gone. The only evidence of it is a tingly sensation felt in my tired muscles. I reluctantly look towards the small but deadly blade on my cabinet and grab it with care as it presses into my arm, it's mission is to draw blood, simple but sweet.
The more cuts I made the weirder they looked. There was a hint of black and purple in them, on a different occasion I'd say it's crazy but not this time. I need to find out what's going on before it's too late.
I clean my cuts with the antiseptic I keep in my first aid box, but not for my sake, for the people of Paris. They need their Heroine, they need Ladybug to protect them.
I change into new clothes and jump into bed, ready to sleep through the miserable day up until evening. The only thing that made me smile was the freedom I felt with Chat and that's the only thing I wanted to think about so I closed my eyes and fell into what I hope would be an empty dream.
