" I can't believe you made me come this early" I groaned sitting on a desk as Alaric got set up for his first class of the day.
"Yeah well blame your dad for that one, he wanted me to make sure you got here on time" uncle Alaric said laughing a bit.
"I don't know why... I mean I only missed one day this whole year" I said looking at him.
"Because of a hangover" He points out making me bite my lip.
"Point taken.... Anyways, what should I call you when you're in teacher mode?" I asked making him look up at me.
"Mr. Saltzman" he says before handing me my bag.
"Okay" I said taking my bag and standing up.
"Now go and do things a normal average kid would do" he says wiggling his eyebrows.
"Ditch and go get wasted, okay if you insist Mr Saltzman" I joked walking out of the room.
"I meant socialize!" He called out laughing a bit. I rolled my eyes before pausing and walking right back in the room to take my seat.
"I forgot I have you first period" I said making him chuckle a bit. he walked out of the room to grab a few things from the teaching lounge while kids began to pile into the room.
"Hey you, Jenna told me what happened. Are you okay?" Elena asked taking her seat infront of me.
"I'm okay, just worried about my mom" I said giving her a sad small smile.
"If you need anything or even want to just come over and hang out, don't hesitate to call me" she says making me nod. A very tired and distress looking Bonnie came into the room and got to her seat just as Alaric, I mean Mr. Saltzman, walked into the room.
"Good morning everyone" he began causing me to zone out. What? I already read his lesson plans and did the majority of the work already so I am good. I slowly began to feel like shit as the school day went on to the point where I just wanted to go home. At lunch, I walked to Rick's room to tell him that I was going to go home for the day.
"Hey you" Alaric says getting out his lunch.
"Hey I'm going to head home, I feel crappy and don't think I could make it through the day" I said causing him to frown.
"Alright just be careful okay?" he says making me nod. I walked out of the room and bumped into Jeremy by accident.
"Sorry Jeremy" I said as he helped steady me.
"its okay but are you okay? you feel hot" Jeremy says frowning.
"Yeah I'm actually heading home now" I said giving him a small smile.
"Okay and if you need anything..." he said trailing off.
"I know, call you" I said with a small smile before heading out to see my dad leaning against the car.
"hey kiddo"

"how you feeling?" my dad asked as he began to drive us home.
"Terrible" I mumbled resting m head against the seat.
"Well once we get home, you can sleep" he assures me making me nod. Just like he promised, I was able to get some sleep as I laid out on the couch covered in a blanket.

I frowned as I stood next to a woman who was dressed as I she was from the 1800's.
"I'm Emily" she says looking over at me answering my unasked question.
"Hi Emily, why am I here?" I asked looking at ruins of what seems to be a house.
"This is where everything started for Victoria" Emily says as we both looked at the house.
"When she learned she was a witch" I said before looking over at Emily.
"No, she knew that long before this.... this is when she began to change" Emily corrects me. I frowned and looked to see we were now inside a room with a girl my age laying in bed sick . I watched as a figure entered the room and sit on the edge of the bed grabbing.
"Victoria, what is happening?" Stefan asked
"I don't know" she muttered closing her eyes wanting to rest.
"She was just beginning her first transition, but she wouldn't make it to the next after. She gave birth to a child and the cycle just repeated until your mom" Emily says making me look over at her.
"What do you mean?" I asked turning to her.
"Your only part witch.... your other half is something dangerous" she said looking at me.
"A vampire" I said looking back at Victoria.
"Yes but no one in your family has even made it as far as your mom" Emily says making me frown.
"So how many parts is there?" I questioned as I realized we were in the woods again.
"Three if it is not rushed.... your mom was able to live through the first part but the second part was much harder for her" she explains.
"Wait does that mean...." I said looking sadly at her making Emily nod.
"Yes" she says sadly making me hold back tears.
"You said if it's not rushed, what does that mean?" I asked wanting to change the subject.
"If you are killed before going through all three transitions" Emily says.
"What happens if that takes place" I wondered noticing we were outside of a tomb.
"You either die or there is a slight chance of becoming whole but that never happened yet" She says before looking at the tomb.
"This is where your biggest problem is.... she is what is going to cause you so much pain and suffering" Emily said as I walked towards the tomb to see Elena's other self.
"Pierce" I said watching her smirk

I woke up to see that it was almost the afternoon and I still felt the same. I slowly sat up and checked my phone to see multiple text from multiple people and a miss call from my dad.
"Callie?" I heard someone say followed by foot steps. I looked up to see my dad with a very grief filled expression.
"She's dead isn't she" I said letting the tears fall while he nodded.
"Yeah... yeah she is" he says coming over and hugged me while I sobbed into his shirt. I felt tears fall on to my hair as we both began to cry for the loss of the woman we both loved. It felt like forever before I began to calm down and look up at my dad.
"What now?" I asked as he wiped his tears away.
"Now we.. uh... we plan while you're getting better" he says gently wiping my tears away.
"That's not going to be for a while" I said before telling him what Emily told me. He listened carefully and took in everything I said before he spoke.
"That's probably why your mom wanted me to give you this" he said holding out a chain with a ring on it. The ring was very beautiful with a blue stone in the middle of it.
"Wow" I said taking it gently studying it.
"She also wanted me to give this to you to give to Stefan" he says handing me a letter while I nodded and stood up.
"You sure it's a good idea for you to go out?" He asked worried.
"I'm just going to drop this off at Stefan's. I'll be back in a few" I said giving him a small smile. I pulled up to the boarding house and shut the car off getting out and heading to the front door knocking on it.
"Why hello there" Damon says smirking when he answered.
"Is Stefan here?" I asked and walked in once he let me in.
"No he went off to do something probably for Elena" he answered slightly annoyed.
"Okay then tell him there's a letter in his room for him" I said going up to Stefan's room and dropping the letter off.
"What's the letter about?" Damon asked leaning against the door frame.
"I don't know... it's from my mom" I said softly biting my lip.
"Why didn't she give it to him herself?" Damon asked raising an eyebrow.
"She's dead" I said cold turning to him. I watch his expression soften a bit before he came over to me and hugged me tightly.
"I'm sorry" he whispered as I hugged him back.
"I don't know what to do..." I muttered into his chest holding back tears. He pulled back and wiped my tears gently away from his thumb taking my face in his hands. There was silence between us as we both slowly start to lean in as if we were going to kiss. We jumped back from each other when we heard my phone go off.
"Hello?" I answered biting my lip.
"Hey, I went to the grill so you have the house to yourself" Rick says.
"Okay, be careful" I said before hanging up and looking at Damon.
"I'm going to head out.... don't wait up princess" Damon says smirking before leaving me alone in the house. I sighed before turning and leaving to go back to my house. I was relaxing at my house when I fell asleep again curled up on the couch.

It was three days later when we had my mom's funeral. She, ironically, was being buried a few grave plots away from Elena's parents in the town's cemetery. I still felt horrible as I stood
between my dad and Alaric in my black funeral dress as we listened to the pastor speak. I looked around at everyone who attended in search for any of my friends for comfort. I could not find not a single one of them there even though they promised that they would be here. I did not realize I began to have an anxiety attack because of it because until I realized that my control over my magic began to slip. I could feel the wind began to pick up as I felt a tightening feeling begin to build up on my chest with tears building up in my eyes. I held back tears as the sky began to get darker and the wind began to go wild. I guess Ric and my dad notice the very sudden change because I felt them each grab one of my hands giving them a gently squeeze. Slowly, I began to calm down causing the environment to settle down as well while we watched them lower my mom in the grave. The pastor said a few final words before announcing that the funeral was over and a gathering was taking place at the Grille. A lot of people began to slowly leave one by one once they paid their respects to her. I stared at the grave as it came down to only the three of us.
"I'm sorry" I whispered laying a single white rose by the tombstone. I began to cry and turned around before running into my dad's open arms.
"It's okay.... it's okay" he says softly kissing the top of my head causing me to feel tears bit my hair. We stood there in the hug for a while until Ric spoke up.
"Let's go to the Grille and get you two feed okay"
"I am just going to head home.... I really do not feel like eating" I said causing both men to frown. Neither, however, stopped me from heading back to the house where I could be alone. I walked into the house, sighing as I numbly kicked my shoes off by the door. I went to walk into my kitchen to get some water before heading to my room. I laid across the bed and stared at the ceiling after changing into pajamas. I must have just been laying there for a while because when I heard a knock at the door, was dark out. I sighed and numbly got up and went to go see who it was. I opened the door to reveal a face I have not seen in a while.
"Hello Callie, want to help me build a daylight ring?"
