Just before Henry hit the dark skin boy with a rock, Beverly picked up one large rock and threw it towards the bully. The rock threw off Bowers from the boy and left Bower's right temple bleeding.
"Nice throw." Stan compliments Beverly.
"Thanks."
The boy walks over, well kind of. He was crawling from the other side across the water. We all searched and grabbed rocks from the ground for defense. Eddie confused, grabbed one as well.
"You losers are trying too hard. She'll do you, you gotta ask nicely like I did." Henry says as he grabs his crotch. Ben yelled and chucked a rock a little off from Henry's head. "The fuck?"
As Henry was trying to get what the hell was going on I threw a rock at him too and so does Beverly. My rock missed his chest and I quickly threw another.
"ROCK WAR!" A rock passed my head and hit Richie's. I winced, knowing that could have been me. Without hesitation, everyone was throwing rocks from opposite sides of the stream, even the new 'new kid'. Screams of insults and profanity were filling the air as the fight continued.
Eddie jumps into the shallow water, probably not thinking because he wouldn't do it at all when he was thinking. I threw one with full power and hitting Henry's stomach. The two boys in Bowers's gang left him on the floor in pain.
We all looked at each other, how we just won this battle against the biggest bully in the school.
"What the fuck just happened?" I didn't expect an answer. I still didn't believe we won. Eddie and Stan helped the new guy leave behind them went Bill and Bev, leaving Richie and I with Henry.
"Don't mess with us or it will get worse." I threatened.
"Go blow your dad you mullet wearing asshole!" Richie and I flipped him off before leaving.

We all walked away from the scene and under the railroad bridge. The new kid's name is Mike.
"Thanks but you probably shouldn't have done that. He'll be after you guys too you know?" Mike says walking in the middle.
"Oh, no, Bowers, he is always after us." Eddie answers from the front.
"I guess that's one th-thing we all have in common." Bill realizes.
"Yeah home school, welcome to the loser's club."

A few days have gone by and before I knew it, July 4th was here. In Derry we always had a parade for the whole town to come and celebrate. I came with the rest of the losers and my brother, to have fun for a while. I knew in my mind it probably wouldn't last long. I walked back with Eddie from getting some ice cream for a little kid named Richie. We saw Richie from a distance wrongly playing a horn from the marching band.
"They said they found part of his hand all chewed up near the standpipe." Called it. They were talking about another kid that went missing after Betty Ripsom.
"Its like she's been forgotten"
"What are you guys talking about?" Eddie asks handing Richie his cold treat while licking his own.
"What they always talk about." Richie responds.
"I actually think it will end, for a little while, at least." Ben says.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask, not following with the topic.
"I was going over all of my data research and I charted out all the big events. The Ironworks explosion in 1908, Bradley Gang in '35, and The Black Spot in '62. And now kids being.." He pauses, "I realized that this stuff happens every-"
Bill interrupts,"Twenty-seven years."
"Well shit. This marks 27 years again." I mutter.
