**Chapter 10**
Alena's P.O.V.
I stared in disbelief as Brandon spoke those words. Was he serious? Did I feel the same way? Oh god.
Honestly if Caden wouldn't have told me he'd be coming home, I'm not so sure if I would have gone into Brandon like I did.
Don't get me wrong I really like Brandon but i've never been that straight forward. I've only been straight forward with one person.
Caden.
I was really beginning to question myself.
Was I ready to go that far with Brandon?
Was I over Caden?
Honestly, I think I like Brandon but I wanted to rush to show Caden I've moved on since he left.
However, the way Brandon touched me aand kissed me, fireworks, legit, exploded.
"Alena.." Brandon turned towards me, away from a broken-nosed Caden.
"Hm." I responded, raising an eyebrow.
"I wasn't lieing." He looked at me with those big eyes reminding me of a puppy.
"I- Uh- I-" I stuttered like a blonde idiot.
Thank god he shut me up, with a smooth, steady, adorable kiss. He gently snaked his arm down my forearm, eventually lacing his fingers in mine.
I really enjoyed this moment.
Caden began to stand glaring into my eyes.
I knew that glare all to well, I didn't like that glare. I couldn't avert my stare away from his eyes.
It was the stare he gave me as he took my virginity.
Brandon's P.O.V.
I had just confessed my love for Alena. Ever since middle school, I have kept it bottled up in side.
Somehow I wasn't sure she felt the same.
I wanted her to feel those fireworks that i felt. I leaned in kissing her gentle, pouty lips. I laced my fingers with hers. Her cold palm complimented my warm, sweaty hand.
God, I was probably blowing it.
I looked over to Alena and see if I could read her mind. I never could, however she was staring straight ahead.
I followed her gaze.
Caden was standing up slowly, glaring right back at her. The stare seemed somewhat seductive, I wiped it, thinking it was my imagination.
I looked back over to Alena.
My heart dropped.
I sasw her lips curl up into a smile bigger then I have seen in a long time.
Malcom's P.O.V.
I finally caught up with Kyla. God girls are probably the best spies you could ever get. When it comes to their boyfriend, crush, or bestfriend.
Or in my case, a one night stand that girls don't understand.
I mean what part of "Sex only." do they not understand?
Anyways I had caught up to Kyla who was standing behind a plant.
"What are you-" I was cut short by Kyla shushing me. She was so much like a little kid and I loved it. Kept me on edge.
She was staring intently ahead of her. I followed her gaze in complete shock.
Brandon was behind Alena, with a look of pure disgust on his face. Or was he appauled? I'm not sure. Then I noticed Alena and what she was doing and I would be pissed if I was in his shoes.
Alena stood there, smiling like a cheshire cat, grinning from ear to ear as Caden stood smiling in front of her.
His arms were open as if gesturing for a hug. There's no way Alena would be stupid enough to forgive this guy.
Before I could even finish that thought she welcomed his embrace as she squeezed him back. He lifeted her up and spun her around. I felt sick to my stomach. I couldn't imagine what Brandon felt right now.
Again my question was answered when Brandon simply walked away.
Kyla's P.O.V.
I really needed to talk to Alena. Malcom explained who that asshole Caden was and the fact she welcomed him back?
No way in hell would that little shit earn his way back into anyone's, specially Alena's, heart.
He didn't deserve it.
Malcom and I sat behind the plant watching Alena and Caden stay in their embrace for what seemed like forever, and surely Brandon walked away.
I got up to go after her but Malcom grabbed my arm, stopping me.
"Let him go." He spoke gently.
"I can't, I've seen to many things go wrong when you walk away emotionally hurt. Like you don't matter. Something will happen."
"Kyla, he's hid his feelings for a long time, he can handle this, I'm sure." I guess he wasn't going to et me go.
"Fine, I'll give you a ride, wait I'm in Alena's car, no biggie we can go back to my house." I stated not realizing what I feel like I just implied.
"Sounds good, want to watch the notebook?" He said winking and nudging me arm.
I giggled slapping his arm playfully.
We finally got up and 'just happened' to pass by Alena and Caden.
'Kyla come here! This is Caden!" She pretty much screamed, grinning bigger than I've ever seen before.
"Oh, hi." I said, hoping he would get the message that I knew he was an asshole.
'We were just catching up, I'm gonna head to his house for dinner." She smiled.
'Um, you're taking me and Malcom to my house first though right?" I asked.
"Yes! I'll drop you guys off!"
I couldn't take it anymore.
"Alena come here for a second." I said grabbing her and pulling her to the side.
"What's up?" She spoke, popping the P.
"What the hell was that?! Brandon walked away from you 10 minutes ago and you havn't even realized it." I yelled
"What, why?" She sounded so annoyingly stupid.
"Because you just forgave the world's biggest asshole!" I made sure Caden heard me.
"Kyla, you don't underst-" I cut her offf.
"No I understand Alena, the guy who was always there for you, just got blown off for a total prick."
"He's changed, I know it!" She pleaded, the tears building in her eyes.
Malcom came up behind me whispering in my ear. My eyes grew wide.
"Alena, if he has changed so much, then turn around." I said grabbing Alena's shoulders and turning her around, so she had no choice.
"That's no big deal, watch." She strutted away.
What has gotten into her?
Caden.
His ass was grass in my book.
Alena's P.O.V.
I started walking towards Caden.
Kyla thinks she knows he hasn't changed.
Sure he was talking to the biggest slut in school, but his back body language showed no interest.
"Oh my gosh Caden, you are so funny!" Sarah said chewing on her gum like a cow.
Ew.
Her finger twirled through her hair, she looked so stupid.
"I'm so glad you told me to meet you here, I'm glad I told you I was coming back too." Caden responded almost flirtatiously. I brushed it off.
He couldn't possibly be interested in her.
"Well, we can catch up like the night before you left." She said winking.
I went up to tap Caden's shoulder.
I had brushed off the entire conversation I had just heard. He was just being nice right?
As I went to tap his shoulder, hes arms snaked around Sarah's waist, his lips crashing against hers.
I stood there watching their makeout session like an idiot. Eventually Sarah opened her eyes as Caden kissed her neck.
"What are you looking at you little wanna be." She spat.
Caden pulled away turning around staring at me. His mouth hung open.
My eyes filled with tears as he began stuttering.
"Alen- I- er- um"
I simply held my hand up. No I didn't run away. I slowly turned around and walked out of the mall and back to my car.
I unlocked my car, sitting at the driving wheel, then I realized I couldn't hold them any longer.
I placed my forehead on my steering wheel and let the hot tears pour down my face.
