I get the feeling that I did something strange. I mean, I am not sure what, since I remember using magic in front of them when we were in the hut. Did they not see me? Either way, their stares are beginning to hurt.

"So, you're not hurt?" I asked, looking at them in slight concern. They are acting strange after all.

"What makes you think we were hurt?" Luna asked me. Well, now, her questions are now becoming more complex! Kudos to her!

"Um, well, you all are not moving, as if you can't any longer. I thought it might be that you are injured." I mean, I was truly asking in concern for their well being here.

"We're not." Hanna told me abruptly. "More importantly, did you just use magic to heal yourself?"

Although I'm not sure why she's asking, I nodded in her direction. I mean, why is that more important that treating an injury?

"Oh. my!" Rachel exclaimed. Why are you exclaiming over that? It doesn't feel like it should be something to be exclaimed over, though. "To think, you were a noble child!"

I'm a little disappointed here. Did she just call me a child? I mean, I thought 12 in human years was almost middle aged! Does this mean I really am still just a hatchling?! I wonder what a noble is, though.

I cocked my head at them. I wonder if noble is an insult or a compliment. Well, but I don't think they would suddenly insult me. I mean, I think Hanna might. But Rachel seems much nicer than that.

"This will give the guild an excuse to subjugate the orc village. Once its known that a noble was taken, they will surely issue a quest!" Rachel began to speak another language. Seriously, I can't understand anything she just said!

"That's only if they will let this be made known. You know how secretive nobles can be." Hanna glared in my direction.

Why do I feel that she doesn't like me all of a sudden? I mean, she never was overly friendly, but ever since Rachel called me a noble child, she's been sending me death glares.

Its better if I just continue on my journey to find my mother. Goodbye, strange females. It has been interesting interacting with you. I told them farewell in my head as I slid myself slowly away from the strange atmosphere.

"Where are you going?" Ah! Luna caught me with her question!

"Ah...ha. Ha. Ha. Ah, that is, um, I was just gonna.....um, find something to eat? I'm a bit hungry! Yeah! That's what I was doing! I wasn't trying to run away or anything!" I think I managed to pull the wool over their eyes. I better find a good time to leave.

"Of course you are hungry!" Rachel suddenly exclaimed. "You poor thing! Just a small child that was kidnapped by orcs to be a breeder. They probably didn't even think to feed you! Then we just ran here without even thinking about what kind of day its been for you!"

But well, they did feed me. If you could call that food.

"I'm surprised the young miss is able to still stand after all this trauma." I feel that Hanna is talking in a very sarcastic tone. Who is this young miss anyway?

"Hanna! That's enough!" Wow! I never thought that Rachel would express that much anger! She's positively frowning in Hanna's direction. Careful you don't get wrinkles!

"We should probably keep moving. We are not that far from the orc village. They have good nose that can easily track us. We must leave this forest as quickly as possible." Oh yeah! I almost forgot Lillianna was there, she's been so quiet.

"But, Ray!" Rachel began to protest. Hmm, what about me?

"She can just tough it out until we leave this god forsaken forest. I'm not gonna get dragged back because of some noble brat." Wow, Hanna sure is harsh. Who's this she, anyway? Is the noble brat supposed to be me? Sometimes these females talk in a weird way.

Well, without another word, they began to drag me with them again. Seriously, why do I have to go with them?

We walked a good distance more. Rachel wouldn't let go of my hand the entire way. I feel that she's being a bit overprotective. Does she know my mother?

After awhile, we came to a small clearing. Luna stopped suddenly and began to sniff the air. What is she sniffing? I tilted my head to get a whiff too. However, I couldn't really smell anything strange.

The other females stopped as well. They all began to look around nervously.

"What is it, Luna?" Hanna asked her.

"I smell humans." Ah! She said something that wasn't a question! I'm shocked!

"Which way?" Hanna asked urgently.

Luna pointed to the left. "I smell orcs too."

Wah! Two regular sentences! I'm counting them now! This is amazing! I was beginning to think that Beastkin, or maybe just dogkin, can only speak in questions. This blows my theory out of the water. This is like making a brand new discovery!

While I was busy trying to calm the storm Luna's two statements did to me, the females began to shudder.

"What, what do we do?" Rachel asked nervously.

"What can we do?" Hanna snapped back. " If they are kidnapping more breeders, there's nothing we can do. Even if they are adventurers fighting the orcs, we have no weapons we can help them with. We will just get in the way!"

I wonder what they are even arguing about. Isn't it better to just go say hello? Why all this talk of fighting? As I thought. Humans are scary.

I pulled my hand away from Rachel and began to walk in the direction told by Luna.

"Ray! Where are you going?!" Rachel asked in a panic. Seriously, why is she panicking?

"I'm just gonna go take a look. Maybe I can find a clue to find my mother!" I told her. I mean, really. She acts like I'm gonna go fight or something! It's not like its a dragon!

After a short walk, I heard the others following me. Sigh. If you were gonna come anyway, why'd you even argue in the first place?

Up ahead, I could hear a clanging metallic sound. I've never heard a sound like it before. It's really hard to describe, so I won't. Instead, I will sneak closer to the noise to see what's making it!

Just up ahead, I could finally see it. There were five humans and six orcs having a magnificent battle! They were actually using weapons! I had never had the opportunity to witness the use of weapons before, so I watched, fascinated.

There were four males and one female on the human's side. I am pretty sure all the orcs are male. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a female orc, so for all I know, there could be a female among the group in front of me. My gut says otherwise, though.

I'm proud of myself for recognizing the female as such. The tell tale flabby flesh on her chest gave it away. I was only slightly confused with her short hair.

The woman in back had a short staff in her hand, and she was waving it around and saying something in some weird language. A light suddenly covered the four men fighting.

Ah! She must be using light magic too! I recognized the light as a sign from when I use it. Its really slow going, though. I don't know how to fully use it yet.

A man in the back was pulling a string that was attached to a stick. He pulled it back, and launched shorter sticks at the orcs. They flew fast enough that several were sticking out of the orc's bodies. They bellowed. Well, yeah, that had to hurt!

The shortest man kept weaving in and out of the fray. He wielded two short sharp pieces of metal, one in each hand. Every time he jumped in, he stabbed several times with his metal shards.

The other two men had long shards, attached with what appeared to be wood on the end. They held the wood part in their hands as they slashed at the orcs boldly.

On the orcs part, they merely wielded clubs of wood, beating at the men ruthlessly. I wonder if this was some sort of game? Orcs do seem to like to hit their friends. At least, from what my observations have told me. However, somehow, I don't think they are friends.

While I stood there watching the fight, the four females came up behind me.

"We have to help." Hanna said as she frowned at the situation. Eh? I thought you said you couldn't help? Make up your mind, woman!

She turned to look at Luna. Suddenly, she grabbed Luna and pushed her into the fray.

"Ah! Hanna! What are you doing?!" Rachel cried out in surprise.

"What's with you? It's just a beastkin. Besides, beastkin have five times the strength of humans. She'll be able to help even if she just hits them with her fists." Hanna replied sourly.

Somehow, I cant bring myself to like Hanna. She's just like I would imagine a typical human. Heartless, and greedy to subjugate those who are stronger, while enslaving those who can't fight back. I'm glad I was born a dragon, and not a human. Oh, wait.

She looked over at Lillianna. Ah! Don't tell me, she's gonna push her in, too! Hmm, and to think, it seems she doesn't like me either. I feel that I would be next on her pushing list.

"Elf. Don't you have spirit magic? Commune with the spirits and help out, or I will push you in too!" Hanna made an unreasonable statement.

I couldn't help but to glance at the poor previously pushed Luna. She had stood up, only to be kicked back by an orc who happened to see her. She crashed into a tree and lay still. Yikes, that looked like it hurt.

Lillianna saw it too, and gulped. Her eyes began to turn a deep blue, and pretty lights flittered around her face. She pointed at the orcs. The lights flew towards them. However, it didn't seem to do much except to grab their attention. That, and make them slightly damp. Where those water spirits?

"IDIOT!" Hanna yelled as she pushed her into the fight. An orc immediately grabbed Lillianna's hair and dragged her away from the fight. Lillianna began to scream.

"Hanna! You're going too far!" Rachel reprimanded her. Well, I'm not sure what she thought that would do. The damage was done. This is why you should never just jump into a fight unprepared. I mean, at least figure out why they were fighting!

The other orcs and humans finally noticed us standing here. Well, it's about time. I know you were busy with your fight, but two people randomly showed up, one after the other! I would be wondering where they were coming from the first time someone appeared!

Of coarse, the females' argument did not stop the orcs from coming over here. Are they planning on tying us up on a log again? If they do, they had better give me something better to eat.

Unless they were angry that we were interrupting their fight. In that case, I'm out of ideas. What to do in this situation. I mean, all I really want is to find clues to my mother's whereabouts. What is with all this fighting around me?

I decided there's no time like the present. There are plenty of people here who could possibly know something. I might as well ask.

Opening my mouth, I looked at the nearest orc. "Excuse me. You wouldn't happen to know anything about a big beast fight three months ago, would you?"

My utterance caused all present to pause and look at me. Did I really say something so strange?

"Little girl, speak orc?" I think my orc is a bit rusty. Maybe he meant boy? Did I get it confused?

"Ah, yes. I speak orc. Just not very well, it seems. So, about that beast fight." I continued. I'm determined to get some answers.

"I like! I keep you!" He laughed while reaching for me. Why does this scene look familiar?

"No! I keep! Good wench who talk orc!" Another orc hit his way to me.

"No! Me like wench first! Me take girl!" Suddenly it was an all out brawl. What was happening here? Why does this always happen? At least answer my question!

I frowned as I watched the fight. The other humans seemed to be in a daze, as they too watched the orcs strike each other.

Lillianna lay on the ground, forgotten. Ah, sorry about that. Where you playing with that orc? She seemed a bit dazed as well.

Luna crawled to her feet and watched the fight too. Blood was leaking from the corner of her mouth. Hey! Are you okay? She stood there on wobbly legs, and leaned against the tree she crashed into.

After a brief fight, only one orc remained on shaky legs. He walked slowly over to me with a weird grin on his face.

"Um, the beast fight?" I tried to ask again. The orc simply lunged at me. Before he could reach me, though, a long metal object pieced his body and he fell to the ground.

Eh? Did he just die? I looked up from the orc's body. A human that had been fighting earlier stared at me.

"What did you do to the orcs?" He asked me with a serious look on his face.

Um. But all I did was ask a question!
