Kevin woke up in his bed room. He yawned and stretched as he usually would before sitting up and looking around his room. Directly across from his double bed, was his wife's wardrobe, and his dresser pushed up against it, and both of those items, equally protruded from the wall. Situated next to those items was a table, small, and hip high, but on it sat a few of their personal pictures. Ranging from romantic to simply goofy. On his left, was the bed room door, closed as he left it, and to it's side was a coat rack. This side shows off the wall paper, which was something his wife picked out. It appeared to depict a horse race of some sort, but he wasn't entirely sure if that was true, considering it was a jumbled mess of patterns as most wall papers are. And to his right, was where the bed room window stood in the wall, letting in plenty of light. However, there was something knew in his room. To the left of the window sat a chair that he had never scene before, and on that chair sat a man. Not very well dressed, and if anything he looked like a mess. "Oh, finally awake are we?" He asked politely.

"What are you doing here?" Kevin asked him back.

The man frowned, not happy with that answer. "So this is going to be another one of those days huh? Sad that day after day, you can't even remember me."

"That doesn't answer my question."

The man held up his hands defensively. "No, I suppose not. I'm here to help you."

This was an answer that Kevin didn't like this time around. "I don't need your help. I don't need anyone's help, and especially not from someone that looks as much of a mess as you do."

The man chuckled. "Oh? And have you looked in a mirror recently? Point is friend, you need my help remembering something. This will be our last session before I consider you to be beyond help. So, before you deny me, I want you to wonder, why are you not scared? I mean, you just woke up, and found some stranger sitting in your room."

This was a silly question, but it raised some points, all of which Kevin couldn't answer. "Alright, and I guess you have the answer right?"

"Sure. But just continue to be curious. Curious about why you're not scared." He stood from his chair and waved his hands around. "Look around the room, real closely."

Kevin did exactly that. Sure enough, the room had changed. The wall paper was the most noticeable change in the room. The horse racing had been replaced by a plan white wall. "What the heck is that?" He asked, slightly frightened this time.

"What you need to see, to show you the truth. Now I know this sounds crazy, and it more than likely will be, but hows that dresser and closet holding up?"

Kevin looked over to where the two items were. The dresser was still there next to the closet set into the wall. "Their still there." Kevin replied looking over to the man again.

"There was a closet in your bedroom? Are you sure it wasn't a wardrobe?"

Kevin looked over again. Neither of those items looked the same anymore. The closet and wardrobe were gone, and the dresser was replaced with a much cheaper version, and to his distress, the table had been replaced with a version that had a lot less top space and only had one picture of his wife. Kevin, now upset, looked back to the man, even got out of bed, and took a few steps toward him. "Alright, what are you playing at here?"

The man shrugged. "This isn't the first time we have done something like this. It just so happens this is the most we have been able to do in one day. You just can't stand to look at yourself can you?"

"What do you mean?"

The man pointed over to the bed. "Alright, I want you to picture what the bed looked like last time you saw it."

"That's stupid, I just got up from it."

The man shook his head. "Not how you last pictured it, but how you last saw it. Don't go by memory, go by what feels true."

"That's stupid." Kevin said as he turned toward the bed. "That doesn't even make se-" That was when he saw the bed. It wasn't how it ever should have looked. Her side of the bed, was colored with red. So much red, but it couldn't have been what he thought it was.

"Did she upset you? Did she wrong you?" The man asked from behind. "You must understand what you're looking at."

Kevin continued to stare. "But I didn't mean to... We..." Kevin's anger began to boil out of control, he was getting upset, that was for sure. "I didn't mean to..."

"Go ahead, what was your last memory of her."

Kevin thought back. "Yesterday, we just got back from a trip to Vegas."

"How much money did she gamble away?"

"What?"

"How many men did you find out about?"

Kevin was about to show that man exactly what happened to her. "Wait, what did I just think?"

"I know, but just try and think, when did you go to bed that night? You didn't did you? Now blink."

Kevin did. When his eyes opened, the bed had changed again. It was now a one man bed, no blood, and bolted to the ground. It was now a cheap spring mattress. None of this made any sense. "What are you doing to me?" Kevin asked, turning on the man once more, and taking a few more steps toward him.

"Helping you see the truth, like you have been wanting to, but just too afraid to see it. Are we even in your bed room anymore?"

Kevin knew the answer to that question without looking around. But he looked to the right anyway. The window was smaller now, and barred. "No, I'm somewhere else." He then took another step closer to the man, looking at him once more. "But you can't just do this to me. I was happier!"

"You were lying. It's been a year, the anniversary is today. An entire year, and what do you have to show for it!"

Kevin rubbed his forehead. "I didn't want this."

"I wouldn't be here now if you didn't."

"Yeah? And who exactly do you think you are?" Kevin asked as he jabbed his right index finger into the mans chest. It was harder than expected. Smoother. And even colder.

"I don't know, why don't you look in a mirror." The man said before he, and the chair faded away, leaving only the mirror that had stood in his cell room for the whole year. And standing in the mirror, was the man, pointing his finger right on back at Kevin.
