Scarlett's POV
Recap:
"Vincent, where are we going?" I asked him, his only reply was just staring blankly at the road. We came up to a stop. I looked up and noticed where we were.
A cemetery.
"I want you to meet someone special..."

He lead me towards a grave, the headstone was just a small angel, who looked scared. Engraved in cursive read:
'Here Lies April Edwards, So Young And Innocent. We'll Miss Your Beautiful Soul.'
His sister. He took me to 'meet' his little sister where she was buried. Looking over at him and finally seeing him the most vulnerable that I've ever seen somebody. Vincent sat beside the grave and gently brushed his fingertips against it, he held back tears that were threatening to spill out of his eyes.
Minutes went by that we sat in silence, I couldn't find what to say and Vincent seemed to be deep in thought. Soon he spoke up.
"Hey Panda, sorry I haven't visited you in a while...There's, um, someone that I think you should meet. Her name is Scarlett, she's one of the most amazing girls I know...well next to you. I think that you'd like her," he said, speaking softly to the grave. He turned towards me waiting for me to introduce myself.
I gave a small smile to the statue,"Hello April, I'm Scarlett...it's nice to meet you."
My smile soon faded when I look over and see Vincent's red rimmed eyes. I reached for his hand, taking it into mine and giving him a reassuring squeeze.
"She was so young...and I-I couldn't protect her," he mumbled quietly, I was about to say something until he continued," it was three years ago, I was just some dumb, little 14 year old kid. April had just turned nine that day and I told her to wait for me while I grabbed her gift out of our parent's car. She followed me, I knew I should've told her to go back inside and wait...I had gotten her a jewelry making kit, she loved going down to the hospital where our mom worked and make things for the sick kids. When I turned my back from her and in that moment, some asshole came speeding by and shot at us. She got hit in bad places..she passed away at the hospital. Her death was all my fault.." he was sobbing at the end, tears covered his face. I pulled him into a tight hug, trying to comfort Vincent so he'd calm down.
"It's not your fault, it was the guy who shot at you and her's fault," I whispered softly into his ear.
"No, it's my fault she was even out there and my fault that guy even shot at us!" he screamed angrily, slamming his fist on the grass.
"Adam, Chase, Ryder and I wanted to form our own little 'gang'. We got into a little fight with some gang that said that we were in their 'territory'. It turned out to be Aidan's gang. At first it started with a few pranks here and there. One of our pranks had gotten out of hand and it ended up with burning down their house..
"I try everyday to forgive myself for what happened, but I can't. I miss April so much, she was my little sister and I failed at protecting her..." he placed his face in his hands, and I honestly didn't know how to take it all in.
"Vincent, April wouldn't want you to blame yourself for all of this. You didn't mean for it to go that far...If she were here she'd understand," I quietly mumbled that last part, somewhat hoping that he hadn't heard me.
We spent about ten more minutes there just sitting around at the young girl's grave. We left a small bouquet of purple tulips that had been in Vincent's car, which were his sisters favorite flower. Soon we were on the road for about five minutes until Vincent spoke.
"Okay, um, enough with all of my emotional baggage..I think it's about time that I finally introduce you to my friends," he said and suddenly I felt anxious.
His friends had a bad reputation at school and a wave of questions exploded inside of my head. What if they don't like me? What if I make a fool out of myself? They'll most likely hate me, or think I'm some weirdo...
Vincent had said that we were going to Chase's house since that is where his friends were at. The area was a pretty nice neighborhood. Once we entered the house, I could feel my nervousness slip away.
"Hey Vince...oh, hey Scarlett, nice to meet you. I'm Adam," the tall guy spoke answering the door. Adam had gray eyes, dark chocolate brown hair that was wild, and standing at over 6 foot, he wore a white t shirt with black skinny jeans.
"Hey Adam, it's great to meet you too," I smiled at him, walking into the house.
"It's nice to meet the girl that Vince won't shut up about!" he laughed and playfully punched Vincent's shoulder, I could see his cheeks darken a bit at that comment. Somehow thinking that made me smile, Vincent..talks about me? I wonder what he says...
"Honey I'm home!" a deep voice boomed from behind us into the house. Ryder strutted into the room, and engulfed me into a bear hug. I stood there awkwardly, attempting to get out of his rock solid grip. Laughter filled the room at my uncomfort.
"Okay, that's enough, Ryder let go of her," Vincent sounded slightly agitated, I was released from the most awkward hug ever into the protective arms of Vincent.
"And now I guess you've met Ryder..." a voice said from the kitchen who I guessed to be Chase. Next to him sat a girl maybe a year or two younger than me. She had the same eyes and nose as him.
"This little dork here is my sister Jamie."
"Hey," she smiled, her hair was blonde and curly which was opposite of Chase's jet black hair, other than that they had the same green eyes and slightly crooked nose.
We all continued talking and laughing. I got to know the guys and Jamie pretty well, they all seemed to be nothing like what their reputation said. I felt like they were all taking a liking to me when my phone began to ring.
It was a from Aidan.
Shit.
