A/N: Alright so this is going to be a little angsty and sad, and nit has to do with a drunk George after the war, so if this bothers you and you don't want to read this one then don't. At the end it will be more light hearted. Soo here we go.
Drunk and in Pain {George Weasley}
Pain and grief were the only things George Weasley had been feeling for almost a month now. His brother was gone, dead, killed in the Great Battle that was supposed to help wizard kind. Instead, to George and many other people, it had caused only pain. Pain that George didn't want to feel, pain that George only wanted to go away. When it first settled in that Fred was actually gone, all he did was sit around in his room and mope, and nobody was going to stop him. After all he did lose his twin brother.
After a two weeks however people began checking on George, trying to make sure that he was okay, to show that they cared. He finally got up, but he didn't exactly start running the joke shop. He started going to bars and getting extremely drunk, he wanted the pain to go away so he drank and forgot. But in the mornings, when he'd wake up at the flat not even knowing how he got there, George would remember everything, and became a zombie. This went on for a another two weeks, and the only person that knew of everything that went on was Ginny Weasley. His little sister.
Ginny worked at The Three Broomsticks, where her brother came, very often. Ginny was angry, sad, and frustrated with her brother all at once. She was angry with him because he was practically throwing his life away and he was stuck in one place. She was sad because he was her brother and not seeing a smiling George set her on edge, until recently she had never seen George frown. She was frustrated because every time she tried to reach out to him, he pushed her away. Claiming that he was fine on his own. So she decided to get another person to help her because clearly she wasn't getting through to him. So she went to Lee Jordan.
Lee tried to get through to George, but it didn't work at all. He went to George's house to try and comfort him. All he did was find a Drunk George who wanted nothing to do with any body. Lee used soft words trying to get his friend to calm down but George wasn't going to have it. He yelled and yelled at Lee, yelled at Lee about things that wasn't even about Lee himself. Instead it was ranting about how if the dark lord had never been born then his brother wouldn't be dead. Every day for those two weeks Lee went over to his friends house to try and help, but he had applied for an editing job in America and had to leave in two days.
Poor Ginny felt useless. Finally she came to a decision that somebody who didn't know George as well as everybody else could help him. So she went to her friend Jayne Anderson, a Slitherin that had been in Fred and George's year for help. She figured if anybody could get to him it was the pretty blonde.
"Thanks for meeting up with me on quick notice Jay." Ginny said as Jayne came into the pub.
"Hey, it's no problem. In your letter you sounded urgent, the Flower shop is closed on Tuesday's So I have no work right now."
Ginny laughed, "Wow, work is always first isn't it."
"Well duh, making bouquets are my life. Any way, what did you need Ginny?"
Ginny's face fell. "It's George," She watched as Jay tensed, "He keeps getting wasted night after night thinking it will stop the pain but it isn't doing him any good and you know that. I...I need you to talk some sense into him Jayne."
"Why me? He barely even knows me, I doubt he'd even listen to me."
"That's why I need you to do it. I tried, Lee tried. I couldn't tell my siblings or my parents what he does here, it would break their hearts. I feel like he'd listen to you because you felt the same way when you had lost your sister."
"Alright. I'll give it my best shot. If I can't reach him in the after this month, we are going to you mother understood?"
"Jay..."
"No Ginny, I'm serious. He might need your mothers help not mine. I'm going to try, but it may not be enough,"
"I understand, I guess,"

Walking in George took his usual seat and ordered his normal glass of fire whiskey to start. Half way through his drink, he felt like somebody was watching him. Looking around in the bar, he saw a young woman with blonde hair and stormy gray eyes and she looked familiar. . The girls eyes were turned on him and filled with disappointment and for some odd reason, that made George feel really uncomfortable. Acting as if he hadn't seen her, he went back to his drink, not that long after George was drunk. Now it was Jayne's time to act, she walked up to the bar and asked for a Butterbeer, then sat down next to the read head.
"George Weasley, right?" Jayne started.
"Yeah, that's me. Who are you?" George said, his words slightly slurred together.
The girl sighed, causing George to become uncomfortable. "I'm Jayne Anderson, we went to school together."
"We did? What house were you in?"
"Slytherin." She had an uncomfortable look on her face knowing something was going to go wrong.
"Really! Then it's your fault!" George shouted.
"What's my fault George?" She asked even though she knew the answer.
"That my brother is dead, hes gone and people like you killed him!"
Jayne got mad, she couldn't help it. He was putting a stereotype on her house that wasn't always right. She knew he really felt this was because alcohol just lowers your ability to control your self at time but it never changes the way you feel. She should't get mad, he'd lost a family member but so did she and she wasn't even allowed to help fight for her school, and he had no idea what had happened. HE couldn't remember. He was drunk. She shouldn't have said anything buy she did.
"What do you mean people like me." She said angrily.
"Slytherins's all of you are filthy lying cheep bastards!" Jayne hit him on the back of the head, she was done being nice. "Ow what was that for?"
Jayne looked him straight in the eye, hazel meeting gray, "That is where you are very wrong! Not all of us are that way. Some of them like me just wanted to get through school so we could go out in the world and actually do something! That day off the battle I wasn't aloud to fight, because I was a slytherin. You know what happened that same day? My little sister fought and died. That should have been me. She had everything to live for, she had a loving boyfriend, she had so many friends, she wanted to be a florist, but she died when she was sixteen years old.
"I chose to live my life for her because that is what she would want. That's what your brother would want for you. Yet you are sitting here drinking your life away. I know you probably don't give a rats arse about what I'm saying. Or won't remember it. I'm going to march to your house tomorrow morning and tell you all of this again. I won't tolerate you ruining yourself because of your grief, even you don't deserve that."
The next day, George remembered everything, he was still sober enough to be able to process it. Then it hit him like a sucker punch, he'd neglected everything he used to care for all because he was grieving. Jayne was right. She was right about everything, and he needed help big time. So he wrote a letter to Jayne, He really hoped that the owl knew where to go. The last thing he needed was some muggle woman named Jayne in America to end up with his letter.

Jayne was in her floral shop in Hogsmede trying to get the Delightful Daffodils to stop making rude comments that they had learned from people outside. After a little bit of nothing working, she just used a simple silencing charm and wen to work with normal Daffodils. After trimming and arranging the flowers mixed with a few daisies, Jayne admired her work. The bouquet was simple, but absolutely beautiful. In Jayne's opinion, sometimes the most simple were the most beautiful of all, just because they were plain, and you didn't have to peel away all the layers to see what was on the inside. Abruptly, there was a loud banging sound on one of the windows. Going over to the window, there was a dazed brown owl perched on her window sill.
"Uhhh" Jayne stuttered, she had never received mail. Ever. Usually her mother just showed up unexpectedly, and her dad just wasn't around much. Turning over the letter she read who had sent it to her. "What!? Weasley actually sent me a letter!"
Jayne,
Hi. I don't really know you, but your really helped knock a little bit of sense into my sorry ass. I want to thank you for that, I owe you big time. I know I probably don't deserve this but... Is there anyway we could keep talking, I don't really have anyone else to turn to and I probably need more help. Oh god this letter sounds so cheesy. Sorry if it made you feel really uncomfortable, you don't have to reply.
Love,
George

After George send the letter, he really didn't know what to do. That's when the worrying kicked in. He started to wonder if Jayne had gotten his letter, then he stared to worry about me what she thought. First he thought she wasn't going to say anything to him because she was mad at him. Then he thought she'd send a hurtful reply. It got so bad to the point were he started pacing in circles around his flat. 'what if she didn't get it, after all he did use Errol. Errol was getting on in years, he also didn't know where Jayne lived so that could be a problem.
Three days later, Errol did come back, and with a letter. George grew nervous, he couldn't remember the last time he was this nervous he opened the letter with shaking hands
Hey George,
I'm glad I was able to help you. I'm happy to hear you still want to talk to me. I think of that my yelling at you had made you want to stay away, anywho next Tuesday I'm free if you would like to meet up just. Let me know what time and where, I'll be there.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Jayne Anderson
George was so excited that he felt like a teenage girl falling over her Crush. He ran to his dresser to write a reply.

After going to meet George at Florean Fortescue's ice cream parlor around noon on Tuesday, James found herself getting more and more excited to see him as Tuesday grew closer. Finally when the day came Jayne had a wide smile on her face. Jayne through on a tank top that had Lily's all over it and some denim shorts. She put her shoulder length blonde hair into a French Braid and she was ready for the day. The only problem with that, was the fact that it was only 10 a.m. leaving her about an hour and a half of absolutely nothing to do. Sighing, Jayne walked out of her shop (which was under her flat) to the three broomsticks to see if Ginny was working. Looking for her the youngest Weasley had been working.
"Oh, Jay you're here! I've been meaning to thank you. So... Thank you! Also the outfit looks really cute!"
Jayne blinking surprised, Ginny hadn't been that happy in a while. "Thanks! But what are you thinking me for?"
"For helping my brother, whatever you did really work! For the past week he's only gotten butterbeer or maybe a shot of fire whiskey but other than that he's been great! He's also been super smiley."
Jayne smiled, clearly she wasn't the only one excited to meet up."I was actually going to meet up with him today'
Ginny smirked " Really? Where are you two going?"
"The ice cream parlor. "
Ginny laughed " I gotta get back to work. See ya."
Ginny knew that while they had been at Hogwarts, Jayne had a small crush on her brother. Jayne's little sister, Reina, had told her so, and in all honesty, Ginny had shipped it to to no end. Even though Jayne had been a last resort, she really hope she and George got together.
Jayne decided to head to Diagon Alley a little early, to look around the shops. Much to her dismay, a few of them we're still remain closed, at least Flourish and Blotts were still open. Going in, Jayne walked over to the herbology section, looking to see if there were any new books. Much to her Delight, there was one but she couldn't read it it was too high on the Shelf, and Jayne being Jayne was too stubborn to get help. So she still on her tiptoes to try and read it until....
" You know, we aren't at school anymore, so you can use magic to get it."
Turning around, there was an amused looking George standing there. Before she could retort he reached up behind her and grab the book, and then held it out for her to take.
She took it from him"Thank you." Without another word feeling embarrassed she walked away to pay. All well George did they with the stupid grin on his face.
To the table with ice cream both 20 year olds were sitting there awkwardly. Both of them not knowing what to say finally Jayne spoke up.
"So Ginny said you're getting better," She said, breaking the ice.
"Yep! And its all thanks to your anger. I'm sorry about what I said, but I've just been so angry."
Jane smiled softly, "I know how you feel. It will get better, I promise."
**Time skip 2 weeks**
"So you're staying for dinner!" Molly said completely happy that her son was home.
"Yeah, And I invited a friend," George said.
Ginny, who had just walked in from work, eyes widened, "Hold on, friend you mean.."
George nodded his head and his sister squealed then ran off to her room. Molly's eyes widened in surprise, her son hadn't invite anyone over in a while.
"What time did you tell them to come?" she asked.
"Five thirty."
Molly looked at the clock, "Thats,... Right now! George why didn't you tell me earlier!"
"Uuhh"
There was a loud crack outside and then a knock on the door. Molly watch the door, opened it and saw young woman standing there. Molly gave her son one of those "really" looks before turning to Jayne.
"Hello dear, you must be George's friend!"
"Yep, that's me. I'm Jayne, nice to meet you."
"Same to you dear, dinner is almost ready why don't you come on in."
Jane gave one of her awkward smiles and walked in and sat down next to George on the sofa. Well, more like perched on the edge of the sofa. Molly decided to leave her son with the girl for a moment and go check on dinner.
George grinned, "Relax, there not going to hurt you."
"Ugh, I feel so jittery and I don't know why. George what do I even say?"
"Well, for starters you could say what comes to mind?" he joked.
Jayne glared at him, "That isn't what I meant and you know it."
George still grinning said, " I know but Mom will love you no matter what. You'll be fine."
"I hope you're right."
Molly hearing the last part of this conversation decided that it was as good place to interrupt, "Dinners ready!"
Jayne sat at the table, there was way more food on it since she had ever seen in her whole life and all of it look delicious. She wasn't super hungry but the amount of food on the table made her think that she wasn't going to be able to leave the table without eating at least a plate. The dinner was a very peaceful one nothing major happened.
" So what is it that you do dear?" Mrs Weasley asked.
"I'm a florist. My shop is actually in Hogsmeade," Jayne said proudly.
"Really! Oh that's really cool! I should check it out!" The woman said.
"That sounds lovely."
After that are Mrs. Weasley pulled out the photo album of Fred and George's childhood.
"Mum, no!" George groaned.
Jayne chuckled, "Aw, is little Georgie embarrassed."
"No I'm not," George muttered, his face turning red.
Jayne smiled and told him down next to him on the sofa. Then looked at Mrs. Weasley as if getting ready to listen. Molly Weasley told the duo tons of stories attached to each picture. Molly watched as Jayne Teased George on more than one occasion and he would get very red.
"And then-" Molly felt like she was talking to thin air. Looking. To her side, she saw Jayne and George sleeping next to her. She smiled and grab the blanket from the back of the couch and placed it over the the two.
"Good night, dears."
**2 months later**
George was running around everywhere trying to find his mum. Over the past few months he and Jayne had gotten closer and closer to the point where the young man had developed feelings for her. He wanted to ask her out, but he was beyond nervous about it so he decided to consult his mother.
"George you know better than to run on the stairs," Molly scolded.
"Mum, how do you ask a girl out?"
"Well... wait? Who is it? Who are you asking?" Molly questioned excitedly.
"J-jayne."
Molly's whole face lit up like a light bulb "really! My son is growing up."
Clearly he wasn't going to get anywhere, so he just left the house to meet Jayne right after his mother was done gushing about them.
Jayne and George met up at a small Cafe in London. The place is really cute, it kind of had an African theme to it. There was grass wallpaper on the upper parts of the walls, there were pictures of lion zebras and giraffes. Other pictures of pictures of Orphans at the cafe made money to donate to. The two sat at a table for two after ordering.
"So how's work?" He asked
Jayne's lit up, "it's in really well, and old woman came in yesterday and bought for by case for each of her daughters, she gave their personality traits to design the box to match them, is that sweet? Wait, are you okay?"
"Pardon?"
"What's wrong you look nervous" Jayne said confused
"Well, I didn't want to ask you to after but, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes." she didn't even hesitate.
The end.
