Annalise sat on the wooden bed, watching Scott as he put a certain liquid on her foot. The pain was replaced with a numbness, making her feet buzz uncomfortably. She wasn't complaining about it, but was instead thankful for the kindness he offered her. But her mind was elsewhere altogether, nonetheless.
She couldn't stop thinking about Void and the way he made her feel in those moments they shared together. She cloud almost feel the guilt eating away at her, like a hawk on the dead. She felt as if she had already betrayed the Gods without consenting to Void. But curiosity will always get the best of her.
"We are done!" Scott said happily while smiling at Annalise, her heart swelling at his adorable grin. She smiled back and gently let her feet touch the ground once again.
"I owe you a great deal ... merci." Annalise thanked him sincerely and he shrugged, looking behind her obviously thinking about saying something. He seemed conflicted with himself for a few seconds before he decided to speak his mind.
"What exactly were you doing in those woods?"
Annalise heart beat picked up as his warm chocolate eyes stared deeply into hers, as if he knew what she was thinking. She was about to lie once again but a loud knock came to the huts door. Scott took a once over of Annalise before turning and walking to the door.
Opening the hut, Scott came face to face with the familiar face of Jackson Whittemore, one of his friends. Annalise didn't ever speak or even glance his way as his reputation wasn't the best, having heard of some pretty horrible things he has done to folks around town. He also was just like Issac, but slightly worse.
He was the perfect fit for a womanizer, dirty blonde hair and deep green eyes. His face was a gift as his structure was all muscle. Annalise didn't find him attractive in the very least, on the inside at least. And she will probably never feel anything for as long as she will live.
Annalise knew that Lydia Martin and himself were infatuated with each other but have never put a label on them. Instead they would be caught sneaking around town together, doing stuff Annalise rather not think about.
Jackson noticed Annalise immediately and a skeptical look arose on his face. Glancing between the two, his face became contorted into a dubious look.
"Allison is wondering where you are, but I guess this is an exception." Jackson smirked slightly while turning to Annalise, winking distastefully. Annalise mouth widened as her eyes grew big at the hint of certain intercourse suggestion.
"I was just helping her with a few things, Jackson. Allison has Isaac to be with, anyways." Scott said rather harshly, anger beginning to show on his features as he glared at Jackson. He put his hands up in surrender, laughing slightly.
"Whatever you say man, I'm not one to judge." Jackson then turned around away from the hut and began to walk away from the two without another word. Scott angrily cursed under his breathe before turning back to Annalise with fire in his eyes.
"So, Allison?" Annalise asked while pulling the shoes that he had given her on. Scott sighed loudly before nodding his head gently.
"She was my first everything until Isaac came along then..." Scott didn't finish but he didn't need to. Annalise gave him a sorrowful look puckering her lips gently.
"Well you deserve someone that will not take you for granted. Plus, you seemed pretty infatuated with Kira when I mentioned her." Annalise smiled teasingly at Scott, a blush dusting his tan skin. He motioned for him to follow her, and gladly did so. The two walked into the busy streets before continuing their conversation.
"Kira, y-yeah she is lovely as well."
His voice cracked slightly making a giggle escape Annalise. Scott glared playfully at her but laughed as well. Kira no doubt had feelings for Scott, having talking so highly of Scott whenever she brought him up.
"Well you should maybe ask her on a romantic occasion, I'm almost positive she returns the same amount of affection." Annalise shrugged, looking at Scott for any reaction and was happy to see him hide a smile.
"Well, here we are." Scott motioned towards a largely sized cottage stopping in his tracks. "If you don't want to come-"
"I'll be fine," Annalise reassured as Scott gave her a worry filled glance, "Might as well make friends at some point."
Scott shook his head slightly with a smile on his face before guiding her to the front stope of the house. Knocking gently, the door almost immediately opened. Allison stood there with a smile on her face when seeing Scott, but it immediately fell as her eyes met Annalise.
"Scott, why is she here?" Allison asked while eyeing Annalise up and down, her beginning to feel self conscious of her dress and features.
"She's a friend of mine and Kira's, you know that." Scott spoke harshly at the girls bluntness before putting his hand on Annalise's back and guiding her in the house. Annalise offered Allison a warm smile but didn't receive one in return, only a cold stare.
Scott brought Annalise into what was the living room, a fireplace crackling in the corner with a group of people talking. Once they heard the commotion, every single eye shot to the two.
"Scott, looks like you did decide to come." Jackson spoke from the furniture he sat on in the corner with a arm around the strawberry blonde girl, Lydia Martin. Isaac smiled at the two while another girl Annalise knew sat next to him. Her name was Malia Tate and she was fairly knew in town.
Short dirty blonde hair that cascaded down to her shoulders, striking features as well as a tall and skinny physique. Annalise felt nervous with all the gazes she felt on herself, twirling a strand of her silky brown hair between her fingers.
"Annalise, how are you?" Isaac asked with worry on his features and she was surprised at his sudden care for her.
"I-I'm wonderful." Annalise smiled politely at him but her nerves were still on edge. She saw the looks that everyone gave each other, as if they knew that she felt out of place.
"Allison! Why don't we go show Annalise around?" Lydia pipped up cheerily as a certain brunette came into her vision. Annalise turned to see Allison standing with her arms folded, leaning against the wall behind her.
"Great idea Lydia!" Scott chimed in feigning excitement, nudging Annalise with his shoulder. A large grin overcame Lydia's features as she stood up and out of Jackson's arms.
"I'll just stay down here, Lydia. You can show her around." Allison said rather distastefully while going to replace Lydia's spot on the couch. Lydia watched her friend give Annalise a cold shoulder, a frown now set on her beautiful face.
"Well, come along Annalise." Lydia spoke to her, motioning with her hands to follow. Annalise caught up to her as she was already pacing towards the stairway. The two made it up the stairs, Lydia then taking a left down a hall where two doors were. Opening the first one, Annalise was soon in a fairly neat room with paintings hanging on the walls.
"I made those ones myself. Quite proud of it, really." Lydia spoke to her she watched Annalise eye the paintings hung on her wooden walls. Annalise looked at Lydia with impressed eyes, not expecting the girl to have a special talent besides gossip.
"I have my own art room, would you care to see?" Lydia asked while taking small steps outside the room.
"I don't see why not." Annalise spoke with a small shrug of her shoulders. They made their way out of the small room and down the opposite hall. Lydia opened the last door slowly, a creaking noise sounding.
The room she was then met with was larger than the other, exceptionally larger. Lanterns were lit all across the room, illuminating against the dark walls. Annalise recognized the different materials set about the room. She actually used to draw when she was younger, a decent amount too, but stopped after her life went downhill.
Annalise walked to the center were a sketchbook sat with a pencil beside it. She could feel Lydia's gaze on her as her delicate fingers gently glided over the paper.
"Do you draw?" Lydia asked as she walked slowly beside the girl, watching as a small smile light onto Annalise features.
"When I was younger, yes. But I haven't really had time to for a while." Annalise spoke truthfully because she didn't. But, she also didn't have the spirit.
"Well, I'm going to head back down." Lydia told the girl but spoke once more, "You may stay if you please. Maybe catch up with yourself a bit."
Annalise smiled gratefully at the girl, more as to she didn't want to be in awkwardness once again. Lydia gave her a smile in return, dimples and all. Lydia walked to the door before closing it completely, Annalise alone once more.
Finally, she had time to think about everything she went through. Not being able to get her mind off the Angel that seemed to have attached itself to her submissively. She felt butterflies consume her being so she did the only thing she could think to do. She drew.
Annalise didn't even have to think, as her hand was already gliding with the pencil along the thick sheet of paper. She was engrossed in herself as she drew. She found herself drawing him from mere memory.
From the brown locks to the black wings that consumed her once. She was infatuated without any physical contact. She felt a certain desire to be with him, or even near him and she had no idea why.
Maybe that's how it was supposed to be, he would attract girls like herself to fall into his traps, only to be abandoned when he was done with them. One thought after the other came, and before she realized it, she had drawn him completely.
His wings stayed rested at his side, bundled up instead of being at the terrifying potential she had seen. She outlined every part of his face with great persistence. The constellation of his own stars upon his face, made from the gods to its greatest perfection, was beautifully set about.
Instead of the soulless black pits she had encountered the second time, she drew the beautiful eyes with long lashes that cascaded against his cheek whenever his eyes would close. She also added the dark pits under his eyes that gave him an eerie presence, as if he had never thought of the word sleep before. Annalise knew she was in deep trouble, and she hadn't fallen into temptations, yet anyway.
A loud knock came from the door startling the girl. It opened without an answer and she was met with Alison peaking into the room with a skeptical look. Seeing as the girl was still there, sketchbook in hand, she sighed before speaking.
"Scott has requested you leave." Annalise nodded without another word and gently set the sketchbook down, not thinking about the drawing she left there for others to see. Annalise walked quickly past the girl without a word, and hurried down the stairwell.
Scott stood in the living room with him talking to Isaac, almost looking as if they were angry at each other. Annalise coughed to signal she was present, and everyone's head shot up at her.
"Ready?" Scott asked and Annalise nodded, not needing to speak.
"Well I'll see you around, Annalise?" Isaac asked offering his hand for her to shake, a flattering grin on his face.
"Hopefully not." Annalise spoke blankly, giggles coming from Lydia while Scott just smiled.
"Goodbye, Annalise." Lydia then said while walking towards her with a wide smile on her face. She touched Annalise's arm, and just like that everything went wrong.
Lydia stood there frozen in fear, her hand beginning to grasp Annalise's arm tightly. Annalise repeated Lydia's name, Scott and Issac doing the same. Allison came into the room to see what the fuss was about, and her eyes widened at the sight.
Lydia stood there, her breathe uneven and jerky as she grasped onto Annalise's arms forcefully. A cry in pain sounded from Annalise as her grip became much too tight. Alison gently laid her hand on the side of Lydia's face as she seemed to be in a preposition.
Finally, Annalise was let go from her bruising grip and watched as Lydia came back from the episode. A scared and fearful look was plastered on her face, hands shaking as tears soon welled up.
"He's here ... He's here!"
Annalise felt her heart drop as those words came from Lydia, and she knew exactly what she was referring to. Annalise suddenly felt the urge to run, so that's exactly what she did. Turning around she sprinted out the door with Scott calling after her, but she was too fast.
The night was approaching once more and she knew she had to return home before anything worse happened to her. Taking off towards the gates while clumsily knocking into people, she ran with the sounds of her name being called.
She ran all the way back to her village, wanting to go back to her normal life. The life she had before the night of her sisters death, before everything went to hell. She wanted everything to just stop, and rewind.
