Princess Hazel was suddenly awakened by the sound of 2 short taps, 1 long tap, and 1 more short tap. That is Morse code for a F. It was the only Morse code letter she knew. The F stood for 'Flame' (her secret warrior code name) and it meant her trainer Nick, was telling her to sneak down to the training center (in the lowest level of the castle). Hazel got out of bed and saw that her personal maid, Katie, had laid out her clothes and accessories, as usual. Today it was a royal blue ¾ sleeve dress with a flowing, but not puffy skirt, black combat boots and beautiful jade chandelier three drop earrings. She knew the last drop of the earring had a tracking device in it, so she quickly detached that drop and put it in her drawer.
The outfit complemented her blue eyes, red hair, and slight figure. She hated puffy ball gowns, high heels or anything restrictive. They also usually made her trip because she had Cerebral Palsy and had to use one cane. Granted, it was a very high-tech and almost magical, beautiful red cane. Everyone knew her by her cane. It was her icon.
She really wanted to wear her father's warrior clothes but that was not allowed. She was the crown princess of Mahalokay, a very powerful kingdom. She secretly had the seamstress make a flame red warrior band with a baby phoenix (the kingdom's crest) on it. She trained whenever she could. She now had defined muscles all over but not enough to be able to see under all the gowns, which was good. No one but her trainer, mother, and seamstress knew her secret. Her Father, the King, was very protective of her and acted like she was made of porcelain. He did not like her to even walk around the castle by herself, because he was afraid she'd fall. Her mother had found out when she was 12 and not sneaking quiet enough. She couldn't lie; it just didn't work.
She got up and did her morning routine of putting on her warrior's band on her left bicep, then her dress (which hid the band) and her combat boots. She also put on a light green CP band over her dress and the warrior band. You see, everyone with a disability or disease had to wear the ribbon of their "challenge." The princess was no exception. She pulled her hair into a ponytail, grabbed her cane then snuck down to the training room, her feet and cane as quiet as a cat's.
