You left your office to see your close friends at a nearby pub.
One of your friends, Minhee, worked there.
You went inside the pub, looking for your friends.
"Areum! Right here!" Taegi said loudly, catching your attention.
"You've already had a few drinks I see haha" You laughed.
"You want one?" Minhee said
"No thanks." You declined politely.
"Hey, where's this boyfriend you've been talking so much about recently?"
"Ah, he's just at his apartment."
"Awhh, you promized you'd show uz a pictureeee~" Jae-Eun said, already quite drunk.
"I will, I will, see?" You said, showing them your wallpaper.
"Ooh, I didn't know your boyfriend was a regular here." Minhee said.
"What?" You asked.
"Yeah, he comes here often. Mostly with friends."
"But he often is at his work, or at home .. I'll call him right now."
You dialed Hui's number.
"Hello?" He said
"Yah, Hwitaek! Where are you?"
"자기야, what's wrong? I'm just at home."
You listened as well as you could, the surroundings sounded silent over the phone.
"Ah, mianhe 오빠.. Listen, we need to talk at home okay?"
"Okay 자기. I have to go now, bye~"
You sighed.
"Maybe its just someone that looks like him haha."
"Sorry Areum, that must've been the case." Minhee apologized.
"Oh well, so, how are you guys? It's been a while since we've seen each other!"
"Well, I'll be leaving Korea to go back to America in a few days." Taegi said.
"Awhhhhhhhhh, please stayyyy Taeeeegiiiiiii~" Jae-Eun begged.
"Sorry I really can't Jae-Eun."
You glanced over as someone who just entered the pub caught your eye.
"Guys, I'll be right back, please excuse me~"
For some reason, the words Minhee said, and the confirmation from Hui himself that he doesn't go to the pub didn't sit well with you.
Caught up in your thoughts, you bumped into someone.

You looked up to see, who you bumped into.
His features were familiar, as you hesitated to mention his name, he spurted out.
"Areum? What're you doing here?" Hyojong asked.
"Ah, Hyojong. I should ask you what you're doing here!"
"Yah, I asked first."
"Well, I'm just hanging out with friends this evening. You?"
"I'm with the members, well, more like just Jinho, Hongseok and Hu-" His eyes wandered on a table while he looked for words to complete his sentence.
"I mean, its just us three haha."
"Yeah sure, you're a terrible liar Hyojong." You spat.
"Finee. Don't tell him I told you though. He won't forgive mee~" Hyojong begged.
"Alright. Just bring me to your table."
"I have a date though. I don't want her getting any thoughts about the two of us!"
"Psh, stop worrying."
He led you to a small booth in the corner of the pub
"안녕!" Jinho said cutely.
"Mind if I sit with you guys for a minute?" You asked.
"Sure, I wonder why you and Hui hyung went here seperately though." Hongseok asked.
"Oof, he's coming?"
"Yeah, he said he is, he's over there now, see!" Jinho pointed to a figure approaching the booth.
It seemed like he wasn't alone though..
"Ah, you guys are got here earlier than me! And who's this- A-Areum?"
He stuttered. His grip on the girl beside him loosening.
"Oh, I thought you were at home, Lee Hwitaek."
Your face full of shock, anger and a hint of sadness. You left the booth and got your stuff from your friends, saying that you'll go home early.
"Please excuse me, next time we'll hang out longer, I promise!"
"Trust me, it's alright Areum." Taegi said.
You left the pub, walking home as fast as you could.
"Areum-ah!" Someone called after you.
You ignored the voice, and kept walking faster.
You felt a hand on your shoulder, you were forced to turn around and look at Hui.
You struggled to get out of his arms, but he held you tightly.
"Let go of me, Hwitaek."
"Let me explain, Areum, please~" He said as he dug his face into your neck.
"What is it?" You said sternly. "Why did you lie to me?"
"I just wanted to go out with the members, please understand~" He said. "I didn't mean to lie to you, I won't do it again, I promise~!"
"Fine. Who was that girl though?"
"Ah, just a friend. Let's go home now, yeah?"
"I don't want you to go there Hui. What if girls hit on you, or ask for your number?"
You hated feeling like the jealous type, yet you had to ask him about it.
"Even if they did, they'd know I have a girlfriend. I wouldn't even say yes, because no one's as understanding or forgiving as you~! That's why I love you, 자기야.."
"Really?"
"네. See?" He said showing you his promise ring to you.
"Awh .. Alright Hui."

You were at home, today was Hui's day off, after his promotions for their new song, "빛나리".
You texted him.

You got dressed and went to CUBE.

He was gigglging at his phone. It was a while until he noticed you were there.
"Oh, hi Areum."
"Why didn't you come hone last night?"
"Sorry 자기, I was busy-"
"You promised. It was your day off."
His face got angrier. "Well as a leader of a group I have to accept any work that comes to me! You should understand that!"
You stared in disbelief, and left the room.
You hated feeling jealous but, at this point did he really love you?
You went to your friend's group chat.

You sobbed while they listened to your cries mixed with scents of alcohol.
"Why would he do this to me? Does he even really love me ..?" You wailed as you shot another cup of alcohol down your throat.
You didn't like drinking, but you couldn't stop.
"Areum, slow down for a bit .. You're going to become an alcoholic at this point." Minhee said as she pat your back.
"I dOhn't cAEr!1" you screamed. "Why would he do this? After everytHinG? Why..?"
"I mean like, Minhee saw him everyday here so.." Jae-eun said.
"Yah, Jae-eun have you ever been in a proper relationship before? You're not helping!" Taegi spoke through a call.
"Why don't you want him to go here Areum?" Taegi said.
"I.. don't like it ... coooooosss ... he neeevvverr tells me .. an, and he doesn't tell me where he is and he lies to me!"
"Take it like.. a whole bottle of wine. You want to drink it quickly but your boyfriend doesn't want you to because he loves you so much amd cares for you ... will you still drink it? Or will you lie to him and drink it anyway?"
You thought about it, and shook your head.
"See? It's kinda like that." Taegi said.
You were about to thank him until you blacked out.

You woke up with Hui helping you walk home.
"Aish, why are you like this .. Yahh why did you drink so much?"
"Why do you lie to me, Hwitaek?"
"Well, why are you asking Areum? Just stop thinking about me.."
"I've tried goddamnit!" You cried, breaking away from him.
"오빠, you say you love me because I'm understanding and kind ... and I never want to pressure you because I don't want to make you see me badly .. but 오빠, why do you lie to me and never tell me truthfully? I want to be there for you, but how can I if I'm not as understanding as you think I am?!" You yelled.
".. I'm sorry.." Hui said
You walked away from him, wanting to get home as quick as possible.
"AREUM, WAIT!" He rushed to you.
You looked back at him, eyes filled with tears, love and heartbreak.
"Why don't you find someone as understanding and kind as you wanted me to be?!"
You threw your promise ring onto the ground, and got into your apartment, leaving Hui on the empty street outside.
