~Flashback! Teen Chance's POV~
They say being young is fun. They tell you all about how fun and 'amazing' it is to be a child, to have no idea what goes on around the world. But they never tell you what happens as a teenager. They never warn you about high school or college, until you already missed all the signs. They never warn us, because knowing a surprise would take away all the fun from it, huh?
"Chance, Liam! You boys come down here right now!"
I rolled my eyes and fixed the black beanie on my head, covering most of my hair. I grabbed my pendant necklace and rode the stair railing downstairs. Mom and Dad looked somewhat pissed off, but who cares? Liam came in from the kitchen, standing a good distance away from me, but still in our parents' vision. "Look at this mess!" Mom gestured to the shards of glass on the floor. Not small shards, but big enough for a vase I guess.
"Liam did it."
He whirled around at me with a glare from his one, striking green eye. "Excuse me?! You're the one who threw a party with your boyfriend and girlfriend while Mom and Dad were at work! Bitch!"
I picked up a shard and tried to throw it right at him, but Mom grabbed it and slapped me hard across the face, leaving a starting-to-fade handprint. I slowly held a hand up to where she hit me, looking up at her and Dad. "I'm going to my room."
"Wait-"
"I SAID I'M GOING TO MY ROOM!" I screamed at them and ran up the stairs, stopping when I noticed Theo in the hallway, looking absolutely terrified. "Theo...." I kneeled down and motioned for him to come over, smiling slightly when he did. The moment was ruined by Liam coming upstairs and swooping Theo up in his arms. I got up.
"You're not allowed to touch him."
"Why not? He's my brother."
"Not anymore. I heard Mom tell Dad that she's considering putting you up for adoption." I looked back where our parents were talking downstairs, then back to him and Theo. Liam walked by, holding Theo's hand in his, "I hope the other foster kids make your life worse than you've made ours."
I ran to my room, biting my lower lip when I shut the door. I took a deep breath as I sat on the edge of my bed. Then, I got up and started searching in my drawers for something.
