eight.
I woke up the next day with a grin. No matter how distressed I was, the dreams always find a way to make me smile. The rest of the dream was spent smiling at each other, whispering tiny things like 'I can't believe you're real,' or 'you're so pretty.' It was really nice to have the dream again, it was nice to know that Harry had finally fallen asleep.
My fingers fumbled with my jacket's sleeve. I currently sat in the waiting room of the clinic. It was almost nine and Lucy was getting ready to see me. She was most likely rehearsing what she would say to me, in order not to anger me. I admit I had previously been a jackass to her, but now, I was actually giving in to the help.
In the waiting room was a young girl, an old man, and another man my age. He had shaggy black hair, droopy eyes, and looked pretty lifeless. I looked away from him, he obviously didn't need anymore trouble than he does right now.
"Louis Tomlinson?" The receptionist asked. "Dr. Hughes is ready to see you now."
I nodded and stood up from the chair. It was old and felt like it would collapse at any moment. This whole building needed a new makeover to be honest. If they were to redo this place and made it nice looking, they would get more patients.
My feet brought myself down the long hallway in front of Lucy's room. Sighing, I knocked on the door. She yelled to come in and I slowly opened the door. Lucy sat in her desk, looking at the papers on her desk. She must not be pleased to see me.
"Lucy." I said, while sitting down. She looked up and gave me a soft smile.
"Louis, it's nice to see you again. Is there any particularly reason you wanted to meet with me today?" I bit down on my lip. Now, I didn't want to admit to actually needing therapy, but that's why I came here. My stubborn ass needs to at least open up to someone, and she's the best person to start with.
Letting out a deep breath, I looked at her in the eyes. "I need therapy. And I know I've been a jerk to you, but I honestly need it." I licked my lips. "Recently, I saw him. You know, from the dreams, I saw him here in London."
Lucy shook her head slowly. "So he's a real person living here in London?"
I nodded. "I talked to him. He's been having the dreams too."
She licked her lips and began writing down things on a piece of paper. We were left in a silence, Lucy not saying a word, only writing down things on her paper. I ran a hand through my short hair and sighed. It felt nice to talk about this to someone. Keeping it inside me, building up, is literally killing me.
"Louis, tell me more about him." She said after a while.
"His name is Harry. Turns out, one of my mates is friends with him."
Lucy nodded. "What else?"
"I kissed him."
"You kissed him? What did he do?"
A smile spread on my lips. "He kissed me back." Then the frown faded as I remembered what happened next. "But then he kicked me out of his flat."
A sympathetic frown set on her face. "I'm sorry, Louis. Do you have an idea why he did that?"
I shook my head. He did apologize in the dream, but never a reason why. "He wanted to talk, so I went over to his flat. He was nervous, really nervous. Eventually, he was telling me he didn't want to lose me. I guess I got the wrong idea and kissed him. I'm not sure, he kissed me back, which confuses me so much."
"You know, being nervous makes some people do things they don't mean to do. Harry may have kissed you back, because he didn't know what to do. Did he tense up in the kiss?"
"I think so, I can't remember." I looked down sheepishly. "But that night, I had that dream and he was there. He said he was sorry and he was surprised I was there. I think," I licked my lip, nervously, "I think, we have the same dreams at the same time. Is that weird?"
Lucy gave me a soft smile. "Telepathic dreaming. Louis, you're lucid dreaming with him."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What does that mean?"
"Lucid dreaming is where you know you're dreaming and you can control it, you can feel it. I was meaning to tell you this, but I had no idea it was telepathic." She grinned. "This is remarkable. I really never heard of this before."
"Wait, so you're telling me that me and Harry are lucid dreaming together? And have been for the past three months? But why did it start then? Three months ago?"
She shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe if you bring Harry here, we can discuss it. Next appointment, what do you say? Bring the lad in and we can talk about it."
I bit my lip and slouched back in the seat. "You know, he already has sessions. He comes here on Saturdays."
"Really? That's on my day off. He must talk to Dr. Robin or Dr. Moore." A grin began to form on her face. "I'm going to call them and ask about this Harry boy and I'm going to call you later about it, how does that sound?"
I smiled. "You'd really do that? Isn't that classified information?"
Lucy nodded. "Yeah! And I can have him switched over to me and we can have a day where we could talk about it. Tonight, I'll get the information and call you, okay?"
I gave a smile. "Thank you so much."

It was after work now, and I was at my flat, eating pizza that I had ordered in. Niall sat next to me, quietly singing along to Mr. Brightside by The Killers. Liam was on his way here, we were going to go to the pub around nine in the evening. So we had two hours to spare.
When I had gotten to work, it was twenty questions with Niall. Where were you? Who were you with? Are you sick? etc. I explained that I went back to therapy for an urgent session. He was glad that I had went and promised not to tell the boss.
"Hey Louis." Niall said, looking up from his pizza.
I looked over at him, giving him a small smile. "Yeah?"
"Today at work, before you got there, Harry came in."
I gulped. "He did?"
"Yeah, he was looking for you. I told him I didn't know where you were at the time, and he looked pretty scared. Or nervous. I couldn't tell between the two, really. Maybe both."
Harry was looking for me, why? Didn't we make up in the dream? "Wait, he was looking for me?"
Niall nodded. "What's up between you two? Gotta crush on him?" He teased while taking another bite of his pizza. I rolled my eyes and sat back in the sofa. Ironically enough, I've been crushing on him for a while now.
Knocking erupted through the door. Groaning, I shouted that it was unlocked. Liam stepped through with a frown on his face. His hair was messed up and his eyes were red.
"Liam?" I asked worriedly. "Everything alright, mate?"
He didn't say anything, only shutting the door and walking to my arm chair, plopping right into it. Niall placed down his pizza and we both stared at Liam with confusion. It was rare to see Liam like this, he was the happy one in the group.
"Mate, what's up?" Niall asked.
Liam shook his head. "You guys were right." His voice was hoarse.
"About what? Have you been crying?"
He threw his hands to his face in frustration. "Emily dumped me."
"Ouch." Niall said.
I frowned and walked over to Liam and patted his back in reassurance. "What happened, Liam? What did the little gold digger do?"
"Ha, very funny, Louis." Liam grumbled. "We were out on a date and she wanted me to go shopping with her. So, after dinner, I took her to the mall and she was getting all these expensive items. Once we got to the check-out, the price was literally over a hundred pounds! I told her I couldn't pay for the items and she got so mad at me. Emily was saying that I should show her I love her by buying those stupid useless things, so I then told her I felt like she was using me. She threw a little bitch fit in the middle of Forever 21 and everyone was watching. She broke up with me on the spot, in front of that poor cashier who was frightened by her. And then after she broke up with me, a little old lady comes up to me and slaps me! What did I do wrong in this picture?"
Niall and I were trying not to stifle out a laugh. I had bit my lip to keep the laughing back. Sure, Liam had it pretty bad at the moment, but we had told him countless of times that she wasn't who he thought she was. To be fair, Liam tried to change that and it was pretty heart breaking to see that he failed.
"Look," I told him, smiling widely. "I'm going to be as nice as I can right now. You know Niall and I have warned you about her, but come on. She doesn't deserve this reaction from you. So cheer up, because we're going out later."
He let out a sigh. "I think I loved her."
Niall let out a loud laugh. "You could never be in love with her, Liam. She treated you like complete shit. Don't be so blinded."
"Come on, Liam. Find a girl tonight."
"I'll try." He mumbled.
My cellphone began to ring. Sighing, I walked into the kitchen area and pulled out the ringing object out of my pocket. The caller ID showed Lucifer and a picture of a red demon. Oh yeah, it's Lucy. I chuckled lightly. I needed to change that.
"Hello?" I answered the phone. Niall and Liam were staring at me. Rolling my eyes at them, I gave them the middle finger.
"Hello, Louis? I had just called Dr. Robin and asked about Harry." Lucy told me.
"And?"
She let out a sigh. "Thankfully, Dr. Robin was willing to reassign Harry to me. Unfortunately, I lost one of my patients, but that doesn't matter as of right now. I have his file in my hands right now."
I licked my lips and turned away to the two nosy boys behind me. "What does it say?"
"First off, you cannot tell anyone that I'm telling you this. His file is very confidential and I would get fired if anyone found out I was sharing information. Do you promise to keep this a secret between you and I?"
"I promise, just tell me."
"Okay." She breathed. "Patient Harry Styles. Twenty years of age. He came in a year ago, longer than you have been having sessions. From a year ago, his disorders include Severe Anxiety, Avoidant Personality Disorder, and Schizotypal Personality Disorder."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What does all that mean?"
"Avoidant Disorder: Long-standing feelings of inadequacy and extremely sensitive to what others think about them. Schizotypal Disorder: Great difficulty in establishing and maintaining close relationship towards others. Basically Louis, he's very self conscious about himself and any relationship with anyone is very hard to maintain." She told me.
"Is there anything new?"
"Yes." Lucy sighed into the phone. "Recorded three months ago, he's developed Acute Stress Disorder. Acute Stress Disorder is linked to anxiety. It means where he is stressing over something traumatic. Recently, he is suffering from Adjustment Disorder. He is trying to get used to a significant change in his life."
"Wow." I breathed. I ran a hand through my short brown hair. "Is that everything?"
"Nothing interesting. Last session they had, Dr. Robinson had written down that his anxiety level was high and something was bothering him. Probably from seeing you, right?"
I nodded. "Yeah. I need to apologize, Lucy. I really need to apologize to him."
"I would recommend that, Louis."
I'm so fucking sorry, Harry.
