The fall felt endless.
You couldn't see anything, hear anything, or feel anything. It was just black.
Then you a light. A light that was brighter than anything you've ever seen. It was approaching fast, but was it coming to you? Or were you coming to it?
It grew brighter with each passing second until you were blinded by it. All you could see was white. Then, dark.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You try to move your body. The most you could do was twitch your fingers.
Your heart beat was slow and rhythmic as if you were sleeping. A sharp ringing in your ears annoyed you to no end.
You: I can't move... I can't see. Where am I?
The air was dense and musty like walking into an old cellar that hadn't been opened in years.
You: I gotta get up. Come on!
You focus your breathing in an effort to pump some adrenaline through your body, but it was to no avail.
You: I'm drained of magic power...
You forcefully make a fist and make your way up your body one limb at a time.
Eventually you could open your eyes. All that layed infront of you was black.
You: Great... no light. No magic. No nothing.
You move your arms and push against the ground to lift your torso up. It was slow but the more you pushed, the more feeling you got in your body.
The tattoos on your arms and chest started to glow. The light coming from them was dim but it was enough to see the ground.
To your surprise, it wasn't stone you were laying on, it was bone.
You: What the hell?
You finally get to your feet.
The light from your tattoos grew brighter as you rejuvenated your strength. More of the surrounding area was revealed to you.
Human, dragon, and bones from other unknown species littered the ground. They were pilled high.
You pick up what you thought was a skull. It had three eye holes and teeth that were as sharp as razors.
You: Strange. Is this a mass grave like the one under the Crocus Colosseum?
In the still silence, you hear something move.
You: Who's there?!
???: Ooouuch
The voice was high pitched.
You: Hello? Who's there?
???: Happy. Is that you Natsu?
You: No. Its (R/N).
Happy: Oh, I should have known by the blue light.
The small cat finds you in the darkness.
Happy: Where are the others?
You: I don't know. I just woke up.
Happy looks at the area he was in.
You: You should stick to me. Who knows what's lurking down here.
Happy flys up and grabs onto your shoulder pad.
Happy: So where do we go- what is that?
You: What's what?
Happy: Listen.
You focus your hearing. A very quiet voice off in the distance was singing. It was a female humming to an unfamiliar song.
Happy: Who do you think is singing?
You: Let's find out.
Happy: You're going to go twords the creepy singing lady?!
You: What other choice do we have? It's our only source of direction at the moment.
Happy: If we die then I'm blaming you.
You: Put a sock in it. I need to find out where it's coming from.
The quiet singing was hard to track, but as you got closer to the source, it became louder. The bones on the ground sloped down to what looked like solid stone ground.
You: Hey, were not walking on dead things anymore.
Happy: The plot thickens.
He said sarcastically.
The outline of a person formed in the darkness.
Happy: (Whispering) Is that her?
You: (Whispering) I think so.
The outline moves away from you. She walks down a narrow passage way.
Happy: (Whispering) Let's follow her.
You do as Happy says.
As you continued to follow the woman, a nervous feeling crept up your body.
You: She could be leading us straight into a trap.
The woman didn't seem to notice you. She slowly walked through the passageway while humming her song undisturbed. That was until she stopped.
Happy: (Whispering) Do you think she knows we're here?
The figure turns around to face you. She was too far away in the dark to make out any facial features.
Happy: (Whispering) Yeah she knows we're here.
The woman kept humming her song while looking at you two.
You: Uh... excuse me? Miss?
She keeps humming.
You: I'm going to approach you. We don't mean any harm.
She continues to hum.
You move twords her slowly.
The light from your body started to illuminate her.
She was dressed in tattered cloth that barely covered her chest and groin. Her dirty and stringy hair reached down to the floor.
It wasn't until you were right infront of her that you could see her face.
You: Excuse m...me?
She had no face. No mouth. No eyes. No nose. Only skin.
She hums softly.
Happy: We should go (R/N). This is freaking me out.
The woman shakes her head as if to say "no".
She turns back around and continues to forward.
You: I think she's trying to take us somewhere. Keep your guard up and tell me if you see anything suspicious.
Happy: S-sure thing.
You keep a four foot distance between you and her.
The narrow passage gave way to a large room. A massive door was at the opposite end.
Carvings of dragons, humans, and other species were spread out across the room's walls. The floor was made of a black stone.
Happy: Woooooooh. Crazy.
The woman stops humming.
You: She stopped...
She drops to her knees, her arms loosely falling to her side.
You: Hey are you-
She lifelessly collapses face down infront of the door.
Before you could check on her, the skin on her body combusted into a bright red blaze. The embers traveled up to the ceiling as they dissipated.
When the blaze went out, all that was left was her bones and a black crystal.
Happy: Did she die?! But... but...
You: Remember Happy, we're at the heart of all magic on the planet. Weird things are going to happen.
You had no idea what you were saying. All you knew is that you wanted to reassure your scared companion.
You bend down to pick up the crystal from the woman's bones.
Happy: Say, do you think that is the key to the door?
You: We're about to find out.
You pick up the crystal and move twords the door.
A long slot resembling the object in your hand stretched into the center of the door. You slide it in.
The ground shakes and the door moves away from you slowly. Light was shining from its gap.
You: Would you look at that. Some actual light!
Extremely hot hair hits you and Happy as the door opens fully.
When your eyes adjust to the light, you look out the door and gawk at what you see.
Happy: How was all of this underground?!
You: It's so huge!
The door you were looking out of was built high up into a stone wall that encircled a vast landscape.
Four massive square towers surrounded a dead, ancient city.
Strung high above was a red sphere that gave off an overwhelming feeling of magic energy.
You: Do you think that's what we're looking for?
Happy: I have no clue. How are we supposed to find the others in all of this? If they're even here...
You: Don't worry, we'll find 'em.
???: May I be of help?
Another female voice emerged from the darkness behind you.
Happy: (Whispering) Do you think it's another one of those things?
???: No, I'm human. Trust me.
The woman exits the small passage. She is illuminated by the light.
Her familiar black hair and red eyes have her away immediately.
You: Ultear! You're alive!
Ultear: I am. It's good to see you (R/N).
