Chapter 3: The Attack

The last bell of the day rang, and the classroom quickly became chaos. Doku just sat and waited for everyone to leave, and then got up and walked out of the classroom. He met up with Levi and found their seats in the back of the bus. As the bus started to leave, the girl that helped Doku out before ran quickly to the bus before the bus left. She started walking to the back, and Doku's heartbeat sped up. She sat down in the seat across from them and said "Hey there! Remember me?" Doku replied "Yeah. Niomi, right? I never got to tell you my name. My name is Doku." "Oh, really? Nice name! I just moved here a few days ago, and I am excited to have met a new friend already!" Levi gave a small wave and looked out the bus window while Doku and Niomi continued talking until Levi and Doku had reached their bus stop. "I will see you tommorow!", he shouted as he stepped off the bus. After the bus rolled away, Doku pushed up his glasses and started walking up his street while Levi walked in the opposite direction. "Bye Levi!" "Bye...", Levi said. When Levi was out of sight, Doku started cheering and dancing. He felt like a normal person again, like he fit in. Soon he stopped dancing and noticed the wind speed picking up. Doku looked up at the sky and saw dark clouds. He then continued walking home, when a gust of wind so strong blew him over. As Doku got up, he saw something looming over him, a dark red creature with black ragged wings and black eyes. The creature put both hands above its head, about to strike, and Doku rolled out of the way and started to run home. He reached his house, opened the door, and slammed it behind him, locking it. Doku was out of breath, and terrified. He wasn't sure what just tried to crush him. Doku's sisters ran over with toys in their hands. "Oh, it's just you.", the younger one, Kikiomi, said. "About time!", the older one, Nikioti, said. Doku looked at his younger sisters, and walked to his room, still out of breath from running all the way up the road. "Well, that was a blissful walk home."
