I was finally moving to California to live out my dream of being an actor. And the best part? I lived close to my brother and his band. I had dropped off my stuff at what was going to be my new apartment, now waiting for my brother to pick me up.
Brandon = B Abigail = Abs
B: hey, I'm outside
Abs: alright
I head downstairs to see my brother waiting in an all white sports car. He smiles over at me and hops out the car. "Hey Abby!" Brandon wraps me in a hug and pulls my head into his chest.
"Hey B." Brandon pulls away and looks at me.
"It's been so long."
"Yea, I know."
"When do you start on your new movie?"
"Uhm in about two months."
"That means you have two months to get to know my bandmates, c'mon." Brandon open my side of the door for me before jogging over to his. We drive for about ten minutes before reaching a three story house.
"Wow... This is yours? It's Huge!"
"Well I mean five guys live here so it has to be big." The door to the house opens and a curly headed boy walks out with a wide smile. He had silver hair and an outfit that I knew only he could pull off. I step out of the car and he wraps me in a hug. I hug back with a small smile.
"You must be Edwin. Brandon talks a lot about you. Kind heart and loves hugs. I think we'll be good friends."
"Well I hope mami." I smile and laugh at the new nickname that I've already acquired. We all head inside and wow... they're house was amazing. The first thing I see is a long sleek black couch sitting against the wall with two other chairs facing inwards on either side. A short coffee table sits in the middle of the chairs and a long curved flat screen has been planted on the wall.
The kitchen, which was equally as large as the living room, was decorated with a gigantic stainless steal fridge and two separate stoves on either side. The marble counter tops were smooth as if they were just cleaned and the only thing that stands out now is an orange colored smoothie.
"That's Nick's." Brandon says from behind me.
"Who?"
"Nicholas Mara. Another member of the band." Edwin say grabbing it and putting is back into the fridge.
"Ah, so where is everyone else?"
"They are upstairs in the gaming room." Edwin says.
"Fortnite?" Brandon asks.
"Obviously. C'mon, I'll show you." Edwin grabs my hand softly and leads me up two flight of stairs then to an open space where three boys sat. There were windows lining the wall behind the television and they showcased the rest of the boys' neighborhood. All three boys sat on a black leather sofa completely unfazed by our presence. My eyes fall onto the giant television that was currently turned onto a game called Fortnite.
"Land at Tilted bro." A boy with short brown hair said. He had sharp canines that added to his amazing features. His jawline was sharp as well as his cheekbones. His voice sounded the slightest bit nasally, but cute nonetheless. He glances over at me as his character seems to be floating down and gives a small smile. My legs felt weak. His eyes were an amazing brown and the smirk that lingered on his lips caused me to blush.
"Hell no! I'm trying to get a Victory Royale!" A tall, lanky, light skinned boy says between the two obviously Caucasian boys with a focused face. He as well had prominent features that were... different. One of which being his hair. The root color was a dark brown, almost black, while the tips of the dreads that hung in front of his eyes were a bold blond. His eyebrows were as dark as his roots and the hair that could clearly be seen on his upper lip.
"Yea, you can land at Tilted. You will be dearly missed." And lastly a boy who clearly looked like he was from the states. His hair was tied up into a man bun, but if he took it down would probably go to about shoulder length. I had the urge to braid it... His smile when he laughed was adorable and the way he flipped his hair when it fell over his eyes was oddly attractive.
"Ugh whatever."
"That is Nick with the short hair, Zion is the tall one, and Austin with the long hair." Brandon informs me.
"Mhm..." I say still letting my eyes remain on Nick as he focused on the game he was playing.
"Abby... Earth to Abby." I turn to my brother giving him all- most of my attention.
"Hm?"
"Got your eye on someone?" Brandon asks glancing over at Nick. I blush and look down.
"No..." Brandon lifts an eyebrow and smirks "He looks mischievous. Cocky... two things that are not good traits."
"I mean he does steal Zion's food a lot."
"He tries that on me I will stab his hand." Brandan laughs and wraps an arm around my shoulder.
"Let's go downstairs to the pool. I think they'll be a minute." Brandon leads me out the room and Edwin decides to stay.
"I don't have a suit."
"That's alright, we have some." I look at my brother and he rolls his eyes with an amused smirk.
"Explanation."
"We have parties every so often and some girls may not have suits, so we have some on standby..." I continue to stare and Brandon's cheeks turn a light pink. "We have swim trunks too!" He tries to argue, but I just laugh and continue to follow Brandon to a room. He open the closet and half of it is lined with one piece bathing suit and bikinis, while the other is lined with trunks of all colors. "Pick any one." Brandon leaves and I look around at all the brightly colored bikinis that hung neatly around each other.
I spot a light pink bikini and my eyes light up. I quickly strip and pull on the bikini.
I smile at my reflection and pose in the mirror. I start to laugh a little as I compare my skin to Brandon's. If you had seen us walking down the beach like this, you wouldn't assume that he was my brother. And that he was from Texas. I walk out the room leaving my clothes in a neat stack on the bed. As I walk down the hall I hear a whistle. I turn to see Nick leaning in the doorway of what looks to be a bathroom.
"Oh, uhm h-hi." He smiles and walks forward. He stretches his hand out to me I take it.
"Nicholas Mara, nice to meet you, Abigail, correct?"
"Y-Yes."
"That bikini looks great on you."
"Thanks Nicholas, but don't you have a girlfriend?"
"U-Uhm... How do you-"
"I was just assuming... but just some friendly advice, don't flirt when you're in a relationship. It's a dick move and technically cheating." Nick scoffs and rolls his eyes. Jerk. I do the same and walk out to the pool. Brandon was wating by the water's edge with his feet dangling in. I peep over his shoulder and notice he was texting a girl. The name reach Charlotte.
"Who's that?" I ask. Brandon jumps to the side almost dropping his phone.
"Uhm n-no one."
"Does Brandon have his eye on someone?" Brandon smiles and sighs as he looks back at the text messages that were displayed on his phone.
"Yea..." I smile and sit beside Brandon. I lean my head on his shoulder and Brandon leans his head on mine. "Tell me about her."
"Well-" I hear quick footsteps then a giant splash. Both Brandon and I are drenched in water as Brandon wipes off his assumingly waterproof phone.
"Zion! What the hell?!" Brandon yells. The tall boy floats to the top of the water with a wide smile on his face.
"Come on B, calm down." Zion swims to the edge and floats in front of me. Well, he stands actually.
"Zion Kuwonu, Canadian, 6'2, and single." I laugh lightly as Brandon kicks water into his face.
"Abigail Arreaga, Texan, 5'5, also single." I say with a small smile.
"Hey! No." Brandon says pushing Zion back with his foot. "There will be no flirting with my sister." Zion just laughs and floats away on the water's surface.
"Don't worry about me B. I already tried." Nick says. Brandon looks at me with a confused face. I shake my head and roll my eyes.
"No offense Nick, but you're not my type." Nick slips off his shirt and I refrain from gasping. Instead I bite my lip and look away. I feel soft lips on my neck and I freeze feeling the hairs on my skin rise.
"Sure baby, that's what they all say. But just an fwi, you're just my type." He whispers. Nick then jumps in the pool with a slightly smaller splash than Zion's previous and floats to the surface.
"Abby you okay?" I open my mouth slightly, but shut it and nod.
"So, back to the original conversation. What's this Charlotte like?" Brandon smiles softly as he stares off into the pool.
"She is perfect. And I know you always tell me that no one is perfect, but damn... she's like no one I've ever met."
Nick Mara ~Time Skip~
It was around 7:30 and Brandon's sister, Abigail, had invited all of us over to her place for a sleep over. Although it was her first day in her new apartment, for the whole day she had people bringing in her furniture. I saw a corkboard up on he wall with a floorplan. She had written all over it where she wanted certain pieces of furniture. Smart...
Currently I was in the kitchen with Abigail helping her make burgers. Well I was making burgers while Abigail cut tomatoes as she sang along to music coming from her speakers. I may have burnt one or two staring at her...
"Hey, Nicholas, can you get the ketchup and stuff from the fridge? Thanks."
"Alright." I mumble. I walk over to Abigail's fridge and take out ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc. I put them on her dining table along with a small stack of cheese and chips. I walk over to the kitchen to see Abigail placing the last burger onto a plate. She kindly smiles at me as she passes, and places the plate on the counter.
"Come and get it boys!" She shouts. Zion and Austin come from a back room that Abigail had set up as a gaming room just for us. Brandon hopped off the couch and Edwin sheepishly trudged out the guest room with a loud yawn.
"Thanks sis." Brandon says wrapping an arm around Abigail. "You too Nick." I smile and nod.
"Thank you Nicholas. I appreciate your help."
"No problem baby Arreaga." Abigail rolls her eyes before walking away. Okay... guess she's not one for jokes. Everyone grabs their food from the table and we all sit around the couch. I was the last to get my food and the only space left was beside Abigail. She notices me standing and lifts her legs from the empty spot beside her. As I sit down she lets her feet fall back onto my lap. I sigh and place my plate on her shins.
"So what are we watching?" Brandon asks looking down at Abigail as she leaned on his arm. She shrugs and tosses the remote to Austin.
"Choose something." She says. Austin nods and turns towards the T.V. He spends about 10 minutes looking thru Hulu before deciding on Shrek.
Throughout the movie Abigail would start laughing hysterically and I would just stare. She was so beautiful. It amazes me how she and Brandon are related.
The movie was finally over and Abigail had fallen asleep with her legs in my lap and her arms wrapped around one of mine. Zion was the only one awake and he smiled over at me. "That's cute." He whispers.
"Shut up." I say looking away feeling the blood rush to my face. Zion chuckles quietly before waking up the rest of the guys. They all give me cheeky looks except for Brandon. He looked more confused then angry.
"You want me to wake up Abby?" Brandon asks.
"Nah, I'll just stay here. Now you can get her bed if Edwin already hasn't." Brandon looks at Abigail then back at me before smiling lightly.
"Alright, night bro."
"Night." Before Brandon leaves he leans down and kisses Abigail's forehead. Once everyone was gone I was left in the dark, quiet, living room with Abigail attached to my arm. I sigh and try to remove my arm from her grip, but she just latched on harder.
"Alright..." I mumble accepting my fate.
Sooner or later I fall asleep with my feet lifted on the coffee table and my arm behind my head.

Nick
I had woken up about half an hour ago. Abigail was still asleep with her head in the side of my neck. Every time I would take in a deep breath I could feel Abigail's lips graze my neck. Abigail starts to move different parts of her body and I knew she was waking up. I hear a small gasp escape Abigail's lips, but instead of moving away like I thought she lays back down and tangles her fingers into my hair.
"I see you." I smile and give a small laugh. Abigail jolts up and places her hand on my chest. Her cheeks turn a light shade of pink and her lips curls slightly as she bites her lip. "Getting comfortable, Princess?" Abigail turns away with a small smile.
"No." Abigail climbs off of me and runs her hand through her gorgeous black hair. "No, I am not. I have told you before Nicholas, you are simply not my type. I was asleep, I didn't know what I was doing."
"You didn't look asleep just a minute ago."
"Well I was. It doesn't matter how hard you try Mara, but we will never be a thing. This will never be a thing." I stand to my feet and pull Abigail close.
"Come on, Princess. Not even friends?" Abigail pushes me away and sighs.
"No. That's- no we can't." She begins to walk away, but I speak up.
"You can't ignore me forever."
"You'd be surprised." Abigail heads into her bedroom, most likely to wake up Brandon since Edwin, Zion, and Austin had already left. I bite my lip as I plop down on Abigail's couch and rub my temple. She can't ignore me forever can she?
Abigail
I honestly can't expect to ignore him forever can I? I huff loudly as I open the door to my room. Brandon was seated on the edge of my bed smiling at his phone. He looks up at me and I just smile. I quietly close the door and hop on my bed next to Brandon. "Texting Charlotte?"
"I was, but I was actually looking at this." Brandon shows me his phone screen and I was a picture of Nick and I cuddling on the couch. I bite my lip and look down. "So?"
"So, nothing. Nick and I are not a thing and we are definitely not friends."
"Why not?"
"Because... we just aren't."
"Alright. Well, I have to go. Have the boys already went home?"
"Everyone except Nick." Brandon smiles and I punch his arm. "Get out." Brandon laughs and wraps me in his arms.
"We still on for shopping tonight?"
"Just me, you, and Ed right?"
"Yup." Brandon replies as he holds open my bedroom door.
"Alright. Bye B." I smile and wave as Brandon closes the door.
