A/N: Here is another chapter and I hope you enjoy it.
The big meeting with Pha's father and the "executives" is here.
Mr. Kongthanin POV
Today's the day that I start taking my life back. I just know that everything will work out. It won't take much for me to get those executives to see my point and to side with me. Then, I can start getting my hospital back and everything will just fall into place. This is going to be the best day ever.
I review my files and my document one more time. Yes, this is probably one of the best plans that I have ever developed. Its kind of even surprised me. Well, I have to admit that it has been years since I felt this determined to think about things like this but I'm sure that it will all be worth it. Just a little bit longer and all this work will have been worth it.
After I make sure that everything is perfect, I put all my stuff in my bag and I take one last look at myself in the mirror. Not only do I want my documents to be perfect, but I also want to look perfect. I want the executives to be impressed with me.
Ah, I think I look rather charming and handsome. If only my wife was here to see me, I'm sure she would say the same thing.
Why isn't she home? It is early in the morning and once again the house is really quiet. Where is she going all the time? Its not like she has a job or something that she has to go to. Oh, I'll wear the suit all day, so she can see me when she gets home.
Okay, I think I've got everything, I grab my stuff, and I proudly walk out of the house.
I confidently walk through the restaurant towards the private dining area that I have begun to hate, but today, I believe it will be my new beginning. I stop for a moment when I reach the door, and I take a deep breath. Okay, this is it.
I slowly slide the door open and I walk in.
I'm initially shocked that it is still just the cold nasty witch that I normally deal with and there isn't anyone else in the room yet. I thought that I was meeting with the other executives.
As I walk across the room to my normal seat, I calmly ask, "Are the others coming?"
Without looking up from her tablet, she coldly replies, "Yes. They will be here soon, plus a couple more people."
A couple more people? What does that mean?
I don't want to irritate her and start the meeting on the wrong note, so I simply sit down. "Hello, Bella. It is nice to see you again."
Bella continues, like always, reading stuff on her tablet without looking up at me which in my mind is very rude, but once again, I don't say anything. She coldly replies, "Hello. We will start as soon as the others get here."
I don't want to upset or irritate her, but I must know exactly what will happen to day. I need to know exactly how much time that I will get to do my presentation, so I hesitantly ask, "Another 15 minutes today or do I get more?"
Bella doesn't even look away from her tablet. I'm really starting to hate that stupid tablet. "We will see. The others will decide that when they get here."
Well, I guess that is all I'm going to get out of her.
I take my documents out of my bag and I set them on the table. I guess I'm still on my own even though Bella is here. I don't get the impression that she will be helping me anytime soon.
I'll have to admit that this woman has made me do things that I would have never done with other executives. First, I normally don't deal with women when I'm making my business deals. There were a few times in the past where a woman executive was in the room, but I chose to deal with the men instead. I just don't believe that women can do as good a job as men can.
Second, I would have never let a woman talk to me like she does. She is cold and rude all the time. If this was back when I was at the top of my game, I would have never allowed her to get away with this attitude around me. Well, when this is all done and I'm back, I will make sure that this nasty witch gets what she deserves. I'll make sure of it.
The buzz of Bella's phone breaks the silence in the room. I quickly glance over at her as she looks at her phone and reads a message. I'm surprised by the smile that suddenly appears on her face. I have been dealing with her for several weeks now and I have never seen her smile. I have only gotten that cold nasty look all the time.
Bella looks up at me and chimes, "They are here."
Oh, my nerves suddenly play havoc with me as my stomach churns and my palms begin to sweat. Why of all times do I have to suddenly have a little panic attack?
I take a deep breath and I quickly wipe my hands on my napkin. Okay, this is it.
The door slowly opens, and I anxiously turn my head to see who the executives are.
My stomach instantly sinks as shock takes over my body. No, this can't be.
Mr. Panitchayasawad, Mr. Dechapayna, my father and my wife walk into the room.
This has to be some sick joke. Right? I haven't been working this hard all this time to find out that I'm dealing with the same people that warned me to stop my plans for the arranged marriage with Phana.
My eyes instantly go to my wife. What in the HELL is she doing here? Is this what she has been doing all the time? Has she been helping these two?
My attention is suddenly brought back to the door as an additional person walks in and I suddenly realize that this isn't going to be a good day. I'm completely shocked as I watch my father-in-law come into the room and then slowly close the door behind him.
No!! How can this happen? This is supposed to be the beginning to my new life. The day that I start getting my hospital back, but I can already see that that isn't going to happen. Then it hits me like a ton of bricks. Bella played me!! ME!! WHAT A FREAKING BITCH!!!
As my temper begins to grow, Mr. Panitchayasawad explains, "I'm sure that you have figured out that my wife has been stringing you along, but we have a few things that we want to say and then we will let you have a meal on us after we leave."
Wait! Did he just say that Bella is his wife? No, it can't be. My friend warned me about Mr. Panitchayasawad and his wife who is my friend's ex-wife. Why did I not ever see pictures of her before? Oh, I remember now. My friend never put up any family pictures in his house because they all had her in them and his new wife didn't want to see the ex-wife everywhere. Stupid me. Why didn't I ask to see a picture of her, so I knew what she looked like? I would have known from the start and I would have immediately found another option for my plan. UGH!!
Mr. Panitchayasawad calmly continues, "I want to first let you know that there isn't anyway that you will get your position back at the hospital. What you don't know is that the two large companies that voted with your father to remove you from the hospital are one of our companies. I own one company and Max owns the other. So regardless of whoever you got on your side, Max and I are not changing our view on this situation and we would never vote for you to get your position back."
SHIT!! This is bad. Real bad. Why didn't I research those companies more? How come I didn't know that they were owned by the two people that are currently against me?
Mr. Panitchayasawad looks over to my father and asks, "Do you want to tell him or can I?"
My father calmly replies, "I will let you have the honor."
Mr. Panitchayasawad smiles as he turns back around to face me. Oh, why am I getting this sinking feeling that something really bad is about to happen?
I take a deep breath waiting for whatever the news is.
Mr. Panitchayasawad cheerfully says, "Your son, Pha, is currently dating my son, Wayo, and your parents along with your wife have given their blessing for the relationship. This is the real reason that I prevented you from marrying off Pha. Him and my boy, Wayo, begged me to help them to stop that terrible nightmare. They are completely aware of what is going on right now."
NO!! My son doesn't date boys! My son is going to marry a girl and have a family! I'm not going to allow it!
As my anger boils up, I slam my fist down on the table and scream, "NO!! NEVER!!"
Bella instantly starts chuckling. "I'm sorry to say that it is happening and if I'm not mistaken, our son, Wayo, will probably me your future son-in-law." Bella leans forward and looks towards my father and my wife. "Do you see what I see when the two are together?"
My father and wife smile. My father cheerfully replies, "Yes, we see it to, and I agree that they will probably get married some day."
My wife quickly adds, "I think it may be sooner than later. I don't think those two can stay away from each other for very long."
No! This is terrible. It is like my worst nightmare. My son dating and possibly marrying another boy. It just can't be. My son can't be gay.
Bella starts laughing again and I immediately whip my head towards her. I can't control myself anymore as I glare at her. If my looks could kill, she would be dead right now.
Bella teases, "Now, Mr. Kongthanin, you should be happy that your son has found his true love. Oh, I forgot to tell you another really funny part. I'm the outside consultant that has been helping your father run your family's hospital. I'm the one that the board is so happy with. And, I'm the one that has agreed at the board's request to continue helping your father run and improve the hospital."
What? NO!! This can't be!! This is too much!!
Anger and shock have completely consumed me, and I don't know whether to come out swinging or not do anything. I don't even know what my next options are.
My wife and her father bring me back to my living nightmare as my father-in-law clears his throat while my wife pushes a piece of paper across the table at me.
My eyes can't focus, and I don't touch it. "What is this?"
My father-in-law puts his arm around my wife and calmly says, "It is divorce papers. I have had my lawyers draw up all the necessary documents and in light of what you have tried to do with my grandson, I want you to know that I will be taking back my ownership of my hospital shares. I had only given you authority to be my agent and representative for my shares, but after hearing what you have been trying to do, I have ended that authority and I have notified the board about it."
NO!! The majority of my shares that I was controlling were his. I didn't own very many on my own. I was supposed to get those shares past to me at some time in the future. No, this can't be.
I look at my wife in shock. How could she? She would have never done this to me before. Why now?
My wife's blank face stares back at me and I'm once again shocked. She has never given me that expression before. She always looks at me with love and tenderness. Where did it go?
My father-in-law coldly continues, "As we speak right now, my staff is clearing out all your belongs from the house. If you have forgotten, I bought that house and I put it in my daughter's name. Not yours. So, the house is my daughter's and I'm telling you that it is no longer your house. Don't even think about trying to get back in because all security codes and locks are being changed as we speak."
My father-in-law reaches into his suit pocket and pulls out a small envelope which he pushes across the table to me. "Even though I wanted to put you out on the streets, my daughter wouldn't let me do that, nor would your father, so here is the keys to your apartment along with any security codes that you will need. The address is also inside the envelope. This is where all your stuff is being moved to."
No. This can't be happening. This is supposed to be the beginning of my new life, but not like this. It was never supposed to be like this.
Before I can say anything else, the group gets up and swiftly leaves the room.
What am I supposed to do now? This isn't how it was suppose to end.
