I was staring at Derek's sleeping form on my bed.

"Doctor Grey, this is Ms. Henry from the nursing home. I'm calling about your mother."

I was holding the crappy phone against my ear, "is she alright?" I asked Ms. Henry.

  "Oh, it's nothing like that."

"Can I call you later, then?" I asked irritated. "I just wanted to," she started.

I heard a rustle from my bed, and I glanced up to see him rubbing his face.

"I have to go," I muttered.

Derek groaned, "who is calling you at this hour?" I shrugged, "wrong number," I absently said.

  I heard George, Izzie, and...Scott?

I immediately walked to the door, and jerk the door opened to see Izzie wearing a shit-eating grin, "you know what? It's no big deal. You don't have to lie. I get it. You have needs."

I raised my eyebrows, "what is going on here?"

Scott shrugged, "Izzie thought George was masterbating in the bathroom, but he's only reading a book to find something to save his ass."

George's face reddened, and my eyes widened.

  Syphilis.

   I coughed, "um...okay."

"This sounds like fun out here," Derek walked out of the bedroom, putting his white shirt on. The trio left to the kitchen.

His phone started to ring, and I spoke, "aren't you gonna get that? It might be the hospital."

He shook his head. "It's not."

I went to the curtains that was hiding George and Alex.

I immediately pushed the curtains apart, and I smiled. "Hey George!" I walked in, letting the curtains stay open.

He gasped, and scrambled toward to shut the curtains.

"Go away!" He grumbled, and I scoffed playfully, "oh, George. Thought you could use some moral support." I laughed.

Damn I was ruthless.

"No, moral support. I'm indisposed here."

I huffed, "George, it's not a big deal. And you have a cute butt." He really did.

  Alex stifled his laugh.

"I have a cute butt too. You want to see?" Alex asked suggestively.

I glared at him, "get out, you're doing it wrong," I jerked the penicillin shot off of his hand, and he moved aside.

"What...? Alex. Alex. Wha...?" George asked panicking, and I smiled ruthlessly.

Alex went to leave, and while he opened the curtains, Izzie showed up.

"Izzie!" George whined, "ooh, what are we doing here?" Izzie sounded excited.

"Breaking George's spirit." He mumbled dejectedly, "that, and also curing his miserable existence." I shrugged.

  "I don't like needles."

"Good thing you became a doctor," I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see me.

"Izzie?" Cristina's voice rang out, and Izzie hollered back, "yeah?"

"Uh, Mr. Franklin's procedure's been scheduled for after lunch..." Cristina trialed off while she opened the curtains.

"What are we doing here?" She questioned while walking around the table.

"We are saving George from a future of festering sores and insanity." Izzie piped up.

  "Oh, cute butt."

"Told you," I smirked, then I injected the needle into his butt cheek.

He pulled his bottom uniform up once I was done with the shot, and he glared at us.

"You know, I have spent hours, days, years, imagining myself half-naked in a room with three women. The reality is so much better." He grumbled while leaving the hospital room.

Cristina looked at us, "I think he's gonna cry," we laughed.

Ms. Henry decided to call me back during my free time.

"Hi. It's Ms. Henry again. Is this a better time?"

"Sorry about this morning. I wasn't alone and...what were you calling about?" I questioned her while chewing at the end of the pen that I was holding.

"I just wanted to remind you that tonight's our monthly family dinner. You know, you haven't been to any of our family function," she said into the phone.

I huffed, "you have to understand. I'm a surgical intern, so my time isn't my own."

"Our residents really respond to these events. They always enjoy themselves which is so rare. I think it's important you attend."

  "I'll try," I grumbled.

  Goddamn Ellis Grey.

I went to the scanning room, and before I walked into the room, Webber came out.

"You paged," I said, once I see him.

  Derek nodded.

"Yeah, I need you to help me out on something for the chief." He looked up at me, "can you keep a secret?" He smirked.

I scoffed internally, better than you think.

Bailey was talking to me while Derek ran up the stairs to us.

"How goes out special super secret silent sunset surgery? I've been practicing that." We both looked at him. Bailey snorts, and I just smiled.

"You have too much time on your hands. Uh, tell the chief I'll be there. Just let me know when and where. I'm in." Bailey stepped around him, and looked at me.

When she left, we both laughed.

"Are you nervous?" I asked him.

He walked with me, "it's a complicated surgery. I make one mistake, I end a fellow surgeon's career, my mentor's career. Oh, no, I'm not nervous."

I slowed my steps, "you'd tell me if I need to get tested, right?"

He looked at me abruptly, "you think I have syphilis?" He asked me in disbelief, and I shook my head.

"No, we never made rules or anything. I mean we didn't say we have rules, and I wouldn't hold it against you."

He stopped walking, and leaned against the rail next to me.

"When would I have time to go out and get syphilis? You're a handful enough as it is, and besides, we're like, practically a condom ad." He scoffed, and I smiled.

"But no more glow-in-the-dark ones." I said slyly. They're ridiculous.

"You see? There's nothing to worry about. Maybe we should, you know make some rules, I mean."

I nodded, "okay." I stepped around him, and walked towards the hallway.

"And for the record, I like the glow-in-the-dark ones," he smirked, and I laughed.

  "I know."

"Cristina, no," I shook my head viciously,  while sitting on the gurney. They wanted to perform unauthorized autopsy.

Izzie sighed heavily, "what about Franklin's wife? You saw the way she was looking at me. She wants the autopsy. She just didn't want to fight with her daughter. She looked so sad. Ok, Cristina Yang, license to kill."

Cristina glanced at me, "okay, I'm in."

"I am so not getting involved with this." I muttered.

Cristina glared at me, "Reagan, this is fight club. No one talks about it."

I huffed, "fine," Cristina looked at her hands, "we have to do it when Bailey's not around." She said thoughtfully.

Before Izzie said anything, "Bailey's got something tonight from 7 to 11. You two will be the last thing she's worried about." I said.

"How do you know that?" Cristina asked suspiciously, and I smirked.

  "It's a fight club too."

I sighed into the office phone next to Webber's room, "I know but something came up, an important surgery and I couldn't." I huffed.

"I'm just sorry you couldn't be there for your mother." Ms. Henry said pitifully.

I rolled my eyes, "If my mother was lucid, she would understand. After all, surgeries and hospitals was her life. Besides, she doesn't even know I am."

"Well she did, today."  I perked up.

  "What?"

"Your mother's been asking when her daughter Reagan gets off from work." Ms. Henry said, and before I said anything, Derek came up behind me.

  "Hey."

I jumped, and slammed the phone onto the machine.

"Hey," once I turned around to him.

He was looking at a chart, I sighed fruitless, "it's my mother." He looked up curiously, "she isn't anything." I mumbled.

He cocks his head to one side, and I sighed.

  "She has Alzheimer's."

"How advanced?" He immediately asked, and put the chart onto the counter next to him.

"Very. She's in a home and I'm the only one who even knows she's sick. I just don't know what to do anymore, you know?" I said helplessly.

Derek's eyes softened, and he reached down, and I felt my forehead tingling when he pressed his lips onto it. He puts his hand on my hair, and started to smooth it down, I leaned towards him instinctively.

"It'll be okay," he whispered, and I believed him.

~-B-~

I walked into Webber's room, and he looked at me.

"He's an attending, you're an intern."

I sighed, "you can see." I said drearily.

"I'm gonna tell you what your mother would say if she were here. You're making a mistake, a big one."

"Speak for yourself," I glared at him, wanting to say more, but holding myself back.

  "What does that mean?"

I walked up to him, "I know about you and my mom," he froze, "you didn't leave your wife even when you knew in your heart, you weren't happy with her. Cause if you were, then you would've never had an affair with my mom in first place." I hissed.

"What do you know about it?" He sighed dejectedly.

"I know that you met her after I was born, somewhere in 1978-1979. You fell in love with her, and she did the same. You two were going to leave your spouses in 1983, but you heard about her possibility of winning a Harper Avery award.  You couldn't be with her because you didn't want the professional jealousy rule the rest of your life." I shrugged.

Oops, I let out more than I should've had.

He sat on his bed, wide eyes.

I smirked, "now...if she was here..." I trailed off, "it's not a mistake."

~-B-~

I walked to the lobby where Derek is.

"Long day. Huh," he puts down the newspaper next to him, I nodded.

"Long year," I teased.

"Somewhere out there, is a steak with your name on it and maybe a bottle of wine." He grinned, his white teeth glistening.

  I was almost jealous, almost.

"That's one of the reasons why I like you," I grinned back.

"So we need to talk," he stood up, and I sighed, "wine first, talk later."

"You trying to, uh, get me drunk so you can take advantage of me?" He smirked, and I looked at him innocently.

"I think I like this rules thing."

"Me too," he said with a smile.

He put the trench coat around me, and I lifted my hair up so it wouldn't get stuck in the coat.

He looked at me like I was the only person in the world.

  However I spoke too soon.

Derek looked past my shoulder, and he whispered, "Reagan, I am so sorry."

I looked at him with confusion withering in my eyes.

I heard the heels clicking against the tiles and the carpet.  It became louder once it got closer.

"What are you doing here?" Derek's voice suddenly became angry.

"Well, you'd know if you'd bothered to return any one of my phone calls."

I turned around to see the stunning red headed woman standing there with a sly smile.  I glanced back at Derek, suddenly hit with reality.

  Addison Montgomery-Shepherd.
