Kaiba walked away with Mokuba as he carried Bella carefully, trying to not move her too much. Bella leaned into Kaiba as he carried her back into the aircraft and into her room.
"This has been one hell of a vacation." Bella commented, she had only been unconscious for a moment. She regained consciousness just as Seto had picked her up off the ground.
"Hn, I wasn't expecting the dweeb patrol bringing their problems into the tournament." Kaiba said with an annoyed scowl. He just wanted to defeat Yugi once and for all! With out any of this weird mumbo jumbo-bull crap and people trying to take over the world!
"Still set on defeating him, I see." Bella said with a smile as Seto set her down on her feet and she sat down in a chair that was the closest to her. She had heard about this rivalry between the two since the first time Yugi had defeated Seto.
Every time she called, she could hear Seto raving about it in the background as she talked to Mokuba. Seto had even ranted to her about it a few times. Not that he would ever admit it. At first, Bella thought it was amusing. That is, until she realized how obsessed that Seto had become, but so far it had not done anything damaging...yet...
"Are you alright," Mokuba asked bringing over a cup with a dark colored liquid in it.
"As fine as I'll ever be." Bella replied taking the offered cup from the youngest boy in the room. She sat back relaxing and took a drink from the cup before making a face at the strong taste. Her throat burned momentarily as the liquid went down.
"It's a good thing this necklace shields me from Marik. He was quite furious when I left him. Now that Odion is down, the darkness will take over. Shit, this will be- no IS bad. You think he is messed up now, his dark side is even worse." Bella said looking over at Seto with a concerned expression. "And now that dark side has taken control. There will be nothing that he will let stand in his way." She explained. "He is a psychopath. He murdered his own father. I don't blame him, he was dick...but still. I know he has murdered others too."
"He isn't going to get near you, that I promise." He said firmly. Seto knew what her past was with Marik. He had been the only one that she had told.
"Seto, as much as I appreciate your need to protect me. It is my job to protect you in case you have forgotten." Bella said dryly looking at him with a determined look.
"Hn." Kiba replied standing there with his arms crossed.
There was a knock at the door, causing them all to jump startled. They looked over at the door a little surprised. Who the hell could that be?
"I'll get it," Mokuba said jumping up and going over to the door.
The door opened revealing Yugi standing there looking nervous.
"Oh! Hey, Yugi!" Mokuba said perking up happy to see him. Bella was faintly reminded of a little chihuahua greeting a friend. She could not help but grin at the thought.
"Hey, Mokuba...I was just-" Yugi started to say trailing off.
"Checking to see if she was alright?" Mokuba said as if understanding and looking back at Bella and Kaiba.
"It's Yugi, he wanted to see if you were ok." Mokuba called over as he looked at Bella.
Bella sighed as Kaiba looked over at her. She felt conflicted. the spirit of the necklace obviously did not want to talk to the pharaoh, but there was no avoiding it.
"Just...let him in," she said, sounding defeated. She knew just how stubborn and adamant the Pharaoh was from the memories of her counter part.
Mokuba looked at Yugi. "Come on in, Yugi!" he said walking away from the door.
Yugi walked in almost hesitant and looked around the room. His eyes landed on Bella. "hey, I just wanted to see if you were alright. You seemed like you were in pain earlier." he said sounding worried.
"Where's your cheer squad?" Bella asked, suspiciously. Not that she had anything against them, but she really did not feel like dealing with them. well, that's not true. She had something against that girl but not the others.
"My friends are with Joey. He is getting looked over by the medic, after being struck by that lightening" Yugi replied. Bella gave a slight nod of acknowledgment, She knew a thing or two about getting electrocuted by lightening. it wasn't fun. Yugi started to say something but then stopped and looked down unsure.
Bella at him and sighed. "I can't tell you everything. But, I can tell you a few things. I'm sorry," she said as she rolled her eyes a little. "It's just not my place to say it," she explained with an apologetic look.
Yugi looked up. "would you mind...answering a few questions," he asked sounding hopeful. "if you can." he added quickly.
"I can try...just know, there will be things I can't tell you, Quite a bit actually. Like i said. it isn't my place." Bella replied with a nod while giving him a warning. it wasn't that she didn't want to...she just didn't know everything. Christine did not like to talk about her past, and she was telling the truth. Christine didn't want anyone to know certain things about her.
"Can you tell me...how you are connected to the pharaoh?" Yugi asked as he sat down in a chair opposite of them.
"I believe that is a question I should answer directly to him...but I will tell you what I can...as you can see this necklace like your puzzle. Yes, I know about the puzzle. My necklace holds a spirit just as yours does. She is the one connected to the Pharaoh. And by default, I am as well." Bella replied.
Yugi looked at her as if contemplating something before he and the Pharaoh once again switched places. Bella blinked a little bit. There was no warning. They just switched out of no where.
"How is the spirit in your necklace connected to me? Did I know them?" The Pharaoh asked eagerly. "Why does Bakura think I have hurt her in some way?"
Bella looked at him puzzled for a moment. She could hear the desperation in his voice as he questioned her.
"You truly do not know?" she asked seeing the confusion in his eyes.
"I do not remember anything from my time as Pharaoh or even before that." he replied with a frustrated sigh.
Bella watched him for several moments and then sighed. She honestly felt sorry for the guy. She knew what it was like loosing her memories, But that just made her heart break a little more for Christine.
"That sucks for you. I know how that is. I lost my memory when i was 12. It was temporary but still," She says shaking her head a little bit.
*Quit sympathizing with him!*
Bella felt the irritation coming from her necklace. She could understand Christine's frustration. If she had been in the same place as her...if roles were reversed...
The Kaiba brothers stayed quiet as Bella and The pharaoh spoke with each other. Simply just watching.
Bella looked over at the Kaiba brothers. "Mokuba, this isn't something you need to hear." she said quietly/
"Aww," Mokuba pouted but walked out of the room knowing better than to argue especially with the sharp look Kaiba was giving him.
"The spirit residing in me is...angry," Bella said hesitantly. She was not sure if angry was the correct word, but it seemed to be the safest to use for the moment.
"Who is she angry at?" the Pharaoh asked, unsure if he wanted the answer. Some how he felt as though he knew the answer.
*Something tells me it's you she is angry at.* Yugi commented.
*For some reason it always is!* The Pharaoh replied with a sigh.
"Honestly...You." Bella replied bluntly. "I mean...she's not...it's hard to explain. The thing is...she blames you for...an incident from the past." she started to explain however was abruptly cut off as the spirit inside her took control. Her eyes turned to a forest green. She sat there staring at him with her arms crossed.
There was a dark aura coming off of her. The pharaoh and Yugi momentarily gulped. They could sense there was something dangerous about this woman. This other side of Bella. Who ever this was, they needed to know! Was she a friend....or a foe?
"If anyone is going to tell you anything it will be me and when I want to tell you! Got that Pharaoh," she said coldly. Her voice sounded bitter and sad. They were not sure which emotion to latch onto. "and to answer your question as to how we are connected. I was a servant of the palace. Your personal servant."
