Walking onto the bus, there was always one empty seat next to the girl who never spoke a word. She would always watch the people pass, yet no one dared to say a word to her. Maybe it was her menacing appearence, or how she always had that dangerous feel to her. She sat five rows towards the back of the bus and would always sit at the window seat, that is of course only when it was raining out. On rainy days she would sit and watch the scenery pass by one the way home, one earbud in to ignore the world around her.

It was on one of these rainy days that a boy just happened to sit next to her.He wore a pair of ripped jeans, a white t-shirt, and a pair of old converse that were muddy due to the rain outside. Being the last one on the bus he had no choice but to sit in the empty seat next to the girl. Not wanting to get involved with the drugs that seemed to be passed around the bus, he took a chance to avoid it at any cost.

With no other choice the boy took a seat next to the girl cautiously. Usually, she wouldn't move or even glance at anyone, but when the boy sat down next to her he could have sworn she turned to gaze at him with her peircing blue eyes. The way her pale skin glowed under the lights of the city made him look at her with wonder, only to quickly turn away and change his thought process.

As the bus came to the fisrt stop he watched as some of the people filed off of the bus. He took a quick glance at the girl to notice she hasn't moved an inch," Probably not her stop" He thought as he turned his thoughts back to the music that played endlessly into his ears.

Stop after stop more and more people got off the bus. The boy would just sit and watch as their figures would disappear into the night. The girl beside him never moved, it didnt even see like she was blinking. he could barely tell if she was breathing. Her dark attire fit well with her pale skin and milk chocolate hair. everything about her was perfectly placed.

When the bus stopped at the most popular stop, the girl showed no interest in moving. The boy thought of it as his duty to unravel the strange phenominon of this girl. He has seen her so many times, but never saw her face or what stop she got off on. He had never seen her outside of the bus, and questioned if she even left the bus. "She might be homeless," He thought to himself while looking at her. His thoughts didn't make much sense as her appearence showed that she did indeed have some kind of money.

With his fathre at home and his mother out of the picture, the boy found it no issue to be a little late home. She couldn't live more than ten minutes from where he lived right?

While on the bus he watched his stop come and go. Besides the two of them, there were about four other people on the bus. Every now and then he would sneak glances at the mysterious girl, for she never even noticed. when he believed the last stop had come, he watched the four other people walk off the bus. The bus driver didn't say a word, yet continued to drive down the street.

With the boy being to the only person on the bus besides the girl, he heard the girl speak for the first time. "Hello," she said while still facing the window. Her voice wasn't soft and sweet like the other girls. Her voice wasn't rough, but sounded determined and wise. It intrigued him even more, as her voice almost brought peace to his ears.

"hey," The boy managed back. The girl didn't respond which gave him a spike of fear for the bus ride, until it came to a stop. The rain was thick and he could barely see anything, but the girl that stood there with a bag hanging over her shoulder. He let her pass him only to follow her outside onto the muddy side walk.

The boy could still not see her face, but he had noticed that she had taken the earbud out of her ear to hear all the sounds around them. "Be careful," she said softly against the rain," It's not safe here."

Her tone gave the boy a shiver,"Is this where you live?" He blurted out trying to get the attention of the girl, but there was only silence between them.

"I suppose," she said after many moments."I'll let you know that in some way, it is." After she spoke, she left only to have the boy watch her as her combat boots squished against the muddy ground. All at once the boy was alone, the only noise was the rain as it pelted the ground and anything that got in its way. Just as he was about to walk away, he heard someone whisper in his ear,"You should come back tomorrow, It is really quite lovely here." It sounded much like the girls voice, so he promised his return.

The next morning the boy did not remember much as to how he got home, but when he asked his father all he got was," You arrived home just on time." He didn't question anything, but was somewhat excited for the bus ride with the girl again. Despite the rain storm yesterday, today the sky looked brand new no dark ominous background and the soft sunlight basking off of everything. When he got on the bus, he spotted the girl and took his previous spot next to her.

"I see you came," She said as she noticed the boys precense. Her tone wasn't very happy, but seemed very monotone as he could tell that she didn't even break into a smile even though he couldn't see her face.

"That's the thing," He said,"I promised, and I don't break promises." The rest of the ride remained silent.

Once again the boy followed the girl off of the bus. The boy, not demanding anything, walked up to her not asking her a question or waiting for her to speak."Since you are here, I take it you want a tour around?" The boy nodded and followed the girl as she began to walk down the street.

As they walked down the street the boy never bothered to look at the girl to see if she was still there, he could feel her presence. The weather had taking a big contrast from the morning as the clouds rolled in and the rain fell once again. The boy thought it was weird as to how he never felt the rain hit him, or how his converse never got muddy even though it felt like he was walking through ten feet of snow."Where are we?" He asked.

The girl didn't reply but just chuckled, and kept walking.very lost and confused, the boy wanted to know why they were walking in a place with no houses or roads, no civilization. there was nothing, not a single thing execpt for the girl.

After what felt like hours, they both came to a patch of grass that soon turned into a large forest. All of a sudden the gril stopped moving, she stayed like that for quite some time. There was an eerie feeling to the air, and after a while the girl spoke up trembeling slightly," I don't think you are ready for this." She spoke softly.

"I have been following you for so long throgh this rain!! Show me what you will!" He said angrily as he had spent most of his day following this girl for what now seemed like nothing. Even though he was frustrated with her, he knew that he would do anything she said.

"Come back Monday, and you will be ready."

The rest of the boys day went like a blur as he didn't remember a single thing. When he got home, he asked his dad about the timing of his arrival with the response of,"Same as usual." And his dad went back to the football game that was previously recorded on the tv. Over the weekend he spent his time reading and drawing. Ocassionaly he would look out the window showing the fron of the house, to see if there were any passerbys. Everything to him was so boring and dull.

the days went by quickly, though when Monday came around it seemed to go by almost to slowly. When he got on the bus, instead of finding the girl, he found a note that stated:

This is far too much for you to handle ~ I'm sure. But if you are still willing, get off at the last stop and I will meet you there.

The note was not signed or anything, though the boy knew that it was from the girl. He left the note by his side as he watched the bus drive and drop off all of the riders. When he got off he was met with the girl, and still had the note in his hand."Just in time," the boy heard the girls voice from behind him. He didn't seem frightened by her sudden voice. He turned around to be blinded by a light, but was fully able to see her face that he had never really got a good look at before. He rubbed his eyes with his fists, and when he opened them he noticed he was being dragged along by her pulling his wrist."We should be there soon," She said,"Since we have already unlocked that memory."

Seconds later, they were bcak at the forest. They got there faster than before. The rain was barely there but still noticable."Are you ready?" She asked the boy.

"Ready," He stated as their fingers interwined. They walked side by side together, netiher of them looking at the other.

As they walked the pine trees consumed them, casting great shadows on the ground below them. There was no sound of leaves crashing under there foot steps, but there were other things. A branch broke in front of them and fell to the floor with a snap, which made the boy jump slightly. Looking for the branch and where it fell for a couple of seconds until he found it.

The branch was about six inches or more in diameter had fallen to the ground, but it was not alone. There was a rope connected to it, and connected to the rope was a body of a yound male. The boys eyes filled with horror as he saw the body."That's my brother!" He exclaimed with his heart racing, yet he didn't leave the girls side.

"The don't look up," The girl said in a tone that was strong but not meant to be rude in any way. The boy couldn't stop himself after that and glanced up at the trees hitting the skyline, only to find tears starting to spring from his eyes.

There hung two more bodies of young men. Both of which were also his brothers. The awful image of their bodies burned in his mind."Whatever you do, do not let go of my hand," The girl hissed to him as he collapsed to the floor in dispair. The girl drug the boy to the edge of the forest by the wrist as he cried out. When they left the forest floor, they both collapsed on the now concrete floor.

"I told you, you weren't ready," She said with no emotion,"I would refuse to let you go further but-" She stopped mid sentence.

"But what?" He bairely managed to stutter out.

"Next week," She replied,"Next week."

And so he did, he followed her home that very next Monday. The images of last time burned through his mind, where they real? Why were they there? The boy followed the girl as they walked along the concrete they landed on last week."I would suggest making no movements towards anything you see,"She said to the boy taking his hand again. He shook his head and obliged, vowing to do as she says. Though as they continued he found it very hard to do.

There steps on the concrete became seemingly familiar, and as they walked it became more and more familiar to him."Honey, are you ready to make dinner?" A voice asked as the boy recognized emiedaiatly as his fathers.

The boy opened his eyes to see his mother sitting at the table in the kitchen of his home reading a book. The Great Gatsby, ah how the boy remembered how his mother loved that book. He would see her reading it on occasion."And why must I do everything?" His mother snapped while still looking at the book.

"I'll make dinner then, it is no problem." His father said as hewas always the polite one. He saw his father kick off his shoes and walk further in the house, until a blinding light flasehd and the boy shielded his eyes. He let out a low scream, as he saw pictures in his mind of what seemed to come from poloroids. He saw his father violently draw a knife and stab his mother. The boy nearly colapsed, but the girl caught him before he could."I remember!" He screamed,"I remember it all!!"

The scene changed when he saw the father dragging a little boy into the room."That's me," he whispered,"That was me." they both trembled in fear as the woman layed motinless."I want to leave," The boy said and tried to push past everything, but the girls feet acted as though they were nailed to the ground.

"You can't leave,"She said,"Wouldn't you like to see what you have never seen before?" The boy gulped and drew in a breath, nodding to the girl. He turned and looked in silence at the man. It was a gruesome scene but his attention was drawn away when the paramedics came. They wheeled her away with his father in tears next to him. His dad was always a good actor, always putting on a show. They watched as they wheeled her away, more images flashed thorugh his mind but he stayed focused on this one.

From what he had gathered, his mother was still alive though his father had been charged with murder and put to death. He lived with his mother for most of his life which made the boy question,Why am I with my father and not my mother?" The girl swallowed hard, trying to get the boy not to get ahead of himself."No," he protested,"I need to know."

"Tomor-"

"No today."

The girl nodded pushing forward, bringing the boy along with her. In a couple of minutes, they were both at a subway station. The boy would take the subway into the city, and back home, though it was less crowded then usual. The rain hit the roof above their heads."This...is the last part." The girl choked out."Are you sure you want to go through with this?"

The boy nodded. For weeks he had be taunted with the images the girl had shown him. His hanging brothers, his murderous father, and now the pieces were coming together.the boy let go of the girls hand, and she didn't try to take it back.she let him go on as she kept her head down.

"It's almost five," The boy said as he looked up at the time."My train will be here soon." He walked forward and stood on the yellow platform that had words painted on it saying 'do not stand'. The toes of his shoes laid in the air in front of the platform, while his heels stayed firm to the ground. The girl knew what he had to do,and had five minutes to make sure he knew what else he needed to know.

"So do you know what has happened?' The girl asked walking towards the boy. He didn't look back at her,but merely ahead.

The girl nodded slowly,"Anything else?"

There was a long silence, minutes had passed and not a word had been said. The boy nor the girl were crying,or laughing or showing any emotion. The clock struck five at night. The train was barreling down the tracks at moderate speed.

The boy sighed and turned to face the girl fully. She had a full, pale face, with rosy cheeks. Her blue eyes were emotionless, much like his brown ones. Her pink lips pursed together and made no movement to speak.

He parted his one last time,"Thank you for leading me to the afterlife." And he fell backwards onto the tracks. The girl didn't flinch, nor cry.

The girl merely said,"May heaven treat you well my lost soul."
