Hey, everyone! I'm Liz, the author of this article, and I'm very lucky to be doing it.
So, in this edition, I'll be teaching you how to jump serve a volleyball.
JUMP SERVE
☁ First, you need to stand behind the service line of the court. This is a regulation in volleyball. Make sure that you have enough room to take three large strides before you eventually hit the ball.
☁ Take one big stride forward, making sure that your left heel hits the ground. The steps you will take (in order) are left-right-left.
☁ Stride forward again, this time with your right leg. Make sure that these strides are large. As you step forward, throw the ball straight into the air, towards the ceiling. This toss should be high.
☁ Take one last stride, and place your right foot on the ground. You should now jump to meet the ball in the air.
☁ As the ball is coming down, you need to collide your hand with it, powerfully. You should be aiming to hit the center of the ball, right by the top. Imagine a dot right at that spot. It can be whatever color you want it to be. Use your imagination.
☁ You should fall through with your jump, landing on or near the service line. Your weight will carry you forward.
☁ Practice the jump serve as often as possible. Try to keep your balance throughout the course of the serve!
Well, that's all! I hope you enjoyed this article!
