a nightmare of a thing

It was here that I almost learned of it's name. The low gutteral growl came from beneath the wooden floors. A name I couldn't make out due to the layers of thick black tongues and twists. A whirlwind of ooze hidding something I can only describe as a night mare. It's thick white skin pulled in on itself as though constricting it's very bones, Attempting to infuse itself into the marrow. It's head cut in brutal mutilated pieces where its mouth should be. A wide grin sawed from beneath it's jaw into it's neck. Oozing black blood, spitting globs of mucus and oil. A beast of a thing with the most beautiful blue eyes. Like oceans curling onto a Sandy shore in the middle of summer. On a day where everything is calm and peaceful. Those eyes held me captive for so long. I spoke to it daily. Fed it small pieces of me that I could give. We became friends though it never spoke back. It's oozing grin did not scare me. For to me it was just a smile. We were the best of friends for so long. And one day, something changed. I had nothing on me left to give it. But it grew hungry, day by day it sniffed at me and whined. Until it gave into it's temptations. No remorse in it's oceans the tides crashing into me forced my gaze to dim itself. Thick dark pools formed on the ground beneath me. The wooden floors of my home ruined by the nightmare I let walk beside me.
