"daniel! y'all were amazing!" i screamed as i ran up to my boyfriend and gave him a hug.
a smile appeared on his face once he saw me and he wrapped his arms around my waist tightly.
"i'm so happy you got to see us!" he said in my neck. we swayed back and forth and didn't let go.
we eventually broke the hug and i stepped back from daniel.
i remembered something that corbyn had told me earlier that day and a wave of nervousness washed over me.
"can we uh, talk? in private?" i asked daniel with a hint of worry in my voice.
daniel's eyes shifted from bright and happy to dull and full of worry.
"yeah, sure," he said taking my hand and bringing us over to a wall where there was not that many people around.
"what's up?" he asked me.
"so, when you left out of the room at some point today, corbyn said something to me," i explained.
"what did he say? nothing bad though, right?" daniel asked with worry.
"no, no. it's nothing bad," i reassured him.
"what is it, then?"
i took a deep breath, "corbyn told me things about you and your ex-girlfriend. how when she broke up with you, you would be so hung up on her and wouldn't talk to the rest of the guys.
"he told me that ever since we've been dating, you've changed. he said that he's happy that we're together."
i paused for a brief moment, and silence filled the air.
"well, thats good right? so, why did it sound like you had to tell me something bad?" daniel asked me with a worried laugh.
"that isn't all he told me," i said. i looked down at my feet and closed my eyes shut tightly.
"what else did he say?" daniel said just above a whisper.
i didn't say anything for a moment.
i looked back up at daniel and stared into his deep blue eyes that were filled with worry.
"he said to me," i began, "that he thinks that you're truly over your ex-girlfriend."
daniel's eyes softened, "oh."
"and that you're also completely in love with me."
daniel's eyes slightly widened at what i told him. "oh," was all he said.
he looked down at his feet, copying my actions from a few moments ago.
it was complete silent in the room.
"say something," i begged in a whisper.
"i," he stuttered, "i still am in love with kassidy."
once those words came out of his mouth, i could hear my heart breaking into a bunch of tiny pieces.
"oh."
"yeah."
the thing that hurt the most, was that i felt as if i was starting to develop real feelings for daniel.
and he couldn't even get a girl that treated him like shit off of his mind.
