Under the dark blanket of night, far above the skies and into the space between stars, shone an ancient city. Street lamps were the only sources of light at this hour and one angel was still awake. She had arrived at a sacred building; massive in size, it had many rows of steps that were a spectacle to see in itself. There were three hulky guards stationed at the entrance. Each equipped with various types of weaponry. With a deep breath, the girl walked up to them and bowed at their feet.

"Hello, sirs, may I have permission to visit this sacred place?" She asked, "I've heard of its history and wish to view it with my own eyes."

One of the guards took two steps forward and examined the girl. He seemed to recognize her appearance as she held her breath before he towered over her. Then, he bowed in return and the guards behind him did the same.

"O-Of course, Lucy! You're one of the best angels we have in the Seraphim rank, we've heard stories of your strength! Uh, care to tell us why you're here during this hour?"

"Right! Uh, I'm part of the new Seraphim group that makes sure each building...is up to date!" She smiled at them. "If you haven't heard, there's been some trouble happening with vandalized property. So, I'm here to make sure that won't happen!"

"That's a relief! See, we're worried that this building wasn't up to standards ourselves." The guard chuckled. "We need to go check on the other buildings since the Archangels are coming to visit tomorrow.

They stepped aside and opened the grey wooden doors for her. The guards soon took flight and hurried off as Lucy entered the building. Stone marble covered the floors and paintings of graceful deities filled the walls. Muffled sounds of the whirling winds outside gave Lucy a relaxed feel to the sacred place. She closed her eyes and began concentrating on her energy. Soon, a bright light emanated from her body and gave off warmth most familiar to sunlight. It bubbled and surged throughout her body like ocean waves. Energy enveloped her hands and she felt it radiate with warmth, lighting the whole room. She watched as it cut through the shadows. Lucy then saw several markings of an ancient text written in an archaic language.

I can't believe that I'm even in a place like this. Lucy let out an annoyed huff. So much history here and so much to vent with. She couldn't help but smirk.

With a deep sigh, Lucy punched at the air with quick jabs. Each punch delivered a burst of energy as her muscles tensed. The energy penetrated through the thick walls and left many gaping holes.

"Whew, that felt great!" Lucy cheered to herself, "It beats sitting around and not doing anything productive. Those Archangels always downplay my potential. So, I'll let my anger out on their 'precious' buildings." She raised her fist in the air with triumph.

Lucy took another deep breath and a long, thin blade shot out from her hand. She looked around until she spotted an unscathed part of the wall. Lucy listened to see if the guards had returned yet. Hearing nothing other than a shrill response from the wind, she continued with her plan.

Who knew being a Seraphim rank could thrive off incompetence. The Archangels must be wearing these guards down by a lot.

Lucy dug her blade into the wall with little effort and watched as chips of marble hit the floor. She pushed deeper and started to form a straight line. Finished with it, she then followed up with some curved lines. After marking the wall with the word "RESPECT" etched onto it. She dispersed her energy with almost no exertion and the room grew dark once more.

"Awesome, I'd say my penmanship is improving fast! The guards likely won't care to check if they return for the night." She crossed her arms in satisfaction. "Speaking of which, I should go before they come back."

Her angelic wings extended from her shoulders. Soft yet robust, they had white feathers almost like a dove’s. Lucy took the rear exit since no guards patrolled the exit and jumped from a nearby platform. As she soared through the night sky, she felt the wind touch her face.

It would've been great if Talai showed up to watch me. Suppose I'll grill him over his absence tomorrow!

With a relieved grin, Lucy arrived at her house and landed to avoid making much noise. She approached the front door and made each step as quiet as possible. Before her hand touched the doorknob a flashing light reached her. Lucy groaned and banged her head on the door while she gritted her teeth in dismay.

"Great, Old Man Herald somehow heard me trying to sneak into my own house." She looked over to the neighboring house.

An elderly man stepped outside with his walking cane. "Hello there, Lucy!" he shouted, "Staying out late again? Did you tell your parents about being out so late?"

She grimaced at him and waved back to him. "Uh hey, Herald." Lucy mumbled. "Yeah, I was out with some friends and my parents knew about it so no need to worry!" She tapped her foot on the steps and waited for him to turn the porch lights off.

Herald smiled and turned to go back inside. As he hobbled to the door, the floorboards of the porch made a nasty screeching sound with each step he took. "Ok now, you take care and have a goodnight, Lucy." He entered his house and the porch lights soon went off, darkness returned at last.

Lucy huffed as she reached for the door and turned the knob, she felt it open at her push. "Geez, that old geezer needs to stop being so nosy. I hope my parents are sleeping and I'm still in the clear-"

"Tell everyone that I said hello! Forgot to mention that, sorry!" Herald shouted again.

His shadow peeked out from the door and startled Lucy. She groaned to herself before stepping inside the house and walking into her room. Lucy turned on the lights and looked into the mirror with her light-blue eyes blinking at it. Then, she fixed her blonde hair so it went behind her head. Lucy walked away from the mirror and went over to her nightstand. She picked up a congratulatory letter from the Academy.

"Who knows, I could be making a mistake by vandalizing these buildings. I doubt it would make much difference to them. They see me as a waste of their time and attention."

Lucy turned off the bedroom lights and sat in bed while staring into total darkness. She clenched her fists and grabbed at the soft covers.

I hope tomorrow brings something exciting. This city has nothing for me to look forward to...

She crumpled up the letter and tossed it towards the corner of the room. Her thoughts continued to run wild behind her closed eyes and she found it hard to sleep. With a troubled look on her face, Lucy kept turning over in bed throughout the night.

                           ***

The sun had risen and morning arrived for Civitas In Caelum but Lucy was still deep in her slumber. Her mother was cooking the usual American breakfast that consisted of eggs and bacon. The smell of food woke most of the family from sleep as she made her way down the hallway to Lucy's bedroom.

"Lucy dear, it's time to get up! You can't protect the city if you're slumbering about." Her mother flipped on the bedroom and hallway lights.

Lucy had her face buried in her pillows and her hair was a complete mess. She sat up to rub her eyes and saw her mother's gentle blue eyes. Her mother wore the same small apron over her dress that never seemed worn out.

"Ugh...I hear you, Mom." Lucy let out a loud yawn, "No need to blind me with the lights now!" Lucy rose from bed to fix her hair and stretched out her arms and wings.

"Breakfast is in the kitchen when you're ready, we're having some American eggs and bacon! Lux and Yori are already eating so come on." Her mother left the room and walked further down the hallway into the laundry den.

Lucy stood up, opened the closet and changed into fresh new clothes. "We always have the same type of American food." She grumbled to herself, "...why not something different like takoyaki or bratwurst?"

She made her way towards the kitchen where her father and younger sister were eating.

"Good morning! How's my strong girl doing? Take down any demons in dreamland?" Lux asked in a jesting manner.

Lucy rolled her eyes, sat down at the table and looked down at the plate. It had a heaping serving of biscuits, gravy, and eggs. "Hey, Dad, do you think we can try something with more variety tomorrow?" She glanced up at him for an answer, he was still eating and had his mouth full.

"Well..." He muffled his words. "We could try something different but biscuits and gravy are what your mother loves to cook!" He laughed, "Americans do make great meals and besides, Yori likes it as much as I do! So, why the long face, dear?"

Yori grinned, her face red from embarrassment as she continued to eat her breakfast. "S-Sorry, sister, it's-, I like seeing my breakfast smile at me every morning! Mother makes it so cute and delicious!"

"I'm not that hungry right now." She got up from the table, "You can have my food Dad, I'm going out to train."

As Lucy left the house in a hurry, Yori looked over at her father and watched him scarf down some eggs.

"Father, how come she's been in a sour mood lately? Is breakfast getting boring? Lucy used to love this kind of food and stayed to talk with us!"

"Your sister is likely tired of waiting for a change in pace here. It's only been a few months since she graduated from the Academy." Lux stopped scraping food off Lucy's plate. "Clara and I worry that her impatience will get her in some sort of trouble." He chowed down on his remaining breakfast and could hear his wife approach to enter the kitchen.

Clara glanced at them with a warm smile and gathered up the dirty plates to clean them. "Speaking of the Academy, Yori, don't forget you have classes to attend in a few minutes. A field trip about exploring careers seems exciting, I wouldn't want you to miss it!"

"Oh my goodness, I forgot about the trip!" Yori jumped up in a panic, "That means new clothes for today! Looking nice is the first priority for job hunting!!" She rushed into her room and dug through her closet. After a quick change of clothes, she got ready to leave for her class. Yori ran past the neighboring houses before she arrived at a dead end. Then, she saw that her sister was about to leave for the guards' training ground and approached her.

I may be late for class and finding a job for myself, but Lucy seems troubled. If I ask her, she may answer me and we can sort it out!

Yori caught up to her sister, her wings fluttering from exhaustion.

"Um, you need something?" Lucy turned to her, "I gotta go soon so could you tell me what you want?"

"Sis, I'm worried about you. You've been acting so grumpy and father said it's because of patience. Is that why?"

"Yori...please leave me alone, I do not feel like discussing my feelings." Lucy frowned at her and turned away, "I need some time for myself right now, we'll talk later, I promise."

Yori stood there watching as Lucy flew off for the training grounds. She then flew off to class for the upcoming field trip.

                             ***

Lucy flew to the training grounds as her eyebrows furrowed in response to what her sister said. Her teeth grinded side to side and her nails dug into her skin.

Yori wouldn't understand my problems, she's still in the Cherub rank and too innocent to know...

She landed on the soft ground and saw her comrades were already sparring. Her mentor conversed with other subordinates while they watched a fight take place. Then, she saw her friend from a distance and ran over to him.

"Hey, it's about time you got here! I've been waiting for like, an hour!" He shouted at her.

Lucy tossed her hair around so it went to her right side and she crossed her arms. "Tch, Talai, you should know by now that I like to show up whenever I want. Also, where were you last night!? Did you bail on me like a wuss?"

"No, I happened to get caught up by some archangels again. They're suspecting some Cherub angels of vandalizing property." He paused then whispered, "I could care less about this whole ranking bullshit so I got another idea. You feel like relieving some more stress and pissing off the authorities?"

Lucy looked over his shoulder and saw their mentor approach them. "Uh-oh, we got some company."

The mentor was an older man, his hair had receded to his sides and he only kept a short beard. He looked at Lucy while Talai walked a few feet from her towards another fight that was getting ready to begin.

"If it isn't my star pupil, Lucy! You're showing so much potential here lately. You may even receive an honorable mention among the Archangels!"

"Oh wow, that's... uh, great news, Duke!" She gave him a fake smile, "If I get promoted, I can be a source of inspiration for everyone right? Lately, I've been having some doubts and-"

"Why of course! Who knows, in a few hundred years or so you may become a Guardian Angel!" He snickered. "I know it's not that high-ranking position you want, but still, it's one step further up in this system."

He laughed and slapped her back as he almost cried from joy. Lucy shuddered at the thought of waiting for such a banal promotion. She then joined in by laughing with him which made her feel awkward. Talai saw this from afar and watched with amusement. Lucy retaliated with a sharp glare that made Talai look away until Duke cleared his throat.

"Sorry to keep your hopes up so much, I know how much you care about this sort of thing." His face grew red from all the laughter. "That's how being an angel works, Archangels pick who they want based on charm and not merits."

He walked away from her as the stony platforms shifted around and gave way to more space for the battles. She let out a groan when Talai rested his arm on her shoulder.

"Feel like sparring some before we talk about plans for tonight? It doesn't seem like he has any hopes for you." He whispered in her ear, "Why not raise a little hell and grab his attention?"

Lucy's eyebrows quirked up at the idea and she nodded to him. "You know how much I love fighting so sure, I'm game!"

The two stepped back from each other and entered the training area. Lucy popped her neck from side to side and positioned her legs as she felt both her fists crackle. "I hope you're ready to get your butt kicked, Tal!"

Talai stood there with his hands to the sides to take a defensive stance and raised his arms above his waist. "Don't get too cocky now, Lucy."

With deep concentration in her eyes, Lucy felt as if time had slowed down. She bent down so her right leg arched to the ground, then she exploded like a bullet. Lucy closed in on him with tremendous speed. "Think you can handle this!?" She shouted at him with a grin.

Talai, surprised by the sudden speed, pulled his arms up to block the assault. A powerful punch connected to his arms like a bull had bucked him and a gust of wind swirled around. As he skidded, he fell to the floor and kicked her up into the air. "You know your punches sting...like a lot!" Talai responded before he stood up.

Lucy regained her balance, did a twirl in the air like a bird and dive-bombed him. Talai used his hands to catch her attack and gritted his teeth against the sharp pain. With so much pressure, it formed a crater beneath them as he struggled under the force and felt the ground crack. "What can I say?" Lucy smiled and saw the crater grow larger, "Must've gone overboard too soon already?"

"Gotta admit, you make aggressive attacks hard to counter when you're hyped up like this." Talai shoved her off and dusted the debris off his clothes.

Lucy now glowed with a bright light and her energy manifested a blade into her right hand. She formed a sly grin on her face and kept the blade steady as the energy flowed through her like a gushing river. "Let's see if you can catch this, Tal. If not then you might get cut up!"

Talai's body glowed like hers and light energy wrapped around his hands. A slender sword emerged from his hands and he aimed the blade at her. "Always trying to go all out for a show, hmm? I can't  blame you since this is where the fun begins!" Talai yelled out with excitement.

Duke heard their battle and went over to observe their fight. Lucy and Talai dashed towards each other and their blades collided with sparks. They made a shock-wave emit which rattled their bones. Talai pushed back on her blade and forced it to her shoulder which strained his muscles as he did so. Lucy tried to push back on him before she let out a snicker that grabbed his attention.

"Hey, Tal?" She grunted, "You know what your biggest weakness is?"

"Not giving you any leniency?" He replied with a cheeky grin.

Lucy shook her head and her fingertips lit up with energy. She pierced him with a few beams of concentrated energy. It left tiny holes into his white shirt and stung him as he tumbled.

"Nah, more like your guard is off, you could use more training on that, Tal." Lucy with a swift move brought the blade back on him until it was inches away from his face.

"Ack! Alright, you asked for it then, we're fighting for real now!" Talai jumped back with his blade dispersing and the ground rumbled. Duke grew more concerned and flew off to their arena. Talai's energy bubbled with a powerful flash of light that erupted from his entire body. A set of energy gauntlets appeared on his arms now, colored in gold and silver. "You won't be the only one throwing hard punches!" He flexed his muscles at her.

Lucy stood there and dispersed her blade. She felt her arms shake with pleasure and laughed to herself. "I know how much you like fighting in hand-to-hand combat, so I'll be happy to oblige!"

Both flew at each other and were about to throw a punch when a bright light engulfed the training area. It blinded the two for a moment and stopped them from getting any further.

"That's quite enough you two! Any more blows and we could see major destruction of the training grounds!" Duke shouted to them.

"Alright, whatever you say, old man." Talai's gauntlets disbanded into light particles, "I only wanted to have some fun and put on a show."

"Yes sir, sorry for the trouble." Lucy scowled but soon calmed herself, "We got caught up in it."

"Save that kind of fighting for a tournament. You should know this, Lucy, it's something we talked about. If you continue doing this, I'll tell your parents about your reckless attitude!" Duke scolded her.

He flew off while more angels flew into the training area. Lucy crossed her arms in discontent and grumbled an insult. Then, she turned over to Talai and they both stared over the open fields.

"About that plan for tonight? What'd you have in mind exactly?" Lucy rubbed her shoulders and kicked at the ground.

Talai's face lit up and he led her away from the training grounds.

                            ***

The two arrived in a more secluded area from the training grounds. It gave a wide view of the bright blue sky and clouds that traveled north of the city.

"Hey, how does messing with some high ranking angel monuments pique your interest? It's not like you're getting anywhere here, they don't respect you as you respect them. Why not leave them a message with some paint?" Talai asked with a wide smile.

"Alright fine, I've grown tired of angels talking down to me and ignoring my ideas!" Lucy chuckled. "We'll have to wait until nightfall though, it'd look suspicious if we were to leave now so keep a low profile."

The two waited for night to come and spent the whole day at the training ground. When night finally came most angels returned to their homes. Yori was going home when she noticed her sister wasn't around.

Hmm, that's strange, Lucy's always ahead of me so I don't get lost. Yori looked behind her. She's likely off with Talai tonight but it still worries me. I hope she'll be okay at a time like this...

                           ***

At the training grounds, Talai and Lucy had checked to make sure no one was still around. They then flew off to a nearby monument building. It was a grand structure that boasted a wide array of statues made to honor the archangels.

"We used to come to this place when I was little. My father and I...it reminded me of a simpler time. Back when my role models gave me hopes and dreams." She bit her lip, "Now, I’m ashamed for even believing in them."

"I know how you feel, Lucy. Which is why tonight we'll make a statement. Causing mischief is my job at this point!" Talai grinned at her.

They landed near the entrance and kept silent to themselves. There were many guards stationed at the entrance.

"Looks like no one spotted us, these monuments should be more important tonight, right?" Talai whispered.

The two noticed various holes near the roof that were large enough to fit through. Talai and Lucy hovered to an opening and checked for any guards as they did so. When they entered the building a row of marble statues stood before them. Talai took a bottle of paint out from under his shirt along with two paint brushes.

"I'd say we begin this remodeling session! You know what to do, Tal. Hand me a brush will ya?"

He tossed her one and opened up the lid, they dipped their brushes into the bottle. Lucy leaped up to a statue and hovered above it before she started. She painted the statue with a bright yellow color that gave it a goofy look. Then, she added a mustache, beard, and side-burns to the statue of a female angel. Lucy moved from statue to statue with quick haste where applied paint to every monument in the row. Talai looked at the one he was painting and wrote a poem that mocked the angel. The statues now looked like a discombobulated mess as both stood there to take in the art they created.

"I'd say these look leagues better than those ugly old statues. Wouldn't you, Tal? They remind me of angels that try to fit me into a perfect mold...I'm so done trying to impress those assholes."

Talai rested his arms on his sides and looked over to her. "Glad you could see how pointless it is trying to gain the approval of Archangels. My parents spent decades trying to reach that rank, so obsessed with being honorable." He narrowed his eyes, "Those damn angels have their heads too up their asses to even care."

Lucy remained silent and stared up at a remaining statue. She hopped up on the pedestal and was about to apply more paint to it when an arm broke off and hit the floor. While Lucy jumped back the statue tipped over and crashed onto the floor. It shattered into rubble which caused a loud echo and the two ran towards the exit in a panic. A light flashed which enveloped them from the behind, and there stood Duke who was in utter shock.

"Lucy, Talai!? Oh, heavens, what are you doing!? Do you have any idea what your reckless stunt did? The Archangels are going to lose their minds over this, I can't even fathom their rage!" Duke exclaimed with anger.

Talai shrugged and held his arms out to him. "Look, Duke, I can explain it was-"

"This had nothing to do with him, I was here all by myself and felt like destroying some property. In fact, he caught me in the act and tried to stop me, sir!" Lucy explained.

She stood in front of him, Talai looked surprised by this and was about to speak up. Lucy glanced at him with a wink to keep his mouth shut. Duke stood there grimacing before he resolved himself.

"My star pupil, why would you protect this low-life scum? I would let this slide for you but if you're covering for him, I can't promise to save your reputation."

"Please, sir, I'm begging you. Talai is my best friend and I won't allow you to punish him! If you report us both, then I'll have no choice but to fight you for his sake." Lucy held her fists up, "So, report me instead!"

"I-If I weren't so old, I'd take your threat to the arena! You've been more defiant than usual and I've learned now what you've been doing." He turned to Talai, "Now, you're saving your friend who's as guilty as yourself!?"

Lucy watched him leave the building and yell to the guards. She felt as if a jab had hit her in the stomach, it was a sense of dread and sorrow. Talai grabbed her by the arm and they flew out of the building before the guards could catch them.

"Ugh, why'd you take all the blame!? Why couldn't you let a nobody like myself talk, Duke would've been-"

Lucy leaned over and gave him a quick hug. "My parents may roast me over this but I at least know you'll be safe. Consider that a goodbye hug from your best friend, Tal."

Talai stood there beside himself and put a hand up to his cheek. He blushed and had no time to react or watch as she flew off and disappeared from his view. Then, he took off to his own home before the guards rushed outside the building. Lucy made her way home and entered through the front door to the kitchen. She stumbled upon her father and mother who both looked concerned with her.

"We heard what you did from Duke's messenger. That was very reckless of you, Lucy!" Her mother scolded.

"I’m disappointed in myself and I'm sorry, Mom. " She stared down at her feet and felt anxious with herself as her hands shook.

Lux stood from the table and let out a disappointed sigh. "I had a feeling you were up to no good, we're worried sick about you!" He flailed his arms at her, "Who even knows what they'll do tomorrow? Banishment seems to be the most appropriate punishment for the crime."

Lucy clenched her fists and bit her lip but refused to cry. "I-I'm going to bed, goodnight..."

She walked down the hallway, entered her room, and closed the door as fast as she could. An immense feeling of regret struck her and even gave her goosebumps. Lucy flopped onto the bed while staring at the ceiling and wiping her eyes.

I can't shake this feeling off...what's gonna happen tomorrow...?

Yori was in the next room across from her and had listened to the previous conversation. "Sister, I wish there was some way to help you."

                           ***

As night came and went, Lucy spent her time by tossing and turning in bed. A knot formed in her stomach and her chest tightened from the thoughts that ran wild in her head. Lucy finally saw sunlight reach her room and jolted out of bed. She went to the bathroom and with a hot shower to cure herself of any drowsiness. Then she dried off with a towel and got dressed in new clothes. Lucy entered the kitchen and sat down in silence. There was no breakfast on the table.

Huh? I was expecting the same food we always have. Guess they didn't feel like looking at me this morning…

The door to her parent's room was still closed and she could hear them snoring. A knock at the door caught her attention, Lucy got up and eased herself to the door. She opened it and saw an angel in formal attire.

"You're Miss Lucy, correct? The council is ready to see you."

She nodded and followed him outside to the nearby sidewalk. "Ready when you are, sir, lead the way."

As they left the neighborhood, Lucy looked back with a somber smile and continued onwards.

This might be my last time in this city, with my family and best friend. There's no telling where they’ll banish me to or if I can return home…

                            ***

They arrived at the council chambers, the building itself was quite massive. Wooden doors and windows adorned the front entrance. Columns supported the bottom floors and curved pillars made up the top floors. The servant guided Lucy into an open room and left her in front of seated judges. They looked down at her as she stared back at them. One angel stood up to act as the chamber speaker for the judges.

"We were given a report by your mentor, Mister Duke Sterling. He claims you vandalized several monuments and said you did this with a friend. Is that correct, Miss Lucy?"

"Well, I would like to use the word 'remodel' but I did it all by myself. There was no one else with me."

There was complete silence in the room for a few seconds which made her uncomfortable.

"Enough of your insolence!" The speaker shouted. "Do you not realize the consequences of violating the Sacred Accords!? For someone who graduated from the Seraphim Academy. You're quite an undisciplined and ignorant young lady!"

Lucy stood from her seat, glanced over to them and cleared her throat. "I wanted to become an Archangel so bad, to fulfill my dreams and become an inspiration! I was impatient, reckless, and now I realize that it's not worth it. So, whatever punishment you have for me get it over with! I'm tired of playing by the rules here!!"

The council murmured at each other and looked back at her. "We will discuss it soon, so give us a few minutes."

Lucy bowed her head to them and remained silent until an intense ray of light filled the room. Almost blinding her with its presence, there stood a goddess who was tall with a robust build. Her body radiated a heat unlike any other and her eyes glowed with pure light. It looked as if she was staring right through Lucy's soul. The council gasped at her presence and bowed while they kept their heads down and felt the heat wash over them.

"W-What brings us your divine presence, Seden, our goddess? Do you wish to deliver the verdict t-to this wretched angel?" Asked the nervous speaker.

Seden raised her hand and the council quit bowing. "Stop speaking!" Her voice boomed with intensity and silenced the whole room. "My judgment for this angel who defiled holy monuments is to expunge her from Civitas In Caelum. I hereby banish you to the nearest solar system. The beings there can decide your fate!"

A bolt of lightning penetrated the building and wrapped around the Seden’s body. Lucy got struck with an immense surge of power that made her writhe in pain. It made her muscles contort and spasm with great pain. Her eyes changed from blue to purple, her hair turned to jet black and her wings were burnt. The energy from her body dispersed and turned into an orb by Seden.

"Begone fallen angel, your presence in this realm is no longer viable! Let whatever inhabitants find you show mercy on you!!" Seden shouted.

A hole opened from beneath Lucy and as she plummeted down into the abyss. She looked up at the city which faded from her sight with the hole closed. Lucy now descended through space and felt the harsh cold hit her.

S-So that was the power of a god? Thought I was strong but now I'm nothing. Talai, I'm sorry for bailing on you and the same goes to you, sister...

Her eyes looked down to see a small blue speck appear in the far distance. A white speck was next to it and the sun was further beyond it. It felt familiar to her and it was something her mother mentioned almost every morning.

                            ***

Back at the council, Talai was spying on the council from outside the chambers.

"Good riddance, that girl was nothing but trouble for us. To think, she wanted to be an archangel? We need to get rid of more problems that stand in our utopia." They continued to converse over the matter which made Talai frown with disdain.

He exited the building and punched at the stone wall until his fists bled and let out a rage filled groan. "I can't believe a goddess banished her from the city like that! Lucy, wherever you are please be safe until I find help!!"
