I finally get my things and head on with the rest of my day. Lunch comes around and I look for T, she immediately sees me and asks me to sit with her. I did she is my best friend.
"Jay, Over here!" she waved at me.
I was just relieved she didn't hate me. I already hated myself for having my time wasted on a trashy relationship.
"Hey T.." I said as she gave me a look.
"So, your not going to tell me about the hot guy you got paired with in history?" she says as she open her juice box and applesauce.
" Cute guy? I don't know what your talking about?"
" So we are just going to pretend that he doesn't exist or are my eyes fooling me?" now she is looking at me.
I couldn't keep it in anymore.
"He is cute isn't he?"
"Nah he's ugly." I laugh.
Me and T have been friends since forever. I'm so happy we decided to go to the same college. As I'm talking to my best friend I see Cardo and it looks like he is already getting recruited by the athletes. How is it his first day and he is already loved? This is the first time I am really looking at him. My ex could never. He had style, great teeth, he looked like he had a huge coughs WOW I think I'm getting sick. Anyway... He looked perfect. I was crushing so hard but I didn't know much about him, then I remembered he is coming over tonight. I can ask him questions then. Perfect. I have to tell T.
" And then I fell, I hope it heals before homecoming..." she says as she shows the scar.
What was she talking about again?
" You weren't playing attention were you?" as she snaps her fingers in front of my face.
I must love her because if it would have been someone else I would have said something.
" I have to tell you something." I say as I turn to her.
She eats a grape." What about? How you had already met him and DIDN'T mention me continue."
Damn, she knew me so well.
" Yes and no. Okay so you remembered when you asked me why I didn't text back? Well, it was because I was so upset and that was when I met him at the grocery store. I was buying gummy worms an-"
I was going on until she interrupted me.
"JAY! We were supposed to save that for this weekend!"
" Girl we can have gummy worms this weekend. It's never a bad time. Anyway I saw him for the first time and I could have sown the whole world stopped. It was as if it was only me and him at that moment and everything else didn't matter. I never felt that way with Eli. And when he looked at me it was as if he saw the same thing or felt the same thing. I wasn't sure, I'm still not sure. It felt... real. And it scared me. Everything was going perfect until he's girlfriend showed up." I say as I take the first bite of my sandwich.
This shit is dry. I don't eat much but this was not it.
"Wait he's straight. Jaylin. What if he breaks your heart? I can tell you are already falling. Look at you. Look I'm not saying things couldn't change but be careful. I don't want you to be sad. Look at the last relationship." she now hugging me.
"See this is where your wrong, we are just friends nothing is going to happen."
"Yet. " she says.
Sometimes I think T is my guardian angel she can predict the future and she hasn't been wrong yet. I hug her back. She was right. But I didn't know yet.
"Look I have to get going to my next class. We will finish this conversation this weekend." she gets ready to leave but I pull her down.
" That's not all..." I say having a small smile come to my face. " He asked me to be his partner for the rest of the semester! And that's not it. He asked if he can come over to my house to finish the project and hang out!" I say as her mouth is in shocked.
"Wait he asked you? What do you think this means?"
I thought of this before but still didn't know. I came up with one word.
"Friendship?"

I hear a knock on the door. He's on time that must mean he's a man of his world. I open the door and see no books just him.
" I'm confused? Weren't we supposed to finish the project?" I ask the question and he started to laugh.
"No Hello? And my books are in the car. I thought I could spend the night and we can work on the project tomorrow since it's Saturday tomorrow." He said having his hands in his pocket.
Shit! T is going to hate me. I had plans with her tomorrow but I do want to spend time with Cardo but we do need to get this project done.
CARDO'S THOUGHTS
I just met Jay a few days ago and it's something about him that I can't put my finger on. He is so interesting to me and I can't explain why. It's almost as there is something I should know. I didn't know Jay went to my school but I was happy he did. Another part of me was happy I was single. What am I saying? Jay's house was so clean and organized. I finally looked at Jay. He had curls everywhere and lounge clothes on. I don't know why but he looked so beautiful at that moment. You know as a friend... I really just wanted to get to know him. As I finish my sentence I look at Jay more one time and this thing happens. " Don't speak." Jay looks at me in confusion. "What are you talking abou-?" I grab him behind the neck and kiss him. I snap out of it and come back to reality. What is going on?
BACK TO THE STORY !
" Are you okay? Do you want to come in now?" I say as I open the door wider so he can come in.
"Yeah, do you have any food? I'm starving." he walks to the kitchen.
" You have two hands use them. Help yourself. My parents are gone for the weekend. So I don't care."
I sit on the couch and open Netflix on the television to see what movies they had. Mean Girls for the win. That's my favorite movie. Cardo comes back from the kitchen with popcorn and sits two seats away from me.
"Mean Girls really?"
"It's the best movie."
So we sit there with the popcorn Cardo made and we watch the movie. After the movie we talk about his family and why he moved to Charlotte. He has a lot of siblings and a mom he adores. He was so dreamy and I was taking everything in. I start to yawn.
" It's getting late we should head to bed, I'll get blankets." I head upstairs to get blankets.
I walk down and see Cardo with his shirt off. He had a tattoo I guess he loves birds. I throw the blankets at him. I had to or I don't know what I was going to do because GIRL.
" Ouch, why did you throw them?"
"Your a man grow up!"
He's so cute.
" Well I'm going to go to bed feel free to use the couch or floor."
I start to walk away and he grabs my arm.
" Your not sleeping down here?" he looks at me as if he wants me to stay.
"Do you want me to stay?" I give him a seductive look but he's straight how would he know?
But he must know something because the tone of his voice changed.
"I just wanted to talk." he said with puppy eyes.
So I take his hands off of me and set up the blankets on the floor and sit by him.
" And my family accepts me but nothing dealing with my 'lifestyle'" I say as I eat a gummy worm.
" Man that sucks. I'm sure they will come around one day." he says as I yawn.
"Hopefully."
We talk and talk for hours and somehow my head ends up on his shoulder. He didn't say anything. Were we on the same page? Was this the start of something? All I know is I woke up to us cuddling. What was this..?
