"Do you expect me to believe that? I'm confused as to why you would even consider him not being deserving of being plundered!"

"He lost his family!" He said sharply.

I was surprised by this sudden empathy felt for evil lord Amasa. A silence fell upon the cell room as I pondered his statement. Taking a deep breath I said, "I am sorry he lost those he loved. But he is a cruel, hard-hearted, man who cares for no-one but himself."

To this Alexander said nothing. But only promptly turned his face away from me. "You don't know him like I know him." He stated briskly wiping his nose with his dingy shirt cuff.

"What are you talking about?" I said curiously.

"Its none of your buisness. But maybe he had a pa-...Nevermind."

"I can't believe you're leaving me on this cliffhanger!"

"Like I said, its none of your buisiness." he said apparently aggravated by my nagging.

"Fine! But its not like I can tell anyone. I'll probably die within the next few days." I said leaning against the wall in exhaustion.

"Not if I can help it!" He said regaining his strong personality.

"What do you mean?"

"I know this dungeon like the back of my hand. We can escape easily in the next twenty four hours!"

A new and smooth, deep voice was heard through the bars."Is that so?" In our excitement we hadn't notice one of the gaurds, holding a melting candle, who had just arrived at our cell.

We both appeared as startled deers looking at each other, then the gaurd. "Um, we.." Alexander tried to come up with an explanation but it was no use. We had blown our cover.

"I thought you'd try to escape li'l Alex. Hah! How about we just separate you two."

"No!" I cried out as the gaurd entered our cell and pinched his neck so he'd conk out. "Alex!" I exclaimed. As the gaurd dragged out Alexander he called back to me, "You won't be escaping anytime soon ye li'l weakling."

"UGH! I'm NOT a wimp!!" I called through the metal bars. The gaurd of course ignored me.

"There goes my escape." 'God help me! It feels as if you are just standing there ignoring me!'

As I leaned wearily against the cell wall my eyelids slowly closed as sleep fell upon me.
