Part 2 of the last KouEn x reader.

"Mommy, can we go visit Daddy?" Little 5 years old YuuKou asked me with her red doey eyes. I smiled at her and crouch down to her level. "Well, we need to ask Uncle Hakuryuu, right?" I said as she pouted. "But Uncle Hakuryuu is busy!" She whined.
"Then, we can't." I answered as she pouted even more. "Come on, YuuKou, you mustn't be selfish right now. Uncle Hakuryuu is the new emperor and is very busy managing the empire. And also, he told us that we shouldn't go near that place without his permission and we should obey." Said 14 years old Hakushi.
"But!" YuuKou tried to protest but didn't when she saw her older brother's stern stare, the one KouEn always wear. I giggled and ruffled her little red head. "If I see uncle Hakuryuu, maybe I'll ask him about it." I said, trying to cheer the little girl.
Her eyes lit up as she bounce up and down. "Really?!" She asked as I smiled and nodded. She cheered as Hakushi sighed but I knew he really wanted to give visit his stepfather. Even though I was smiling, the pain and sorrow was evident in my eyes.
That evening, as I was done tucking YuuKou in her bed. I came to the garden to get some fresh air. Looking at the starry night sky, I sighed. "Lady (Y/N)." A voice greeted.
"My Lord." I answered back as he chuckled bitterly. "May I join you?" He asked as I giggled. "Of course, my Lord." I answered without looking back at him but I knew he was standing besides me.
We stayed silent for a while. Until he broke it, "I'm sorry." I turned to look at him as he stare at me with a sorrowful and guilty look. I smiled at him as I reached my hand to his cheek and caress it with my thumb.
"Oh, Ryuu, you don't need to apologize." I said as he closed his eyes. "You're doing what you promised to do. And you did it." I said as he sighed. "But I also imprisoned your husband." And I smiled bitterly.
"Things just needed to be done, right?" I asked, feeling tears welling in my eyes. "(Y/N)-neesama." He muttered. "Right now, all you have to do is do what you have to do." I said as he look at the ground.
"Will the children hate me for this?" He asked. "YuuKou will not understand. Hakushi, however, understands the situation. But he cannot help but feel a bit of anger about all of this." I answered honestly as he sighed.
"I'm so sorry." He apologized again. "I already told you, Ryuu. You don't need to apologize. You're fulfilling the promise you made with Hakuren and Hakuyuu." I said as he bit his lips.
"Oh, Ryuu." I said as I brought him closer to me and hug him. He cried on my shoulder as I rub soothing circles on his back and whisper some words of comfort.
"I should get going, (Y/N)-neesama." He said after a while. I nodded. "Ah, yes. I probably need to go to bed also." I said and we both went in the palace. He walk me to my chambers. "Hakuryuu, I would like to ask your permission to let the children see KouEn." I said.
He didn't answer right away. "I will grant your request... But.." He trailed off and I waited patiently to what he was going to say. "That... Will be your last visit..... We already decided the date." He answered and my eyes widened.
"I-i see. When is it?" I asked as I gulp down the lump in my throat. "This coming Monday." He answered as he look at the ground. I bit my bottom lip, trying not to cry and let what he said sink in. When I finally progress what he had said, I took in a sharp inhale and nodded.
"I see. Well, I should get ready to sleep. And you should too." I said as he nodded. "Yes, I will. Goodnight, Lady (Y/N)." He said and I nodded. "Goodnight, my Lord." I said and close my door.
I sat down on my bed and that's when I cried.
The next morning
"Daddy, when will you come out and play with us?" YuuKou asked. KouEn smiled bitterly as he ruffled her hair. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. But daddy needs to do something here. So it might take a while for me to go out and play with you." KouEn answered and YuuKou pouted but nodded nonetheless.
I stayed silent, watching as YuuKou and Hakushi interact with their father. KouEn noticed I was silent and look at the children. "I'm sorry, but would you please give me and your mother some privacy? We need to talk about something." KouEn said.
Hakushi, knowing that the conversation is for the grown-ups, nodded and grabbed YuuKou out of the prison. I stayed there, looking at the dirty floor. "I know something is bugging you." He said.
I sighed and look at him with tears threatening to fall. "So, he told you when it will be, huh?" He said as he smiled bitterly. I then cried at the thought of him being beheaded.
I covered my face with my hands as I sobbed. "Come here." He whispered and I went near him slowly. I hugged him as I cried on his shoulder, he wrapped his arms around me as he whispered soothing words to me but that didn't help me stop crying at all.
"Shh, it's okay." He whispered as I continued to cry. KouEn kept silent as he let me cry on his shoulder. We didn't knew back then, that a certain emperor was listening to my broken cries.
TimeSkip!!
Tuesday.
At Sunset.
"Mommy, I can see the ship!" I smiled at her eagerness as I nodded. "I know, sweetheart. I can see it too." I answered as I felt my heart beat speed up as the ship drew nearer and nearer here at the island.
Flashback
At Sunday night
"Lady (Y/N), you and your children are going to Samon Island tomorrow at dawn and will be staying there." Hakuryuu declared, when we were alone outside. I look at him in question. "Why? KouEn's execution is tomorrow." I asked.
"Do you want your children to believe their father is going to die when he truly isn't?" That made me look at him with wide eyes. "W-what are you trying to imply here?" I asked.
He stayed silent for a while debating whether to tell me or not before he sighed. "He isn't going to die, (Y/N). I just needed to put on a show. I want him to live his life with you. So I exiled him to Samon Island along with Kouha and Koumei." He said and I felt tears escape my eyes.
Not from sadness or grief but of joy. I hugged Hakuryuu as he hugged me back. "I need to send you and the children first. They will follow at Tuesday." He said.
I let go of him as I smiled. "Thank you, Ryuu." I said as he smiled. "No, I should be the one thanking you, (Y/N)-neesama. This is my way of thanking you for all the things you have done for me. Even as I have chosen the path of depravity, you still stayed with me. Even as I have imprisoned your husband, you didn't loathe me for it and still continued to look after me as you always did. I'm forever thankful to you, (Y/N)-neesama." He said with a grateful smile.
I reached out and place my hand on his cheek to caress it. "I'm sure you will make a fine emperor, Hakuryuu." I said.
Flashback ended.
After that, we rode the boat at dawn. Not a single soul knew where we were going.
And then, here we are. Waiting by the docks. When the boat finally reached the docks. Kouha first came down, then Koumei, who assisted KouEn going down. With a big smile, my children dash off to their father and Uncles.
"UNCLE KOUHA! UNCLE KOUMEI! DADDY!" They both scream as they hug them. The three grinned. I came near them and hug them. When I went to hug KouEn, I noticed that three of his limbs were replaced with woods.
I smiled bitterly but I hugged him and kissed him nevertheless.
And now, the two of us watch Kouha and Koumei with our children playing at the beach. I smiled as I rest my head on KouEn's shoulder.
We never dreamed that we would end up here. We were once royalty but now exiled. But nonetheless, we are happy and contented with this life.
I'm happy as long as I'm with my family.
