Biana and Linh took Sophie upstairs to biana's room to give her a dress.
They dressed her up, applied new makeup, and did her hair better than her simple braids.
"When we're done Linh and I will go downstairs and you can come down anytime you want." Biana told Sophie as she applied fake eyelashes to Sophie's eyes as finishing touches to her makeup.
"Why can't we go downstairs together?" Sophie asked nervously.
"Don't worry about that. I'm almost done." Linh told Sophie with 3 bobby-pins in the left side of her mouth as she made her last improvements on Sophie's hair.
"Okay, I guess." Sophie agreed confusedly.
After 10 more minutes Linh and Biana were done.
"We'll be downstairs. Come down soon." Biana told Sophie as Linh walked out the door.
"Okay." Sophie said to her as she shut the door behind her.
Sophie put on her shoes and made sure her outfit was good before going to put on her jewelry. She delicately put keefe's earrings he picked out back on. She put on a bracelet and ring too. When she thought she was ready she opened the door.
The hallway lights were dim. She walked to the top of the stairs. When she looked down the spiraling stairs she saw the ballroom was dark.
Just as she was about to take her first step a spotlight went on. It was pointed right at Sophie.
She put her hand in front of her eyes to block out the blinding light.
She squinted down and saw the whole ballroom decorated in shades of red gold and light brown. It was beautiful. There was an ice statue of Sophie in the middle of the room. There were tall chocolate fountain structures on each side of the ice sculpture.
Sophie looked down to the bottom of the stairs to see Fitz, Linh, Biana, and tam standing there left to right smiling up at her. She smiled down at keefe standing in between Linh and Biana. He had his hands in his pockets and he was a bit slumped but looked cute with his relaxed posture. He was changed into one of Fitz's black suits with a ice blue bow tie. His hair was wavy and kind of curly and puffy with volume. A few curls had fallen in front of his eyes but it looked cute.
"Come down." Keefe mouthed up to Sophie with a wave of his fingers.
Sophie shook her head with a smile and started down the 60 steps slowly.
Classical music started playing softly.
Everyone stared in awe at her outfit, makeup, and jewelry.
Her outfit was maroon. The top was sleeveless and strapless, it wrapped around her shoulders with ruffles on the side of her arms. The ruffle circled around the top of the shirt. The shirt hugged her well formed chest and slim waist. It ended just below her belly button. Then she had a matching maroon tight skirt on that ended way above her knees. Over the skirt was a flowing piece. It wrapped around the whole skirt top and was dragging on the floor behind her lightly. The flowing piece was short in the front and showed off a bit of the underneath skirt and all of her legs. The flowing piece was white on the inside and shimmered silver. the outside was the same maroon as the skirt and shirt.
She was wearing white heels with maroon stones on them. Her hair was let down in a flow of blonde and natural brown highlights. All her hair was pushed to the right side. The hair tucked behind her left ear had some white and maroon fake flowers that looked very real in her hair. Her makeup was not too heavy but not very light either. She was wearing light maroon eyeshadow with some silver shimmer on top of the maroon that faded into the maroon. She had maroon lipstick on her thick plump lips. Her eyebrows were shaped and didn't need to be filled in. She had highlighter on her cheekbones, tip of her nose, the arches under her eyebrows, and a bit of the curve in the middle of her top lip. She had on fake eyelashes that weren't too long but fit good with the look.
Her jewelry wasn't very simple but not way too fancy. She had on keefe's earrings. They were long and shiny sapphire teardrops. The top of the stub of the earrings had a diamond on them. She had on a maroon stoned and diamond bracelet with a matching ring. Her neck was bare because she couldn't find the matching necklace.
Keefe stared at her in awe.
A few seconds later she reached the bottom of the stairs.
She walked to her friends and gave all of them hugs.
"Thank you." She hugged Biana tightly, her eyes slightly wet.
"Anything for you soph." Biana whispered with a smile.
Sophie's smiles at her appreciatively as someone wrapped their hands around her waist and pulled her back as all her friends went to get food.
"Excuse me," keefe tapped bare shoulder.
She turned around with a questioningly raise eyebrow.
"Yes?" She asked.
"I didn't get a hug." He pouted with his muscular arms crossed.
She smiled at him sweetly. "You're gonna to have to earn it." She puckered her lips at him.
He smirked dangerously as he pulled her into his arms. "Oh I can earn a hug and way more." He whispered as he put his hand on her waist and held her.
"Why don't we keep it to a minimum until later?" She said in a low voice to him as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I hope this counts as the minimum." Keefe asked with a smirk as he leant down and kissed her.
He pressed his lips against her gently. She sucked his luscious lips softly. They pulled away after a minute.
"Boop." She smiled as she pecked his lips.
Keefe chuckled as he held her right hand with his left and walked to their friends with her.
Later when everyone was eating desert.
"Where did Sophie go?" Biana asked the group.
They were sitting outside in the decorated garden. The crew was sitting at their own table.
"She said she was going to the bathroom." Tam told her.
"But it's been a while..." Biana looked around as she took a bite of her desert.
"Keefe isn't here either." Fitz noticed.
"Oh she's probably with him." Linh suggested.
"I should go look for her." Biana said as she started to stand up.
"No it's okay. I'll go get her." Linh told her as she stood up.
"Okay." Biana told her as she sat down. "Look upstairs maybe she's changing out of her uncomfortable shoes."
Linh nodded and walked away to find her friends.
20 minutes earlier
Sophie got up from her table with her friends and went to the bathroom. She walked through the house and opened two grand double doors to an empty hallway. She walked down the hallways like a model with her skirt flying behind her and her heels clacking against the white marble floors.
She turned the corner to see someone leaning against the wall in front of the bathrooms. He was facing away from her.
"Keefe?" She asked as she tapped the broad boys' shoulders. She recognized his curls.
He turned around.
"Sorry." He said before seeing her face as moved out of the way to the bathrooms.
He looked up to see Sophie.
"Oh hey." Keefe smiled.
"What're you doing here?" She asked him.
"Fixing my hair." Keefe flipped his hair as if he was in a shampoo commercial.
"I think it looks cute as it is." Sophie smiled at him. "But let me just..." she reached up and pulled a few blonde curls to fall into his eyes.
"Now it's perfect." She smiled as she slide her hand down his cheek and held his face gently as she kissed him.
He kissed her back softly. "When did you get so tall?" He asked her with a questioningly smile. "Usually you stand on your toes."
"I'm only an inch and a half shorter than you." She told him with a roll of her eyes as she pushed him back by his chest jokingly. She smiled as he grabbed her hand from when she touched him and pulled her closer.
He pulled her into his arms and held her closely by her waist.
She smiled as she clasped her hands to hold the back of his neck gently and leant her arms to rest on his chest on each side.
"I'm still taller." Keefe teased her as she leant her head to rest on his chest.
"I'm taller than you in heels." She said softly.
Keefe chuckled softly as he leant her chin up. She looked up into his eyes lovingly.
"I love you whether you're taller or shorter than me." He smiled.
Sophie smiled back. "Can I have a kiss?"
"Anything on your birthday baby." Keefe smiled at her sweetly.
He leant closer to her and pressed his lips against hers. She kissed back deeply. He pulled her closer until their chests touched. Their tongues fought for control until Sophie's won and she explored the minty taste of his mouth. They stumbled over each other's feet as they kissed. Keefe tripped and fell on his back on a red velvet couch behind them.
He fell on his back with Sophie on top of him. They pulled apart to take a deep breath before Sophie kissed him again. He flipped her to lay on the couch with him on top of her. He pulled away to peck at her neck and strapless shoulders before kissing her lips again.
"Sophie?" Someone's voice echoed down the hall.
Keefe and Sophie pulled away to see someone approach them.
"Oh!" The person exclaimed as they turned around laughing hard. "Sorry guys! Didn't know you guys were ditching your friends to make out." Linh cracked up.
Keefe stood up and helped Sophie off the couch.
"Ha ha." Keefe laughed sarcastically.
"Very funny Linh." Sophie raised her eyebrow as she walked to a mirror to check her makeup.
"Hey, just saying." Linh turned around to face them with a wide smile. "You were gone for like 30 minutes."
"Sorry. Lets go." Sophie told her as she turned from the mirror and walked to her friend.
"Coming?" Sophie asked keefe as she and Linh started to walk away.
Keefe was sitting slumped on the couch relaxing. "Be there in a minute."
"okay." Sophie told him as she turned around and started walking with Linh.
Linh stopped and turned around to look at keefe fixing his hair.
"Hey keefe?" Linh called.
"Ya linny ?" Keefe answered with her nickname.
"Love that lipstick! What shade is it?" She smirked at him.
Keefe looked at her confusedly. "I'm not wearing lip-" his eyes widened as he quickly got up to run to a mirror.
Linh and Sophie laughed so hard it hurt their stomachs as he slipped on he smooth floors. He quickly got up and ran to the mirror. He looked at his lips and he had Sophie's maroon lipstick smeared around his mouth and on his lips from when they were kissing.
"See you, sweetheart." Sophie blew him a kiss as Linh and her walked off.
Later around 4pm when all the guests had left.
"Hey soph?" Edaline tapped Sophie shoulder from behind her.
"Hey guys." Sophie turned around and smiled at them.
"I think we're gonna bounce. Eda can't walk for much longer." Grady gestured to Edaline stomach. She was now 8 months pregnant.
"Oh okay." Sophie said.
She hugged them both tightly.
"And sophie?" Edaline held her daughters' hands.
Sophie looked up at her.
"We're very proud of how much you've achieved and accomplished in just under 10 years here." Edaline smiled at her with tears in her eyes.
Sophie smiled back sadly. "Thank you."
"And thank you for staying with us crazies for so many years." Grady nodded his head at Edaline with a smile.
"Funny thing is that I'm crazier." Sophie laughed.
"Yes you are." Edaline smiled as she gave Sophie a kiss on the cheek.
Grady kissed her other cheek. "Happy birthday baby." He tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"We'll go home. You can stay here till whatever time you want." Edaline told her.
"Is it okay if I sleepover?" Sophie asked them.
"Of course." Grady smiled. "See you tomorrow sweets."
Later after everyone left the party it was around 4pm. The crew decided to give Sophie their presents now.
"I call going first!" Linh exclaimed. They were sitting at Everglen's dining table.
She pushed her gift to Sophie next to her. Sophie was sitting in between her and Keefe. Linh on her right and Keefe on her left. In front of her was Biana with Fitz in front of Linh and tam in front of Keefe.
"You guys didn't have to get me anything." Sophie sighed as she started unwrapping the box Linh gave her.
Sophie laughed at the chorus of groans from her friends.
"Just open the box." Linh waved Sophie off.
Sophie looked at the box and gasped. "Lisette jewelry?" She whispered.
Lisette was the absolute most expensive clothing, accessories, shoes, and jewelry store there was in the whole Lost Cities. A ring could cost a minimum of a million lusters.
"Only for the best." Linh smiled at her.
Sophie smiled at her and gave her a hug she opened a small box to see a bracelet in it.
It was a circular plant vine made out of emeralds and different shades of pink diamonds to make the flowers.
"It's beautiful." Sophie breathed.
She opened the other box. It was a matching ring. The vine was the circle part of the ring which was also made out of expensive emerald stones. There was a hot pink diamond stones flower on the top in the middle. It was a bit bigger than the slightly smaller baby pink diamond stones flowers beside it. One on each side.
"Thank you!" Sophie hugged Linh again.
In the end Sophie got a ring and bracelet from Linh. A matching necklace to the ring and bracelet from tam. About 10 expensive and beautiful ball gowns from Biana. New cognate rings from Fitz with an anklet.
"Finallyyyy!" Keefe exclaimed. He was slumped with his head leaning on Sophie's shoulder tiredly. "My turn."
He stood up and held his hand out for Sophie.
"Where are you going?" Biana asked him.
"I'm taking her outside. This is something special." He smiled at her sweetly.
"Save me." She whispered to them teasingly as she held his hand and stood up.
"Oh just come with me drama queen." Keefe rolled his eyes as he dragged her to the double doors out the dining room with him.
He held her hand as he led her upstairs. He opened biana's room doors for her and she walked through. He wrapped his hand around hers again as he led her to the French doors to biana's balcony outside her room.
"Close your eyes." He told her with an excited smile as he bounced with excitement.
Sophie threw him a strange look as she shut her eyes.
He held her waist gently and guided her out the doors. He closed the clear French doors and turned her to face the view of the balcony.
"Open." He told her.
She opened her eyes and gasped as she looked around. She had a whole view of everglens' sparkling woods. She could see the lake glittering in the sunset light a mile away. The trees were reflecting into the clear water. Sophie looked up and saw the sunset half covered by the trees. The sky went from red to yellow to light pink to lavender and then finally to baby blue all across the sky.
"It's beautiful." She breathed.
"Not as beautiful as you." Keefe smiled at her sweetly.
Sophie blushed as she leant over and gave him a soft kiss.
"I have something for you." He told her as they pulled away.
He pulled a black box out of his coat and gave it to Sophie.
Sophie opened it slowly. She sucked in a breath as she opened it.
"Keefe..." she whispered. "This was the most expensive piece at the downtown."
Keefe smiled softly. "Any amount of money spent on you is absolutely fine."
Sophie smiled at him sweetly before looking down at the necklace again. It was the matching necklace to the earrings he bought her that morning.
The necklace was small and a bit looser than a choker. It had a shiny, smooth, small sapphire heart in the middle. The rest of the necklace has smaller sapphire hearts pattered throughout it. The empty space where there were no hearts was filled with tiny diamonds.
"May I?" He reached for the box.
"Mhmm." She hummed and have him the box. He took out the necklace carefully and put the box in the inside pocket of his suit jacket.
He walked to stand behind her and let her lift her hair. He brung the necklace around her neck delicately. He clipped the hooks in the back and bring her her down how it was.
He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and turned her around. She had her hands clasped behind his neck and he was holding her very closely to him.
"It looks great on you." He told her sweetly as he leant down and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you." She blushed.
She turned in his arms to watch the sunset. Keefe had his arms wrapped around her lower waist as he stood behind her. He pulled her in to touch him with her back and abdomen. Keefe put his chin on Sophie's bare shoulder.
"Have I told you how pretty you look today?" He asked her softly before giving her a few soft kisses on her shoulder.
"I don't think so." Sophie smiled down at him on her shoulder teasingly.
"Well then," he moved to stand in front of her. "you are the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. By way far." He added with a soft smile as he tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. "And you look absolutely stunning."
He leant down and gave her a soft kiss. She kissed him back and held his face carefully as if he would break. As they kissed keefe guided her to the green grass garden. He brought her to sit down with him as they kissed softly.
Sophie pulled away to breathe. She sat in front of the sunset with her legs out in front of her. Keefe was laying on the grass next to her with his head in her lap.
"Have I told you how pretty you look?" Sophie smiled down at him.
"Mmh I don't believe so..." keefe smirked as he looked up at her.
"Then baby, you are the most handsome boy I've ever laid eyes on. By eternity far." She smiled sweetly at him. "And I love you and your adorable smile."
Then Sophie leant down and gave him an upside down kiss. Keefe leant his neck up from her lap to kiss her back.
He pulled away and they sat there, just relaxing together. He played with the ends of her hair.
"Can you do that thing with your nails?" Keefe asked her. "Where you like-" he showed her him dragging his fingers across his cheek.
"My acrylics?" She giggled. Keefe enjoyed it when she dragged her acrylic nails across his cheeks and ran her nails through his hair.
"Yup." He popped the p.
Sophie shook her head with a smile as she dragged her long nails across his cheek. He closed her eyes and smiled faintly as he leant his cheek into her hands. She then played with his curls and wrapped them around her finger.
"Hey soph?" Keefe said as he sat up to sit in front of her.
"Yeah?" She looked up at him in front of her.
He opened his mouth to say something. Then he shut his mouth and shook his head. He leant closer and wrapped his arms around her.
"Keefe!" Sophie giggled as Keefe pulled her to sit on his lap facing him.
"Shhh." He whispered as he glanced down at her lips.
"What?" Sophie whispered back with a smile.
"Watch...this." He whispered slowly as he looked back and forth from both her eyes.
He glanced down at her lips again. Then he seized her face gently and kissed her. He pressed his lips on hers softly. Sophie sucked in a breath. Then she kissed him back. She put a hand on his chest and one in his hair. They kissed deeply but softly.
Keefe pulled away still kissing her lips. "Happy birthday babe." He whispered her her ear before kissing her cheek.
