"Klaus~"
The man glanced up from his work, his eyes landing on the woman in the doorway. His lips parted instantly in a wide smile as he leaned back.
"Hello my beautiful wife." Klaus spoke as Rose chuckled.
She walked in slowly while he stood to meet her. "And hello little schatzi." Bending down he spoke to her protruding stomach. Gazing up at the woman he asked, "What can I do for my two favorite girls?"
Rose rolled her eyes, "You just swear the baby will be a girl!"
The man shrugged as he stood up, "I have an intuition about these things. I mean, I knew you were pregnant."
She let out a loud laugh that made his heart speed up.
"Maybe because you wouldn't stop-"
"Wouldn't stop what?" He teased.
Rose's face turned pink, "You know. Anyways, I'm hungry." She pouted as she finished.
"Why didn't you tell the cook?" Klaus laughed while wrapping his arms around her waist.
"I like your cooking better." She huffed.
He had to admit, he loved Rose's independent nature, but he also loved how dependent she's been on him at the same time.
He might have to keep her like this all the time.
The couple swayed as Klaus nestled his face in her neck. He felt at peace, there was a warmth that enveloped him so completely that he welcomed it. And just when he wished to himself that the moment would never end, he woke up.

Rose sighed to herself.
She could only paint so many sunsets before it got old. She set her brush down, gazing at the canvas and then the real thing before another sigh blew past her lips.
"Elias, what do you think?" She posed a question to her assigned bodyguard who had been watching from afar.
"It's beautiful, herrin!" He energetically responded.
Rose shook her head. She knew Klaus fed him lines to keep her happy. She figured it out two days ago when she drew the ugliest little stick figure and he said the exact same thing.
Due to her getting stir crazy in the house, Klaus allowed for the woman to go outside. Of course she had to be watched constantly and she had to stay on the premises but it was something.
Even though it annoyed her, she enjoyed her newfound freedom. It gave her an opportunity to think, even if she wasn't completely alone. Unbeknownst to Elias or Klaus the woman was making note of the layout of the house.
Rose was also close to memorizing the guards on which shifts. She would be patient, but she wasn't going to wait. Either Luciano would come find her, or she'd escape herself.
"Rose!"
Am I going crazy?
She paused. There was no way he could be here, and even if he was, she wouldn't even want him here.
"Rose?"
She took a breath, it wasn't him. It couldn't be.
Turning around Rose let out a choked sob. "Matteo?!"

Apollo flinched at the crashing sound.
"Luciano. . ." He tried to speak to the man in a warning tone but was ignored as a chair went flying in his direction.
"Shit! She's not here either." The man growled out as he forcefully kicked over a chair. Luc pushed back his hair with bloodied hands.
Apollo stepped over the fallen men on the floor to get to his friend. "I'm not saying to give up but. . ."
His voice faltered from the force of the glare that was leveled at him. Swallowing hard, the man forced himself to continue. "Maybe we shouldn't focus on striking back. We can't stay in hiding forever."
"None of that matters to me if Rose isn't safe." He knew his little brothers work well enough. Klaus was ruthless, cutthroat, who knows what he's done to her by now?
"Why don't you ask for help?" Apollo questioned.
"No. No. I can handle this on my own, I'll just take the fight to him." He growled. "I'll kill that bastard, I swear."

"I can't believe you're here!" Rose exclaimed in disbelief. After her initial shock she begged for Elias to let them speak in a room alone.
Once Klaus found out he was there, she most likely wouldn't see him without supervision.
"How are you? Are you hurt anywhere?" Matteo pressed but the woman only nodded. Even though he was the one sporting a black eye, he was asking about her.
"I'm fine. Have. . . have you heard from them?" She whispered the last part to the man.
Klaus was always listening in, always watching out. She knew how unstable he could be when Luciano was mentioned so she refrained from mentioning the other man around him, even if she worried about his condition.
"No, sorry fiore." He cast his eyes downwards, not meeting her curious gaze. "Say, have you ever tried, you know." She followed his line of sight to the window.
"I did. I asked, I tried, I had a complete breakdown, and while I haven't given up I'm not really sure what else to try."
"What if," Matteo spoke quietly, "You took over? Like how Klaus took Luciano's place."
The woman let out a breath, cracking a stressed smile. "Do I look like a mob boss to you?"
"No. But, I know someone who could help."

Hmm hm hmmm. Hm hm hmm. Hm hmm hmm-da da da doo ooo ahh~.
A light hum rang off the darkened walls. The sound continued echoing through the long passage right into the heart of the man making his way through them.
As much as his heart was hardened, he could always be unnerved going through the dark halls.
Still he went on, the haunting tune getting louder with each step. Pressing hard on the steel door in front of him, he forced it open leading him to a well lit room.
"H-m." The singing stopped as soon as the woman saw him. Her long, unkempt hair spread around her, crowning the woman an angel.
She turned on her side, stretching as she sat up get a look at the man. "Nero." She spoke his name with disdain.
"It's nice to see you again, little canary." He spoke with an amused tone as the woman rolled her eyes.
Being trapped in a cage for almost 20 years was more then enough to drive a normal person insane, but then again Alice Vinetti had never really been normal. What did drive her insane however, was the bird puns.
Yes she sung, yes she'd been trapped in a literal cage for years, did she want to hear it every time her ex-husband came by? No.
"What do you want Nero? Are you here to torture me?" She sighed, looking to the blank ceiling.
"I need help. It's my son." Nero's voice turned somber as he spoke.
"You mean our son? The one you tricked into hurting his own mother?" She replied sarcastically.
"My son seems to be in turmoil with the bastard, Klaus." He notes how quickly her demeanor changed when he said Klaus' name.
She immediately sat up, making her way to the bars. "What happened?"
"Klaus tried to overthrow Luciano. Luciano went on the run with a woman he's been enamored with but as it turns out, Klaus had his eyes on her as well."
Alice raised an eyebrow, "They're fighting over a woman? That's brotherly."
"Klaus is holding her hostage and Luciano is tearing through the Underground looking for her. I want you to fix this."
She laughed, "What? Their dead mother coming back is supposed to distract them? That seems rather reckless of you Nero."
"I have a scheme in mind." He shrugged. "I figured you would jump at the chance to see the world again."
Nero Vinetti turned around, making his way out of the room.
"Wait!" Alice's voice called out to him, stopping the man in his tracks. He turned to face her, as she asked a question.
"Nero, what are you playing at here?"
"I'm playing chess. I just thought it was time to use my queen." He grinned as a feeling of dread went through the woman.
She'd forgotten how dangerous the man in front of her was. That he'd sacrifice anything to get what he wanted, even his son. She sighed, "Fine."
