Riding is a sport, the reason I love riding is because it makes me feel like I have a partner that I can get along with. It gets rid of all my problems, so it's just me and my horse. I work hard riding. Jumping is my specialty. I always try my hardest, and if I mess up riding then oh well. I will try again next time. If I miss a jump then I try again. I am not one of those people who beat themselves up over one mistake, instead I just work more from it. Riding is like a therapy and it helps. Horses are a wild animal that is tame. But, that doesn't mean u can't get hurt. I used to get stepped on all the time by old horses that won't get off your foot. It hurts, I got stepped on by the same horse and spot. I know now to watch where I put my feet. I also fell of inky once, sliding over the other side of the saddle. I saw a girl getting bucked off her horse and after that I had to ride that horse. I was scared. My point is you have to take risks in riding, and in any sport. No one els but other equestrians understand me when I say that a horses hoof beats are music to my ears. Just being around a horse makes me smile. It changes my mood completely. Trail riding is fun too. As long as I ride I am happy. When I ride I feel like I belong. If I didn't ride I wouldn't be the person I am today. Horses make me me, that's what's so great about riding. I am home.
