then
"Destiny, what the hell were you thinking? You're not due down there for another few days." He looks over at where she was and she's vanished. He slams the breaks. "Destiny?! How the. . ." Realization hits him. "Doppelganger! Son of a BITCH!" Dean about faces the car immediately but he's too late. He arrives back at the airport just in time to see the plane for Miami take off.
Jumping back into the car, Dean speeds off back onto the main road while dialing Sam. No answer. "C'mon Sammy," he whispers to himself as he tries calling for a second time. It took a while but Sam answers the phone.
Sleepily, Sam answers, "H-hello?"
Relieved, Dean exclaims, "Sam!"
"Dean?"
"Yeah. Look. Pack our crap and get dressed."
Sam sits up, now a bit less groggy. "What? Why?"
Dean drives a bit faster. "I'll explain when I get there. Just move." He hangs up the phone.
Dropping the phone onto the bed, Sam gets up, only to hear crashing downstairs. Taking the demon-killing knife from under his pillow, he creeps downstairs to see two beefy looking men. One of them sniffs the air and his eyes turn black as he says some woman was here. Sam figured he meant Destiny. Gripping the blade tighter, he lets the two of them pass by the staircase before grabbing the last one from behind and stabbing him straight through the spinal cord while muffling his screams and dropping the body as orange lights flicker from the sockets of the body.
The second demon turns around with black eyes and a scowl of anger. "Where is she?!"
Sam, strafing on the other side of the demon, says in response, "Who? Destiny?
Upstairs sleeping and you ain't gettin' to her." The demon tackles Sam, knocking the blade out of his hand as it skitters to the front door. With ease, Sam slips from under the demon, however, it took the opportunity to ease up the stairs, gone in a flash.
"Hey!" Sam calls out to the demon while chasing it into Destiny's room. When they get there, she isn't in the bed as she would have been. Sam looks a bit puzzled but shakes it off as he grabs the demon and brings it into the hallway, tossing it over the railing.
As he lands, Dean bashes through the door in a rush because he heard all the yelling. He calls out to his brother before realizing that it's a demon on the ground in front of his face. Kicking the demon in the face to stun him, Dean swoops the knife up into his grip and stabs the demon in the neck. "Adios, bitch." He takes the blade out of the demon's neck and wipes it clean before tossing it to Sam as he catches it. They approach each other with concerned looks. "Sammy, I gotta tell you somethin'."
In synchronization, they say, "Destiny isn't here," and Sam continues talking.
"What, you think demons grabbed her? They came in here looking for her. I figured one snagged her while I was sleeping and these two were late for the party," Sam finishes while gesturing to the other demon's corpse by the base of the stairs.
Impressed by Sam's fighting, Dean makes a face that says "That's my boy," but he shakes it off and says in a serious tone, "I don't know when, but she left. Half an hour ago, I heard shuffling going around in her room and I didn't want to barge in, but it died down all of a sudden. I took it upon myself to scope things out and the window was wide open with her gone. I had no clue where she could've went. I drove around, maybe forty-five minutes or so, before it hit me she was trying to attack Ellie. Found her at the airport. . .but I was bringing the wrong one home."
Sam looked at Dean, confused at first but then realized and nodded as they said again in synchronization, "Doppelganger." Dean continues on, "Right. That's why we need to leave. Now."
* * *
After fifteen minutes the boys are ready, dressed and walk out the door as Dean is smirking as Sam looks at him confused. "Uh, Dean?"
He looks at Sam in a way to show he's proud of himself. "Ya like it? Got it from one of Ellie's little safe houses."
"Where's the Camaro? All our stuff—"
"—is in that car now. Happy," Dean finishes as he gets into the driver's seat and starts the engine and Sam gets in as well. "Whoo! Hear that engine, Sammy?!" He pulls off while they both share a laugh.
now
Dean drives the car along the road as Sam looks out the window. Dean slows his acceleration and taps his brother. "Sammy. Ya see that?" Dean cocks his head forward to the car wreck in front of them. He catches eye of Destiny approaching the car. "Here we go," he says as he nudges Sam and they get out the car. Destiny stops in her tracks.
Destiny hears a car approaching in the distance and rests Yamato at her side and returns her gaze to Scarlet. "We will finish this later." The car slows down and Destiny gasps. "That. . .that's Ellie's car! '67 Chevy Impala!" She begins to speed walk towards the car clutching the blade tightly. She is immediately halted as she discovers who walks out of the car.
Destiny and Dean approach each other and simultaneously say, "What the hell are you doing here," followed by another synchronized response, "I should be asking you that." Destiny sighs in frustration as Dean continues to speak.
"Destiny you're not ready. Why are you down here? And don't give me that 'I wanna get it over with already' crap."
Struggling to find her words, Scarlet approaches the two and steps between them at Dean's height. "Yeah, and what's it to you, jackass?" Dean throws on a smug smile and is about to speak when a loud croaking sound emerges from the woods nearby, making all of their heads turn that way. "Know what, hold that thought." Scarlet steps to the woods, drawing the Red Queen.
Dean, drawing his pistol says, "What the hell was that?" He drops the gun down to his side and looks up at the three tall creatures. One of them has a long vertical scar on its torso and multiple bullet wounds on its side. Dean shouts,
"Get in the car!" They all sprint to the Impala and Dean pulls off, burning rubber while at it. Panting for air now, Dean demands, "So someone gonna answer my question?"
Scarlet rolls down the back window before handing Destiny the Lady Black. "Shut up and drive." Destiny and Scarlet are leaning out of windows on their sides shooting at the towering creatures chasing them down. One of them drops dead, shaking the ground so hard, the car jumps up a little bit and causes it to swerve on the landing a little. The croaking noise the creatures cause grow louder and more aggressive and they seem to pick up speed in their chase; one source of the noise ceases as another one of them tumbles down to the ground, grazing the trunk of the car with its head, giving the ride to bounce forward.
Dean, grunting on the landing with the pedal to the metal, shouts, "Can you be a bit more reckless?" He peeks in his rear-view mirror and notices the way the creatures are set up. "Guys, get back in the car and hang on." They do as said asking why. "Just watch." Dean slams on the brakes, watching, as the last creature goes flying ahead. When Dean halted the car, it was a perfect fit between the creature's legs so they easily slipped on by. Playing with the control panel, soon enough, mini-guns emerged from the side of the hood creating a whirring sound. As the guns spin up, Dean shouts, "Say hello to my little friend!" Within seconds, a fury of bullets are spat out of the guns and in a blink of an eye, they disintegrate the creature standing tall at least ten yards away.
The whir of the guns cease as they retract back into the car. Still in shock, Alisa sits in the middle of the back in cowering fear. She moves the hands from her head with a radiant smile. "Is. . .is it over?"
Sam nods and responds, "It's over." He sits back in his seat and lets out a sigh as Dean pulls off. "It's over." Directing his attention to the one he's speaking to, Sam continues. "Destiny, I don't want to pester you with this, but you—"
She cuts him off, "Are not ready, I get that."
"That too. Let me finish." She rolls her eyes. "You will be absolutely powerless in that building. It's warded off from all angels, demons, Nephilim, you name it. All except Ellie's chamber which is 100% inaccessible by any other persons but herself."
"So what, grab her by the hair and drag her to the room to crack it open?"
"You really think that's gonna work?" Destiny sits in silence as a response.
"Exactly. I'm sure The Overseer gave you all the details as of what to do. Hope you're ready."
Scarlet perks up in her seat. "Speaking of. Haven't heard from the old man in a while." She reaches for her ear when she discovers the comm is missing. "What? Where did it go? Did it fal—," she sucks her teeth, "Damn!"
"What's the problem back there," Dean calls out, keeping his eyes busy on the road.
"When that radioactive centaur smacked me," Scarlet responds while her demon hand clenches over her gut, "it must have sent my comm flying out my ear. Guy must be worried sick. Or something." Scarlet tried to use her attitude to cover the sadness in her voice.
meanwhile
The room is darkened with computer screens cracked and busted open. The spark creates a flash every now and again. Two silhouettes are barely visible. One if a woman with a sword. Another of a man crippled on the ground, hacking up blood. He holds out his hands for mercy, but the woman is ruthless. She stabs him in the gut. As she walks out, the screens flash, showing her white hair turning red and her red leather jacket turning grey.
