Joe's POV 2022:
It feels weird this.
I'm currently sat on my own side of our bed, watching my redheaded hurricane, whirl around our bedroom as she gets ready for her first solo night out in a long time- Coronavirus really did stop the world for nearly two years! She really has no idea how effortlessly beautiful she is, as she frets and fusses over her outfit choice, hairstyle and her makeup, "JOSEPH?! Are you even LISTENING! Urgh, this is the only time that your daydreaming drives me wacko!" She huffs, ruffling my hair as she flies past, "I said, do you know where the Zoella palette has gone, I need to finish my eye shadow and I can't pick between the green dress, the black playsuit or the dotty playsuit. Which is your favourite, love?" I can't help but chuckle as she flops on the bed beside me, her icy hands creeping under my shirt and her head resting on my chest. "Jesus DOT! Your hands are FREEZING, fuck me, lets warm them up before you do anything else! Come 'ere me lover. Also...the eyeshadow is in my office, don't ask why." She says nothing, choosing to lift her head, raise an eyebrow and kiss my nose before disappearing once again; more than likely to retrieve the missing makeup.
That's one of my favourite things about my girlfriend- she never judges. Even when I tell her that I have stolen her makeup. Even from the earliest days, as my teacher, Dianne had the patience of a saint with my two left feet and noodle-like-limbs; she never judged my lack of talent, my stupid humour or my nervous farting. God looking back at some of our training sessions...
*Flashback*
"Joeeee! No, it's like this, watch me. 1,2,3, left, right, arm up." She giggles, ignoring my previous attempt at the choreography and demonstrating once again, this time slowing it down again. "Di, I CAN'T do it!" I sigh dramatically, flopping to the floor and farting...loudly. I CANNOT believe I have just done that...in front of my dance partner, my FEMALE dance partner, my very attractive female dance partner.
The silence is deafening for what feels like forever- until she bursts into laughter, doubling over and sliding down beside me, burying her head into my shoulder. "JOSEPH!!! 9/10 for that one I can't BREATHE! If my choreo is shit, you just had to say!" she roars, wiping the stray tears from her face, the giggles subsiding a little as she desperately tries to catch her breath. Seeing her like this, instantly makes me relax, reaching to put my arm around her as we laugh and pulling her into my chest- it just feels so natural and so...right.
But I can't think like that. I'm just being a typical guy- fit dancer, of course I think i'm falling for her but she could never feel anything for me...could she?
"Earth to Joseph? Where have I lost you to this time, you are smiling like a weirdo." Waving her hand across my face and bringing me back to reality as she moves off me and wiggles into her chosen outfit. "Oh, sorry love, I was thinking back to our strictly days, just got lost in thought. What were you saying, what time do you need to leave?" I mutter, attempting to redeem myself as I have no idea how long I wasn't listening for...whoopsies, bad boyfriend.
Not minding too much, she just grins and continues her conversation...she really is the one.
Dianne's POV:
"I was saying, what are you plans for tonight? I won't stay out too late because i'm already tired but if you want the night to yourself, I can stay with Ames or Nancy? I wasn't sure if you were planning a boys night so I asked them anyway," I say, tugging at the dotty playsuit I've chosen and brushing it down, "Do I look okay?" I whisper, twisting and turning in front of the mirror, running my hands up the front and smoothing the fabric over my abdomen. Lost in my own appearance, I hadn't noticed that Joseph had appeared behind me until his gentle hands replaced mines, tracing gentle circles on my tummy and pressing a kiss to my neck. " You look beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. I'm a lucky man Miss Buswell. No, I haven't got any plans tonight, i'm just going to film my Ad for dominoes, eat some pizza and probably fall asleep on the sofa but if you want to stay with the girls, go for it! I'll survive without you for one night if you need a girlie night, you deserve a break- after all, you haven't spent the last two years lockdown with me!" It is amazing how his soft touch and a few kind words make me melt against him and raise the butterflies in my stomach again, "Are you sure? I feel...I don't know, like I don't look good enough, are you SURE it looks okay? It's not too tight or anything? " I fret, poking and pushing at my stomach as his hands wrestle mines, spinning me round so im pressed against his chest and shuffling us both back to the edge of our bed.
"Dotty, you look absolutely stunning, as always. I might be a little bit biased because I think you could wear a bin bag and still look beautiful but I promise you, you look perfect. Now, the car will be here in five minutes, grab those black boots and lets get your cute ass down the stairs and ready to have a smashing girls night. Come on me lover, give me this hand, grab your bag and lets move." He says, tugging me to my feet and downstairs, his hand never leaving mines. With my shoes on, he does a little photoshoot at the bottom of the stairs, gives me another cuddle and a quick kiss before nudging me out the door and into the waiting taxi. As we sail through the streets of London, I get a text: "By the way, I love you. Have a good night x" - God I love Joe Sugg.
Turns out, he was right...as always; a night with the girls was exactly what I needed! Dancing, laughing and a few too many drinks with some of the best people. Noticing Amy slip off the dance floor, I excuse myself and follow her to a booth in the corner, "You alright Ames, God this is so fun! This could be our last night with you as Miss Dowden oh my god that's insane!" I yell, trying to be heard over the crowd and music. "I'm fine Di, just getting tired now, I can't do the nights out like I used to! You good? I know! I'm getting married how crazy is that?! How's Joe, speaking of relationships then? Any wedding bells for you two?" She winks, elbowing my side as she speaks. "We've talked about it, marriage, kids and the future but nothing anytime soon, we are going to take every day as it comes! Saying that, he was amazing tonight when I was stressing, I really love him Ames...I really think he is the one." Being slightly tipsy now, the words continue flowing as the two of us share the more intimate details of our relationships, the ups and downs until we decide to call it a night, saying goodbye to the others and heading our separate ways into the London night.
Not realising how much I had drank, the walk into our apartment back more difficult than anticipated and who in the right MIND put a house plant outside our front door? Oh it is pretty though...maybe Joe and I should have more house plants? Alera, stan, ferguson are lonely maybe? Oh yeah, walk through the front door Di...ahhh home sweet home. As I make my way into the kitchen, my heart completely melts...the first thing I see is Joe, fast asleep on the sofa, cuddling Americano and wrapped in our fuzzy blanket. The next thing I see is an open dominoes pizza box, surrounded with flower petals and a glass of water; as I approach, I lift the note attached and it makes me tear up...
"Lady Dot,
you will always have a pizza my heart, so I saved my crusts for you when you get in.
I love you always, your Joseph."
Munching happily on my crusts, drinking some of the water and taking my boots off, I want nothing more than to cuddle up with my boyfriend so I make my way over to the sofa and slip into his arms, cocooning us both in the blankets and shimmying as close to his chest as possible.
"You really are the one Joseph, you really are."
Hey guys! It's been a hot minute since I updated any of my books and the truth is- I've been seriously struggling with my writing so I decided to stop. I probably won't be updating frequently as I'm in the middle of a masters degree and trying to balance my job 😂 glad for your support as always, stay safe!
