CJ waited for about two hours for the C.R.A.S.H. team in Las Brujas. The sun had now set, and night had fallen above the desert. CJ was wondering where the police officers were and why it was taking them so long. Just as he attempted to leave, an LSPD convoy car finally arrived. Pulaski stepped out first in front of CJ as Hernandez pulled a gun at him, and Tenpenny strolled to the trunk searching for something.
"Carl!" Pulaski said shutting the door behind him. "Hope we didn't keep you waiting, holmes!"
"Nah, I was just chillin'," CJ replied.
"Ha, I bet you were," Pulaski said. "That the dossier? Hand it over."
"Hey, everything cool now?" CJ asked as he handed Pulaski the dossier.
"I don't know, Carl," Tenpenny replied, pulling a shovel out of the trunk. "Eddie?"
"Our boy's done good!" Pulaski announced.
All of a sudden, Tenpenny swung the shovel towards the unscrupulous Hernandez and knocked him out cold. Hernandez lay unconscious on the ground.
"YOU SNITCH PIECE OF SHIT!" Tenpenny shouted at the unconscious officer. "YOU VATO ASSHOLE! YOU SOLD US OUT!"
He gave him another smack across the face with the shovel, bruising his eye in the process.
CJ just watched in shock. Looks like Tenpenny and Pulaski found out about Hernandez's scheme, he thought.
Tenpenny walked over to CJ. "Time to dig, Carl," he told CJ, handing him the shovel. He then turned to Pulaski "You, take care of things," he told his partner, and he turned to leave.
"Whuh - where you going?" Pulaski asked, bewildered.
"To get drunk and get laid," Tenpenny responded sternly. "You got a problem with that?"
"No, Frank," Pulaski replied, sounding slightly intimidated. "Relax."
"Good," Tenpenny said, hopping inside the LSPD police car. "I'll see you back at the precinct." He then turned to CJ after sitting in the car. "And I'll see YOU in your next life, Carl," he told CJ as he started the engine, and sped away.
With Tenpenny now gone, Pulaski was around supervising CJ. The latter was being held at gunpoint by the officer while digging a grave for himself and the unconscious Hernandez. It had been hours since CJ had started digging. His arms were beginning to ache, and he managed to make the hole four feet deep. CJ stared at his watch. It was now 11:54 PM.
"All right, that's good," Pulaski told CJ. "That's deep enough for two."
CJ had to convince Pulaski that Tenpenny was only using him as his lapdog. Considering that Tenpenny was willing to leave Pulaski on his own to take care of CJ, there was no way he would keep Pulaski by his side once he outlived his usefulness to him.
"Eddie," CJ tried to convince as he slowly climbed out of the hole. "Tenpenny's just using you, he's using all of us." He finally climbed out to face the cop. "You're the next one he's gonna silence, man... "
"Shut the fuck up, scum!" Pulaski snapped, pointing the pistol at CJ's face. "And it's Officer Pulaski to you! You think we ain't caught up on your little scheme, you stupid nigger?!"
"Oh you gonna throw the 'N' word at me now?" CJ replied.
"I waited a long time for this shit!" Pulaski said. "And now you're gonna join your mom and little brother! Fucking die!"
All of a sudden, Hernandez, who just regained consciousness, lunged at Pulaski, and right when Pulaski pulled the trigger on CJ, Hernandez jumped in front of the gun just in time and took a bullet to the stomach, falling down into the hole in the process. CJ and Pulaski watched as Hernandez lay down the hole coughing blood.
"Well, it looks like you're next, CJ!" Pulaski announced, and he pointed the gun at CJ. "You'll join this greaseball cocksucking traitor as well."
CJ didn't move one bit. He was ready to take the bullet, and he wanted to show the dirty cop what a coward he truly was. So he expected Pulaski to pull the trigger on him.
But when Pulaski finally pulled the trigger, all that was heard was a click. Pulaski's pistol was now empty. He had used his last bullet on Hernandez, and he was now defenseless against CJ.
"What, we playing Russian Roulette now or something?" CJ asked casually.
"Ah shit!" Pulaski grunted. He dropped his pistol and darted away. CJ chased after him.
"Why you running, Eddie?!" CJ called. "Why you running?!"
Pulaski didn't turn back. He ran straight towards a white Buffalo parked just ahead and sped away. CJ spotted an SMG on the ground next to a parked Bandito nearby. So he picked up the weapon and fired at Pulaski. When the latter continued to drive away, CJ hopped into the Bandito and drove after Pulaski, who was riding away on the dirt road.
"Hey Eddie!" CJ called to the cop. "You know that Tenpenny gonna rub you out too!"
"Carl, you got it all wrong pal!" Pulaski told him as he made a hairpin turn down the dirt mountain. "Tenpenny was the one saving your ass! Every time I'd want to get rid of you, he'd find some excuse to keep you alive. Well, now it's up to me, and I ain't such a fucking soft touch. Well, how's your sister? I always had a thing for her. Tenpenny and I got some great shots of her and her Varrio boyfriend going at it like a couple of horny Chihuahuas. Man, does she put out like a pro!"
The sheer mention of his sister really made CJ mad. "Screw you Pulaski!" he shouted as he chased Pulaski down the bottom of the mountain. "I know what you're trying to do, and you ain't gonna crawl inside my head!"
"I ain't kidding!" Pulaski shouted. "It's the best stake-out I ever done! Carl, you should have seen your mom before she was buried. She was a real mess - most of her face was hanging off!"
CJ became even angrier. "Don't fucking talk about my moms!" he snapped.
"The boys, you know, they fooled around with her at the scene," Pulaski continued, "you know... touching her, joking around and shit."
"Fuck you, Pulaski," CJ shouted in fury. "FUCK YOU!"
Pulaski just chuckled malevolently. CJ continued dashing after Pulaski around the desert and rammed his car several times until he crashed it to the side. The Buffalo came to a stop, and Pulaski hopped out of the vehicle. CJ stayed inside his vehicle and fired his SMG at the dirty cop, who was struck with bullets from the weapon. Pulaski then fell to the ground and lay limp against his white Buffalo, coughing up blood.
CJ casually walked over to the dying cop. "Not feeling so fucking full of yourself now, huh?" CJ gloated.
Pulaski coughed painfully. "Well, them's the breaks ... fuck..." he muttered incoherently.
"Any last requests?" CJ asked.
"Yeah," Pulaski answered with another cough. "Can I fuck your sister?"
"You an asshole to the end," CJ told him. "Punk motherfucker!"
CJ then raised his foot high and stomped on Pulaski's head with all his might. He watched as Pulaski's face started gushing out blood. He lay limp onto the ground. Dead. Officer Pulaski was now dead. CJ let out a sigh of relief. He had finally killed the corrupt cop's lapdog.
CJ looked around to find any witnesses. There was no one around to witness the damage. So CJ hopped inside the white Buffalo and drove away, leaving Pulaski's bloody corpse on the ground.
It was a dark purple shade of blue in the nocturnal sky, and there were almost no cars around. CJ drove all the way back to Las Brujas. He made it to the hole and hopped out of the vehicle. When he saw a bloody Hernandez struggling to catch his breath.
CJ hopped inside the hole and knelt by Hernandez's side. "Yo thanks for saving my life, Hernandez," CJ told him. "I owe you, man."
"You don't owe me anything, CJ," Hernandez muttered, coughing up some blood between his words. "You... really didn't... deserve... any of the shit t-t-those t-two officers... did to ya. I wanted to be by your side... to expose them for the... t-true... criminals... they are. They mur...mur... murrrr..."
"'Mur' what, Hernandez?" CJ asked. "What they do?"
"They... murdered Pendelbury," Hernandez replied coughing between his words. The blood inundated inside his mouth as he spoke.
"Oh, I know all about that," CJ told him.
"Hey, CJ," Hernandez choked out, barely coherent at speaking. "Make sure T-T-Tenpenny gets his. Justice will be served."
Those were his last words before he finally choked on his own blood and slowly passed on. CJ watched as the former officer breathed rapidly and finally closed his eyes. Jimmy Hernandez was now also dead.
It was now all silent in the desert. The wind blew softly. CJ stared at his corpse in despondence as he regretted the time he maligned him on the phone after he returned to Los Santos just months ago. Hernandez wasn't a bad cop like Tenpenny and Pulaski. He was just another victim of the cops' dirty game. He had just one more eulogy to give to Hernandez before he left.
"Sorry for what I said, Officer Hernandez," CJ whispered to the officer's corpse. "You were a good cop who really wanted to stop the violence in my city. Wish I could've helped you out."
It remained silent outside. CJ was now all alone. The moon hovered over up into the sky. The mountains towered over him around the desert.
Things had really gotten out of hand, and it was time for CJ to fix everything that was broken. So CJ hopped back inside the white Buffalo, started the engine, and drove off on his way back to Las Venturas.
