(Y/N) POV
"I'm the one choosing the game huh? I can make up games can't I? But Sakura said I'm supposed to be nice to girls... then it won't work" Tsukasa mumbles game ideas to himself.
I take a look at my phone for the time. It is rude to be on your phone while talking to someone (if you can consider his incoherent mumbles a conversation) so I check quickly. I need to be home in another half an hour to do chores. Then I'd need to leave in ten minutes? But I just agreed to playing with him. Oh dear, that's not enough time. But I really do want to play. Wait, I don't even know his name.
"My name is (Y/N). What's yours?" I ask. UGH I sound like a kid! I look up at the ghost boy again. It's hard to tell because he's floating, but he's probably a couple of inches taller than me. His outfit is definitely odd. It looks like something you'd use for dress up. I giggle.
"Eh? I'm Tsukasa! Just Tsukasa." he gave me a large smile, showing his fangs. "By the way," he goes on, "you don't seem very surprised to see me floating."
"I've been able to see apparitions for... a very long time" I say with a warm smile. Tsukasa floats closer to me. "That's a good thing then!" he sings.
I decide not to comment. He doesn't know what I went through because of it. "By the way," I say cautiously, "is it possible for me to come and play tomorrow? Um... you see, I need to go home soon to do chores and look after my brother." Tsukasa blinks at me.
"It's not that I don't feel awful for hurting your feelings. Believe me, I feel horrible. But it's gotten late. And I need to go. I promise however that I will come tomorrow." My ramble continued for a bit.
By now, Tsukasa was right in front of me. He's in my personal space bubble. His hands clutch onto mine. His honey eyes peer deeply into mine. "You promise to come back tomorrow?" he says, seriously.
I stand shocked at our close distance for a short time. "Yes," I reply. "If you want proof," I say, taking out my voice recorder from my pocket, "you can keep this until I return. That way, you can be sure that I'll come back."
"A voice recorder?" he says, taking it from me and examining it closely. "Yes, it's important for my investigation work. Be careful with it-- its content is top secret. If-- WHOA TAKE IT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!"
He looks over at me, he slowly takes it out of his mouth. "I wasn't planning to eat it silly! I just wanted to know what it would taste like." he says this all too innocently. I realise he may not be too sane.
My expression must have seemed doubtful, because he goes on, "it doesn't taste good anyway."
"Would you have eaten it if it did taste good?" I ask. I must admit, I was severely curious. What type of person was this ghost?
"Nope! Because you said it's important and I don't want to make you sad!" he offers me a satisfied smile, like he just said something worthy of praise.
A voice behind me says "That's right. Girls must be treated with kindness." I had nearly forgotten about the green haired girl sitting next to directions guy. What was his name again? He said it not too long ago too...
Does Tsukasa usually get praised for being nice? He's like a puppy. I grin at the thought. I pat his head... well his hat. I do this to my brother whenever he does something good too. It's odd how comfortable I've gotten to this boy I just met today.
"By the way," I say, turning around to the pretty, green haired girl, "what might your name be?". It somehow felt right to talk to her with fancy wording. "Nanamine Sakura" her reply is curt, but her face has a small smile. "Nice to meet you Nanamine-senpai. Uhm... I'm (Y/N)" I return her small smile. She nods and turns back to her book. It was a short yet... pleasant conversation. Directions guy gave me a smile and wink, which would make most girls melt. Luckily, it has no effect on me as I'm the type of girl to freeze up, not melt.
Suddenly remembering the time, I look back at a distracted Tsukasa, who was still playing around with the voice recorder, and I say "I should get going now. I'll be back tomorrow to play".
"Okay!" he says happy. I walk to the exit turning around to apologize once more for my earlier accusations.
I leave feeling an eerie calm.
The next day
(Y/N) POV
It was lunch and I was spending it with Yashiro-senpai in the garden again. We talked about the school's supernaturals. I was about to talk about Tsukasa when she started talking about the Mokke. "By the way," she starts, "if you hear anyone talking about the Mokke or anything, would you mind telling them a new rumor?"
I nod. "Just tell them that if they keep candy on them, they won't lose their things" I nod again. I didn't get the chance to ask anything more, as the bell rang, signalling the end of lunch.
We say our goodbyes. However, I wasn't paying much attention to that. Instead, I was thinking about something else as I mindlessly walked back to class.
I was too distracted yesterday from Tsukasa to have thought about it. I never told Yashiro-senpai anything yesterday about rumors being able to change the actions of supernaturals, so who told Yashiro-senpai? It was most likely the same person who saved her yesterday, since in order to have saved her, they must know the bare minimum about apparitions. She was acting suspicious yesterday.
I should investigate that. I also need to investigate the real person who spread the rumors about the Mokke. This will leave me no time to investigate this Hanako ghost. Oh well.
I was now sitting in my class, paying minimal attention to my teacher. There was only 3 hours until I see Tsukasa again.
