A bit after Age of Ultron
(Bucky hasn't escaped Hydra yet)
She couldn't take it anymore. The endless screaming. The pain. Seeing his eyes glaze over one more time before he could barely remember his name.
Anna raced up the stairs to her room at the Hydra base camp. She still had had 5 minutes till the wiping she had enough time.
She ran into the small bathroom and locked the door and turned on the shower to cover the bugs and pulled out your phone.
"Anna, what's going on?" A deep voice called from the other side.
"I can't take it anymore Nick, I need to get him out."
"Anna you have to wait a couple more days we're not ready."
"Fine. How's everyone?"
"They hate to admit it but they all desperately need you especially Tony. Sam has been trying for the last couple of months but they all agree they need their therapist back."
"Good so a couple of days?"
"You got it."
"Great. Shit, I gotta go."
"Good luck Camron be careful."
"Thanks, Nick."
Anna raced back down the stairs and grabbed her coat on the way as well as her ID badge.
Elsa Alianova, WS Mechanic + Electrocutioner + Caregiver
She couldn't wait to be rid of that badge and stop saying "Hail Hydra" every time she passed someone.
"Finally Ms. Alianova The Soldier's been waiting."
"Yes, I'm sorry sir."
She walked over to him in the chair. The wiping equipment all around him.
He was sleeping but his eyes opened slightly when she came over.
Kneeling beside him she started working on his arm
"We will leave you too it. Hail Hydra."
"Hail Hydra" She repeated back to him.
He heard her. And opened his eyes for a second before the tiredness took over once again. The mission was too much the blood, the gore. He knew where he was but not where he was going.
She bent down to his arm the one that killed. It malfunctioned and needed to be fixed. Her fingers brushing past his collar bone onto his arm.
She had such beautiful hands. He loved how she was so gentle around him. She stopped hurting his head. She stopped wiping him and now only produced a small shock into his brain. Even though it still hurt like hell she made him feel safe. She was helping him.
"Hey," She said her voice calming him.
"Hi." He replied.
His voice was raspy. She could see how tired he was.
Only a couple more days. She thought, then he'll be safe.
"Oh and Happy Birthday Elsa." Hydra Agent said before him and the rest of the guards left her alone with James.
Anna glanced down at her badge she hadn't realized today was Elsa's birthday. She couldn't wait to celebrate her real one in a couple of months but this would have to due for now.
"Thanks."
She looked back at Bucky. His breathing was unpatterned. It seemed each one hurt him.
"It's...It's your birthday." He breathed. His ocean eyes opening to glance at her for a brief second before closing again.
"Yeah," she said continuing to fix his arm.
She then stood up getting ready to prepare the machine to fry his brain.
"How...How does the song go again?" He mumbled. furrowing his brow trying to remember.
Anna started to sing the song.
"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you."
He hummed along to it with his eyes still closed as she prepped the machine.
"I think you are going to need another haircut soon."
"After can I go to sleep? I'm tired" He said quietly his voiced strained.
"I know, but I need you to be brave and stay with me for a little longer."
"Mhm, I've been trying doll it hurts."
Her heart stopped. They were going to notice soon he was using his old mannerisms. It was only a matter of time before he remembered other things, Steve, the war. Anna remembered Steve telling her how close they were before the ice during one of their sessions. He missed him.
She took the mouth guard off of the table. Kneeling in front of him and placed her thumb on his chin trying to open his mouth to put the guard in place. He obeyed not looking straight into her eyes. Anna smiled at him shyly staring into his baby blues. They looked angry, hurt.
Turning back to the machine she placed the case around his head. He moaned as the chair reclined putting him into position.
"I need you to scream just like we've been doing lately okay?"
He grunted a reply from behind the mouth guard.
Anna took a deep breath before pushing on the buttons and gripping the lever. Sending the shock to his brain.
He screamed the sound ripping through her ears. It hit her every time even though she knew not all of it was real.
By the time it was done he was sweating and his chest pumping up and down rapidly. Even if he was unconscious she could see all of the pain in his face.
The guards came back in to take him away.
"You may leave Ms. Alianova."
"Yes thank you, sir, Hail Hydra."
"Hail Hydra." They all replied in unison.
Anna went to leave but turned around for a second to get a last look at Bucky. He was panting his eyes now open.
Through his quivering breaths, he muttered a small sentence stopping her dead in her tracks making her heart stop.
"...the end of the line.."
