It was 8 by the time we finished eating.
Well at least for me.
He had received a call during our meal.
"I'll be back" he said as he took the call.
I nodded, and I didn't feel like finishing my food so I pushed it aside and took a sip of water.
The bill came and after his call he paid then we left the building.
"Charlotte, work just called and I have to be there" Eleazar says.
I have to be back in that house... I think I paled.
"Charlotte if you don't like to be alone you can come with me" he said.
"Yes." I said and we made it to his work place.
The place was really tall.
Like a skyscraper.
I admired the entrance it had like a waterfall and one of those big electronic boxes that advertises.
The automatic doors slid open.
"Can you wait here?" he asks.
"Okay" I said and I sat in the lobby.
Eleazar had taken the elevator and was accompanied by another person.
I took a seat next to the aquarium.
"Miss are you waiting for someone?" the front desk lady asks.
"Yes" I replied.
The building was pretty busy even though it was like pass office hours.
"Would you like a drink?" the lady asks getting out from behind the desk.
"No thank you" I smiled at her.
"Alright" she said.
"Can you talk with me?" I asked her.
"Oh of course" the lady said and had taken a seat across from me.
"What's your name?" she asked.
"I'm Charlotte, What's yours?" I said.
"I am Stephanie" she said.
"It would be rude of me to call you by your first name" I said. "Then you may just call me Ms. Rose"
"Okay Ms. Rose" I said getting comfortable with her.
Eleazar has been gone for like a solid 30 minutes.
"What do you like to do?" Ms. Rose asked.
"I like to read and listen to music" I replied.
"Ah, that's good. Kids these days like to play video games" Ms. Rose remarks.
"Well I' never grew up playing video games it's always like board games" I explained.
"Your parents must be happy to know you aren't addicted to the internet" Ms. Rose jokingly said.
I slightly laughed.
But I was sad because I wasn't back at home with my Father.
"So what brings you here?" Ms. Rose continued.
"Well I came here because I don't like being home alone" I responded.
"Your father must be a very busy man" She says.
Then a voice came from behind me.
"Indeed he is" the familiar voice said.
I turned around.
What is he playing at.. I mean I consider him my second dad.
He was like a dad to me before Caius ever was.
Caius was like my father but never a dad... "Can't you hold still?" Eleazar asks of me while I kept on splashing the water around. "Nu" I said and I picked up a handful of bubbles.
"Well I can't bathe you if you keep on moving around" Eleazar said.
I shook my head. "Baba" I said and I put bubbles on my lips and I pecked Eleazar's lips.
"You must be dizzy from the heat" he said as he scooped me up from the tub.
"Thank you for keeping Charlotte company" Eleazar said.
"Not a problem" Ms. Rose said with a smile.
I waved goodbye and as we walked out.
"Who says your my dad" I scrunched my nose.
He didn't respond and we made it back to his car.
I didn't want to be left alone..
We passed the gates and he parked the car into the garage I unbuckled my seatbelt.
"Be up by 8 in the morning" He said getting out of the car.
"Okay" I said and I made it into the house and I quickly went up the stairs into the bathroom.
Eleazar's POV
Charlotte has been acting rather strange.
But I liked it.
Especially when she greeted me in excitement.
I had thought she hated me.
Then throughout the evening she was getting all skittish.
Then we made it back to the house and she raced up to her room.
I chuckled turning the lights on in my study.
Apparently one of the sponsors dropped out because of a certain actor that was being starred in our upcoming episodes.
I still felt bad for leaving the whole manor alone with Charlotte.
I should've remembered that she hates being left alone.
Charlotte was bawling as she ran up to me.
I swooped her up from the ground.
"Lola what's the matter?" I cooed.
"You weft me" she says sucking on her thumb.
"I'm sorry I had to talk with your father" I said wiping her tears away.
"Dwoes daddy hate meh" she asks burying her face in the crook my neck.
"He just doesn't know how to express his love for you" I said.
I didn't understand how Caius couldn't love such a bundle of joy.
"Never weaveee me" Lola says.
"Lola I won't" I planted a kiss on her forehead.
I took my jacket off and hung it in the closet.
I walked over to my desk and organized the files.
I had known Charlotte for 2 years.
But I had to leave due to urgent matters.
"Caius why can't you just let me have your daughter" I said aloud.
I was frustrated.
The same Caius who pushed Charlotte down now loves her to death.
Why does he get everything.
I threw a draft into the bin.
Then around 10:30 I heard the door creak open.
I looked up from the documents I had been finalizing.
"Lola. To what do I owe you for this visit?" I asked pushing the documents aside.
She didn't react to when I called 'Lola' It had been a long time since I used that name for her.
"I can't sleep" she says.
I smiled, and got up from my chair.
"Why can't you sleep?" I inquired.
"I just don't want to close my eyes" she explains.
I looked at the clock.
"What have you been doing for the past 2 hours?" I asked.
"I just tossed around and drank water" she explains.
"Is there something that's on your mind?" I continued.
"I don't know" she said and sat on the couch.
"Well I don't have much to do. So would you like me to read you a story?" I suggested.
"That's childish" she says.
lThen would cookies and milk help?" "can I sleep with you" she requested.
I was beyond happy.
She feels safe around me now.
"By all means" I replied.
"Okay I"ll grab my blanket" she says and exit my study office.
I walked out of my office and turned the lights off.
I went upstairs and saw her bedroom light turn off.
I made it to my bedroom.
I went into the bathroom and disposed of my clothes and put on my robe.
While waking out the bathroom Lola had already made herself comfortable.
I couldn't help but smile coyly.
I turned the lamp off on her side of the bed.
"Goodnight" I said.
I turned my lamp off and I stared at the ceiling.
After a week of trying to get her guard down she eventually put her barrier down.
I don't know what I was feeling knowing that she would have to leave soon.
But right now I was happy that she found warmth in my company.
"Something didn't agree with your stomach" I said as I tossed the diaper away.
But she continued to giggle.
I pulled out a new diaper and I wiped her butt then I laid the new diaper underneath her.
"Your father is lucky to not do this" I said as I secured the diaper around the waist.
Then after that she began to blow raspberries.
The giggles filled the room.
I picked her up and walked out of the changing room.
I can't believe that I had been away from her.
She was 3 years old turning 4 when I was sent back to the headquarters in England to take care of a crisis then after that I didn't have anymore business regarding the Volturis.
So I left.
Shortly when I found Carmen.
When I really think about it.
I was the one who changed her diapers so I could be the one taking care of her.
Caius why must you change now? I suppressed a growl.
