1. There are lots of made up words and spells and bits, and if you end up going "what the heck is that" it's probably not a real word, or it has a new definition.
2. The magic system is fairly cohesive and complex but will unfold gradually over the course of the story. I'm considering adding an index - please let me know if you think this will help!
3. Big picture is usually more important than small details, so don't worry about understanding every single concept. I love worldbuilding but I hope it doesn't feel like you're reading a textbook.
