It's the day in which I serve my first day I board the U.S.S. Serenity, I'm at the docks and wait for the vessel. I'm 3 hours early. I think about an array of things to pass the time. As in example: What will I do when I get involved in a battle? What if I get shot? What if I'm lost in space? What if I just quit the Galactic Corps and live quietly? "No" I mutter to myself. I can't just quit. Military is my life. I was trained NOT to quit. And I'll be damned if I quit now. "HONK!" I get up slowly and look at the horizon. A ship descending from our atmosphere. It lands in the water gracefully but with a force noticeable. I salute and wait as the ship slowly enters the docks. When it arrives, the sailors walk out a few stumbling on the way. The families scream and cheer in joy. I look around to see hugs and smiles, even though I have no family I can't help to smile. The recruitment officer calls my name and I snap to attention. I walk inside the vessel. Here marks my first day.
