Unknown to Jenny I hadn't fallen asleep the time she got in and the look in her eyes gave me a ray of hope for the both of us.

Deciding to go wake her up, I left the dining table which I had set up and ascended the stairs. Without knocking I swung the door open and closed my nose in disgust. The whole room smelt of dirty grass and there she was sleeping comfortably.

I could have stayed there and watch my pretty girl but the smell was greater. I tapped her a little on her lap, no response. I tapped again and her eyes opened slowly.

"Wake up honey, freshen up and come down dinner is ready" I whispered to her.

"How long have I been asleep?" she asked sitting up on the bed.

"Two hours" I replied her question.

"Okay, thanks" she said the last word looking me in the eyes and trudged into the bathroom.

Her last word and the look in her eyes lightened my inside and made me have a lot of thoughts but the next thing I heard broke it.

"Mom, leave" she stretched the last word, "I wanna have a bath and close the door behind you" she said with hatred in her eyes.

Walking down the stairs, I thought of today's  happening I had gone to the place I rented immediately Jenny left for school and filled it with some furniture and equipments. I was not ready to tell her yet but I will. I had met Mr Andrew and embarrassed myself three times in front of him.

I sat on the dining table and waited for Jenny all the way strangely thinking about Mr Andrew. I had called him Mr Andrew but he argued against it and we settled on Andrew.

The clanging of plate with fork and churning of food broke my chain of thoughts.

"What were you thinking about?" she questioned while putting a spoonful into her mouth.

"N..Nothing" I said picking my fork and started eating. A weird silence prevailed in the room and it was getting me choked.

"How was your first day at the school" I said breaking the horrible silence. She just nodded her head and continued on her food.

"Why did you come back looking like that?" I started again in a hope of a conversation.

"Nothing to worry about" she said.

"It is, I mean it is something I have to worry about" I stated my position.

"Mom" she shouted.

"Jenny" I shouted back which caused silence to prevail for a short while showing that she still respected the fact that I was her mother.

"I got into a fight and was told to clear the field" she said more like whispered and left the table.

After she had left I cleared the dishes and went to my own room. Laying on my bed, I closed my eyes and prayed for tomorrow.

Waking up I walked into the bathroom with heavy steps and did my morning routine.

After leaving the bathroom I dressed up in casual clothes and I decided to drop Jenny at her school. She did not have a car and also cabs are hard to find in this area.

Stepping down the stairs I found Jenny already dressed up and eating the leftover lasagna.

"You're up early" I said to her.

"Yeah, I thought you might want to drop me off at my school" she said looking down probably thinking that she hates asking favour from me.

"Sure" I smiled and joined her on the table, surprisingly the table was already set. I smiled a little cause I knew she did it just to persuade me to take her.

After breakfast I cleared the dishes while she cleared the table, we moved outside and I looked the door behind me.

I seated on the driver's seat while she settled on the passenger's. I knew the direction to the school cause the same path led to the bakery.

After dropping her off at school, I made my way to the bakery and finished up what I had left yesterday. The bakery was officially going to open on Saturday and I was going to tell Jenny about it today.

I seated myself on one of the chairs and started thinking of what Jenny said yesterday.

It was a regular day in school and I was not as calm as Jenny instead I was an outlawed person. At 17, I smoked, drank, went to clubs and wasted myself.

Kim, my best friend who was the direct opposite of me was heading towards her class when I stopped her.

"Hey" I said jumping in front of her. My hair was messy and I was standing in an awkward position.

"Hi" she replied assessing my face, "you are drunk again" she continued.

"Nooo, no I am not" I said in my defence, "I'm j..ju..st...." I could not finish my statement and I collapsed into her arms.

I did not know what happened after that but when I woke up I found myself in Kim's room.

"You had too much to drink" Kim said as she walked towards me with a bowl of God knows what.

"Yeah" I said holding my head cause of the headache and took the bowl. I took a spoon of it and nearly spat it out. Seeing her face we both burst into laughter.

"Ha but seriously thanks Kim" I said after the laughter putting on a serious face.

"For what?" she said still smiling.

"For bringing to your house not mine" I said and the smile left her face. "You're welcome" she said plainly. Kim was always worried about me, the lifestyle I lived knowing that my parents were very rich and quite popular in town.

After some talking, I went into her bathroom, freshened up and called my driver to pick me up. Kissing her my goodbye I headed home better.

Still lost in my thoughts I heard my name, I heard it again and then a bang on the table that was in front of me. Hearing that sound I shouted and fell on the floor.

"Ouchhh" I screamed and rubbed my feet cause it hurt there the most. I looked up to pour out all my pains and frustration on the person and stopped when I saw the person.

"Yes it's me, Andrew" he said probably the way I was looking at him.

Shaking my head cause of all those thoughts I tried getting yup but I fell not on the floor but on a very strong arm and warm body. We stayed in that position for some time and then he left me to fall down.

"Ouchhh" I shouted once again. I was furious as why he would drop me but he was the Landlord and I did not want to misbehave.

"What, huh why were you staring at me like that?" he questioned and I struggled to stand.
"Here" he put his hand in front me and I refused. With pains in my ankle I managed to stand up and take a sit.

"Your place looks nice" he said assessing the interior and I just smiled at him. I really wanted to pluck his heart out and he was telling me my place is nice.

"So, let me be your first customer" he said sitting down and put his elbow on the desk which was supporting his head.

"No" I replied dryly.

"No?" he said raising his eyebrows.

"No not no, I..I mean we are opening on Saturday" I said trembling a little.

"Well lucky for you I'm your landlord, soo I ask for a cup of coffee" he said putting a wide smile on his face following a smirk.

After giving it some thoughts I went into the kitchen and made two cups of coffee.

When I came back all the colours and expression on his face was gone leaving just a blank face that I couldn't read.

"You no what, talk to you later" he said putting his phone in his suit and walked over to his own building leaving the cup of coffee behind.

I cursed under my breath, I just made coffee and he left it there. Annoyed, I poured out the coffee into the sink, washed it and headed home.

I picked up Jenny from school and together we both went home. We did not talk to each other at all through out the drive and when we were home.

The rest of the day went as usual and it ended with Jenny and I getting into an argument and her walking out on me.

Laying on my bed and all that happened in the past came rushing to me and I said to myself, "Those are days to never forget"
