eundong is off of him and on the ground in the matter of seconds, a blood curdling scream passes through his lips as he watches his hand be consumed by the horrifying creature that looks nothing like the other zombies. it's mouth has enlarged twice as much, engulfing eundong's hand, completely ripping it off.
jimin grabs taehyung and gets him to run away from the scene, though not before he turns to see the dead creature plunge its mouth onto eundong's face, carnage squirting out. there's no way the guy would reanimate.
they don't speak a word as they run through the streets, the people unaware of the monster that had found itself in. and then a body drops from the ground, twisting and curling as groans leave their mouth before they stand up all contorted and begins to attack, sinking their virus filled teeth into their victims.
no, no, this isn't happening. . .
"fucking hell!"
taehyung holds into jimin's hand tightly, keeping up with his running pace as they turn a corner. taehyung's phone rings in his pocket, but he doesn't have the time to pick up. they stop at an alley, catching their breaths as they look around for any sign of the dead. a tank drives by, soldiers on foot ready to fire their guns.
"how the hell did they get in?" jimin pulls out his phone, "call jeongguk, he's probably worried."
taehyung nods, taking out his phone and slides his thumb on jeongguk's missed call. it doesn't take long for the younger to answer, worry laced in his voice. "where are you? are you with jimin? we're coming to get you two—"
"gguk, we're ok! we're a street over the flower shop, the one with the two sunflowers. are you two ok too?" taehyung presses himself against the brick wall, eyes watching jimin carefully as he peeks out into the street. the gunshots are still going off, and the shrieks of the civilians echo around.
"yeah. we see jimin. i'll see you soon ok?"
"ok."
jimin motions taehyung to follow him into yoongi's truck, the two making a run to the doors. jimin goes in first, offering taehyung his hand. "hurry!"
taehyung gets in and shuts the door just in time to avoid a zombie running towards them. it slams itself into the window, and the impact is so strong it cracks the glass. taehyung and jimin scream, yoongi and jeongguk join them as well.
"min yoongi drive, before i bite your head off!" jimin presses himself back further.
in a matter of seconds, they're speeding down the streets, swerving and avoiding hitting pedestrians who run away from the scene. "how could they have gotten in? this doesn't make sense," jeongguk looks back at taehyung.
"we'll have to wait it out, we're lucky we're away from downtown. just keep the gates closed, and cover the windows," yoongi parks inside of the gate that surrounds the house.
they all scurry out and proceed to close the gate doors, securing them twice. the gunshots are still going on, they can make the faint outlines of tanks still heading to the site of the scene. "you ok?" jeongguk grabs taehyung's waist and pulls him close, inhaling his scent.
"mhm, just got scared," taehyung mumbles, but before he can kiss jeongguk, the younger pushes him away when jimin approaches them.
taehyung glances at jeongguk, a frown forming on his face at jeongguk's actions. was he even ashamed to be with him in front of his friends? taehyung bites his lip, walking back inside and ignoring the raven.
"we should keep the lights off tonight, set up a few candles and try to find anything that can be used as a weapon. stay alert."
taehyung joins jimin, "need help with something?"
"yeah, wanna set up he candles? it's already getting pretty dark," jimin gives him an eyebrow raise, "this is really creeping me out."
taehyung agrees, following jimin towards a closet and helping him take out as many candles as possible and laying them out around the house. taehyung ignores jeongguk still, avoiding answering him when he calls out his name. he only goes when yoongi calls out to him.
"we'll sleep in the living room tonight, i think it'll make us feel safer?" yoongi says.
all three of them nod, jeongguk eyeing taehyung to try and somehow communicate with him. but the older doesn't spare him a glance. jeongguk frowns.
it's not until later, when taehyung goes into their room to get a pair of sleeping clothes, that jeongguk hurriedly walks in and closes the door behind him, locking it. taehyung turns around startled, but he calms down when he realizes it's jeongguk.
"hey, jimin made some onion soup," jeongguk starts out, approaching taehyung who's crouched down organizing his backpack.
taehyung nods, not giving him a verbal answer.
jeongguk pokes the inside of his cheek with his tongue, letting out a sigh. "are you ok? you've been acting off."
the brunette pauses, licking his lips, "i'm fine."
"i know you're lying taehyung. just tell me what's wrong, i'll try to fix it," jeongguk crouches down next to him, looking at him despite taehyung looking straight ahead.
taehyung shakes his head, "it's nothing gguk. don't worry about it."
would jeongguk be mad if taehyung brought them up again? "no, just tell me."
taehyung groans, letting the clothes in his hand drop as he sniffles, "i don't want to argue."
jeongguk grabs taehyung's hands and presses kisses to them, "we won't baby, do you trust me?"
taehyung nods.
"i got upset because. . . well, because you pushed me away. earlier in the yard, i was going to kiss you and you saw jimin," taehyung feels his face heat up in embarrassment, he hates sharing his feelings.
jeongguk purses his lips, tucking taehyung's hair behind his hear, grabbing his face and making him look at him. "tae, i love you. i always have, always will."
taehyung's eyes widen, but before he can say something, jeongguk kisses him.
he brings him close, pressing their lips closer today. taehyung lets out sweet noises, making jeongguk kiss him more until he breaks away, "you don't have to say it back yet. just don't ever doubt us ok?"
taehyung nods, brushing his fingers over jeongguk's lips, "i don't doubt us."
"i want you to stay near me at all times, we don't know what's going to happen. i know you're strong, but—"
taehyung kisses him, "i know jeon."
jeongguk kisses him again, "i know you you do kim."
